The "I hate you with all of my being!" hits really hard, and it makes me wish it was used in the main game. I think that line goes a long way to show how Ardyn is really losing control near the end. Usually he remains so cool and composed, using the power of his words to manipulate and torment Noctis. But in that final moment, the idea of him just letting go and putting all his rage and desperation on display is epic and heart-wrenching. It shows that he's not just your run-of-the-mill sinister villain --- there's a deep-rooted connection Ardyn feels with Noctis. Not only because they're related by blood and by the power of Kings, but because Noctis reminds him of his brother and everything that he lost.
@@Zelink108 After reading Dawn of the Future I didn't come away thinking Bahamut was a bad guy, really. I mean, functionally, yes. And one could make a strong argument that he took things too far, but he was really just like everyone else in that he wanted to destroy the Starscourge. The way he went about it was extreme, because he didn't particularly respect or have faith in humanity. He didn't think about the good of individual people, but the "greater good" in the long-run. I don't think of him as evil or malicious, but perhaps simply detached from humans and too powerful/arrogant for the good of anyone.

@@Zelink108 Final Fantasy XV works best in my opinion when you just kind of enjoy the journey and the dynamic between the main cast. You can tell they put a lot of time and effort establishing those friendships and the kind of roadtrip feel of the game. Unfortunately as a consequence they pushed pretty much everything else off to the side. And the narrative really suffers for it. I still have a lot of love for the game, the DLCs, and the book though. I found it all to be a fun experience, even if I do agree with the majority of criticism it gets.
Wow...and here I was blown away by the dialog in the base game on the final phase. I loved how they built up the "I have lived in darkness for ages!" speech and I especially loved the back and forth between Arydn and Noctis. I must remember to discuss it on a future stream.
As much as i love this game i have no clue why square didnt add this to the ACTUAL game. come on square this game has enough bad rep as it is and i really want to see the full potential of this game
It might have something to do with the fact that they repeat the word “dark” far too many times in this short exchange. Still, that issue could be addressed by simply cutting out two or three lines and it would have worked just as well. It could also be because of the slow-motion effect in the main game when Noctis is finishing off Ardyn.

I hate the fact that this dialogue (As far as I've gone to find videos of it) is only in the pocket edition of the game. I have no hate towards the game itself, just a little confused and disappointed to be honest.
There isn't an open world to explore. You're confined to some pretty linear maps, and you can't return to areas you've left unless you replay the chapter. They have extended some areas, like the Glacian area and Fodina Caestino.
