I respect these folks that do this. Not only do the quarter horses have to be super cutting, reining & working cow horses, they have to be fast. The riders have to be good athletes as well to ride the horse, maintain balance and posture & let the animal do the work as trained

People can ride but some of them think the back cinch is there to be a leg trap, its not tighten them up, they are useless if their not setup right, its should be snug when your on the ground and then hanging about 1 or 2 fingers when your on your horse, its very dangerous to have you back cinch too loose, because you horse's legs cam get caught up in their and make them panic.
I've had a horse get their leg caught in there, broke my saddle, snapped the whole tree, I got thrown off, he pulled the saddle under his belly and ran like he thought he was gonna die, it is EXTREMELY dangerous, I had a friend end up having spine surgery because he unfortunately didn't fall off like me and got caught with the horse and got dragged.

Well, some of it is to spook the cows into picking up the pace- like clicking to your horse.
The rest of it is telling where the cow is, and which way it's gonna go.
      Hope that helps!

I've worked with cattle on a horse before and its kind of an instinct for me. You need to flood the cow or older calf by constantly keeping its mind on you and getting away from you. basically scaring it, to make it go the opposite direction you are.
