NCT has 4 units, NCT U, NCT 127, NCT Dream, and the Chinese subunit, WayV. Some members have permanent positions in groups and some rotate in and out. Some members are in more than one subunit. NCT's whole group concept is based on dreams, so in NCT-U's "Make a Wish" (Birthday Song)" they talk about making a wish like on your birthday because wishes are often things you dream of happening. Everything NCT does is about dreams, dreaming or being in a dream state. SM Entertainment is known for having some of the best dancers and singers in the industry. That is just a fact about the type of people SM selects to be a part of its company. You can't be an SM artist without having amazing singing and dance skills. So even the company's rappers are unbelievable singers and dancers. That is why the company has gained the reputation as the vocal powerhouse of the industry, who also happens to have some of the industry's top dancers. Here is some information about how NCT works. I hope this might make it a little easier to understand. NCT is different than any other Kpop group in the industry. NCT (which stands for Neo Culture Technology) currently has 23 members. And the group right now as a whole has 4 sub-units. The way NCT works is it's a group with an infinite number of members. (There are an unknown number of trainees who are still waiting to debut who could potentially become members of NCT.) As SM Entertainment's male trainees graduate from the training program and SM decides they are ready to debut, they become a member of NCT and they debut as part of one of NCT's sub-units. (They just added 2 new members -- Sungchan and Shotaro -- at the end of 2020, who are expected to eventually become members of a new sub-unit.) NCT is a group that is constantly changing and rearranging its members and sound and we never know quite what to expect from them. With an infinite number of members and a concept that allows the members to rotate between sub-units, changing, adding and subtracting members depending on the concept and style of the song, you should never expect the same thing from them. You are better off always expecting something new, that somehow, also ends up sounding very much like NCT. LOL NCT is a very international group. The members as a whole currently represent 9 different countries and they speak 8 different languages. For example, there are 10 native Korean members (Taeyong, Doyoung, Taeil, Haechan, Jaehyun, Jeno, Jaemin, Jisung, Jungwoo and SungChan), Mark is Korean-Canadian, Johnny is Korean-American, Yuta and Shotaro are Japanese, Ten is Thai, Lucas is Chinese-Thai from Hong Kong, YangYang is Taiwanese but he grew up in Germany, Hendery is Chinese from Macau (China) and 5 mainland Chinese members (WinWin, Kun, Xiaojun, Renjun and Chenle). NCT-U is NCT's first sub-unit which debuted in April 2016. NCT-U is made up of pretty much all the members, they just add and subtract members from all the other sub-units depending on the concept for the song. NCT-U songs can have anywhere from all the members or only 1 or 2 members. The U stands for United, but I also like to think of it as Universal because of the way the group never has a fixed number of members. As you saw, "Make A Wish (Birthday song)" has 7 members -- Taeyong (NCT's leader, main rapper and main dancer), Doyoung (main vocal) and Jaehyun (main vocal and visual), who are members of NCT-127; Lucas (rapper and visual) and Xiaojun (main vocal), who are members of WayV; Jaemin (lead rapper), who is a member of NCT-Dream; and Shotaro (main dancer), who has not been made a member of a fixed group yet. If you like their dancing you really have to check out the dance practice for "Make A Wish (Birthday Song)." NCT are known for their dancing and they have a dance practice video for almost everything they do. Plus, they have behind the scenes of them filming the MV and in the studio recording the song, etc. The second sub-unit is NCT-127 which began in July 2016. NCT-127 currently has 9 or 10 members. This group is more of a fixed unit so the members don't change quite as much. The 127 in this unit's name stands for the longitude coordinates of Seoul, South Korea, on a map of the world. So it's 127's job to represent Seoul -- the birthplace of Kpop -- around the world. (There are 9 members in "Kick It" and "Sticker" -- Taeyong, Taeil, Johnny, Yuta, Doyoung, Jaehyun, Jungwoo, Mark and Haechan.) SM actually hired a movie fight trainer and martial arts coach to teach the members of NCT-127 how to do the kicks, punches and use the nunchucks, etc. for their "Kick It" MV. If you really want to see how they filmed the MV and song, you should watch the behind the scenes of them recording "Kick It" and the behind the scenes of them filming the MV. You will be even more impressed when you see how much work and detail went into this MV. Plus, if you like their dancing, you have to check out the dance practice videos for "Kick It" and "Sticker" because the MV doesn't even begin to do the choreography justice. I guarantee, there are parts of these dances that you didn't even notice, that will become clear in the dance practice. ;D And if you want to see them in the studio learning the choreography, check out the Uncut dance practice vlogs as well. Most people don't get all the references to Bruce Lee in "Kick It" (Chinese/Korean title "Hero") even though everything is based on being like Bruce Lee -- hence why they say Bruce Lee like a hundred times in the song LOL -- and black and yellow are Bruce Lee's signature colors -- so, that is why "Kick It" used those colors. (Many say this MV reminds them of the Movie "Kill Bill," without realizing that movie is based on Bruce Lee-style action movies and is sort of a homage to Bruce Lee.) As you may know, the finger move on the side of their nose is a signature Bruce Lee move. Bruce Lee is a Chinese action hero, so even though this is one of the Korean sub-units of NCT, those are Chinese characters you see on the signs in the MV, etc. NCT-Dream is NCT's third sub-unit, which began in August 2016 and it is made up of the 7 youngest members of the group. All the Dream member's are currently between the ages of 20 and 22 years old (they were 14-17 when they debuted.) SM originally created NCT-Dream with the idea that if they had a trainee that they felt was ready to debut even though they were really young, they would start out as a member of NCT-Dream. They were the cute babies of the group who were learning the ropes and honing their skills because they are young, but they are also some of the most talented because they debuted way sooner than a lot of trainees. The way NCT-Dream originally was designed to work was that the members were part of the group until they turn 19 and become an adult. SM's original plan was that when the members turned 19 they were supposed to graduate from the group and they were no longer considered a member of NCT-Dream. Mark (the leader/captain of Dream) "graduated" from NCT-Dream in 2018, and Jeno, Haechan, Jaemin and RenJun we thought would be graduating in 2019 and form a new NCT sub-unit or be add to a sub-unit that already existed. (Which would have left NCT-Dream with only 2 members, with the idea that new trainees would probably debut sometime in 2020 and become members of NCT-Dream.) However, SM announced at the beginning of 2020 that they decided to make NCT-Dream a permanent group and suspend the whole "graduation" concept, including putting Mark back in the group. The fourth sub-unit is WayV which debuted at the beginning of 2019. They are NCT's Chinese sub-unit who produces songs in Mandarin and promotes in China. There are currently 7 members in this sub-unit. All the members of WayV have Chinese heritage, but like Ten who is Thai, they aren't all native Chinese. The reason why WayV doesn't have NCT in their name like the other sub-units is because, at the time of their debut, the conflict between the Korean and Chinese government was at its peak and China wasn't allowing anyone associated directly with a Korean company to do business in its country. Because of this conflict SM had to find/create a Chinese company -- Label V -- that was willing to represent NCT's Chinese sub-unit, but would also allow SM to have control over the group's concept and activities. Most of the members of WayV had already debuted originally as members of NCT-U + 3 new members who debuted specifically with WayV because they were Chinese. (Kun, the leader of WayV, debuted as a member of NCT's special project group NCT-2018.) NCT is SM's attempt at taking over the music industry around the world. SM's goal is to eventually have NCT sub-units representing every major city in every country in the world. Some day they hope to, for example, take several Japanese members and create a Japanese sub-unit, or put together members from Thailand and create a Thai sub-unit, etc. It has always been SM's plan to have world domination. And to that point, right now NCT-127 is the group that SM is using to try and get their foothold in the U.S. music market with songs like "Regular" and "Highway to Heaven" and collaborations with American artists such as Jason Derulo, as well as a U.S. concert tour and promotional tours with the American media, etc. So, this year is NCT's 6th anniversary, but debut dates are different for any number of members because it all depends on when they were added to the group. And many of the members of NCT actually became recognized by fans even before debut because they were part of SM's pre-debut group project called SMRookies, so SM did activities with several of the members before they debuted. Taeyong (the leader of NCT and a member of NCT-U and NCT-127), Mark (a member of all of NCT's first 3 sub-units -- NCT-U, NCT-127 and NCT-Dream) and Ten and Lucas (members of NCT-U and WayV) are also members of the very first Kpop supergroup, SuperM, which is an SM group consisting of members from EXO, SHINee, NCT and WayV.
Whether SuperM is the first super group is subjective. Around 2010, SM created SM the Ballad which could also be considered a super since it had vocalists from several SM groups. I believe it debuted with Shinee's Jonghyun, Super Junior's Kyuhyun, Trax's Jay, and one of their top trainees Jino (now Jinho, who later left and debuted as one of Pentagon's main vocals).

However, SM is the one who gave SuperM the title as the "first supergroup" to indicate the were the first supergroup to cross over into the U.S. market, etc. SM the Ballad is more of a collaboration project between pretty much all the main vocalists of SM. And, although you are right the members you listed were one of the first groups to release a song as SM the Ballad, they weren't the only group on the album and their song "Hot Times" was only one of the songs. There were other pairings and groups of SM artists that also released songs as part of SM the Ballad as well, such as Zhoumi from Super Junior-M; Jonghyun from SHINee and Taeyeon from Girls' Generation; Yesung from Super Junior; and Jonghyun and Chen from EXO; Krystal from F(x) and Chen; Max Changmin from TVXQ and Krystal; Zhang Li Yin and Chen; etc. There were two albums released under SM the Ballad and there were different members in each of the songs. SM the Ballad wasn't a fixed group. There were several different combinations of artists who produced songs as part of the group and albums. The difference with SuperM is that they have fixed members and the group doesn't change.

NCT is one big group (of currently 23 members) with different subunits. I'll recommend NCT 127's "Regular (English version)," "Limitless," and "Superhuman." I would also highly recommend NCT U's "7th Sense" and "Baby Don't Stop." All are fire!
NCT has 23 members. 9 are in NCT127, the Seoul based unit (10 in name but 9 active). Two of those are also in NCT Dream, Mark Lee and Haechan, the "babies" of the group, the young ones. WayV has most of the Chinese ethnicity members (two in Dream are also Chinese but aren't in WayV). NCTU is anyone they want from any of the subunits. Depending on the song, they'll pull from any of the 23 members. Two of the 23 have no fixed group (Shotaro and Sungchan) but they are featured in the NCTU songs a few times. Shotaro was in the Make a Wish MV.

ok so basically nct together has 23 members and they're all divided into 4 parts. nct u, a rotating unit who change members almost every comeback to the members who fit the concept of the album. nct 127 for the hyungs (older members), members who fit the badboy concept. nct dream for the younger members, members who fit the youthful concept. and lastly, the chinese unit wayv who the hyungs that can speak chinese are apart of. the reason why wayv isn't called nct is because of political issues between korea and china. basically they might get less streams and sales and might even get backlash from china if they debut under a korean label or group. then there's super m, super m is a "super group" that consists of both nct members and members from other group of the same agency, super m are partly managed by capitol music group (an american record label) for international promotions.

The concept is that they can have infinite number of members bc members are always added. Since the group is so big, it is split into 4 units: NCT U, NCT 127, NCT Dream and WayV. Each unit promotes separately and have their own style of music and concept. Each unit also has unique members to it, however members can be apart of more than one unit. Adding a new unit is also possible since the NCT Brand is always expanding NCT U: The first NCT unit to be formed. Any of the members from a fixed unit can be in it. Depending on who fit the concepts members change all the time because their are always different line ups. NCT 127 is the second unit. 127 is the longitude of Seoul, Korea. Their concept is that they want to spread their music from Seoul to the world. 127 music is more on the experimental side more than the other units but in my opinion it always sounds like a banger. NCT Dream is the third unit to be formed. They originally had this graduation concept where members who turn 20 would leave the group. Originally they had the cutesy concept bc they were all in their teens. Now the graduation concept is canceled and the only memeber who left, Mark, is backk and the unit is now fixed. Their music style also changed from cutesy to more mature and refreshing. Plus they are my fav unit. Wayv is the most recent unit to be formed. The Chinese unit that promotes to the Chinese market. Not all members are Chinese, some are just of Chinese descent. They don't have NCT in their name because of political issues with South Korea and China. Their music style is very groovy and nice to listen to. In the fandom ("NCTzen" because NCT is like a city and we're the citizens living in it) we use this this terminology to help people understand the concept a bit better. Their are other terminologies as well. NCT is a school. In this school their is NCT 127 : the class with students that want to go from Seoul Korea to the world, their is NCT Dream: The young trouble makers who are youthful and refreshing, their is WayV: the Chinese class and their is NCT U: The extracurricular class with exchange students from the other 3 classes.

The rest of the subunits are: NCT U ( Make a Wish is this unit's song) , Wayv (chinese unit of NCT). The songs u have reacted now is from different units so u cant expect the same thing since each unit of NCT have different concept or sound in their music. Get it together guyzz

I recommend "90s Love" by NCTU. It's my favorite so far, and it features members from WayV and NCTDream and Sungchan, one of the newest members. It's really good and nostalgic. Most of these boys weren't even born in the 90s, lol! But they did an excellent job.

Same I picked up some harmonies in glitch mode (the mmm mmm) part which i hadn't heard before. I think the sound is just playing straight from a speaker and being recorded, which is what changes up the frequencies and maybe enables certain layers to sound more prominent? Idk lol

Thank you , I think it adds a nice reverb and bounce to the music . I use a shotgun mic to record us and the music at the same time live . Instead of adding the video in separate. So your hearing the speakers directly and the echo from the room .
I am a bit late..so idk if you already understood the whole concept with NCT. But still doing it. NCT is a group of 26 members. They are seperated into 4 units being NCT 127, NCT DREAM, WAYV and NCT WISH(NEW UNIT). There is also NCT DOJAEJUNG but they are already in 127. NCT 127 was the first fixed unit to debut with 7 members they later on added 3 and then removed 1. So the are 9 now. In recent songs if there will be more they will be 8 or 7 bcs Taeyong their leader has gone into military and Taeil might go soon too. The 2nd permanent unit is NCT DREAM. They weren't a fixed unit since debut. They were supposed to have always the youngest members of NCT and have a graduation concept as Mark graduated fans didn't like it so they cancelled that concept and made them a fixed unit with 7 members. WAYV is the chinese unit and they make songs in mandarin and mainly promote in China. They don't have "NCT" in the name because of political issues between Korea and China. NCT WISH the most recent and last unit(new unit with new members). They are the japanese team and do promote in both Korea and Japan but do focus more on Japan bcs they have japanese and korean versions of songs. It is not as much as a problem due to there not being political issues. The only issues would be korean fans being xenophobic towards japanese members. Then there is NCT U which debuted first out of all NCT units. I introduce them last as NCT U stands for NCT united. It unites all members and has members from different units "collab" on songs. Some even debuted under NCT U and had to wait to debut into units. NCT is a group that had the concept of infinite members but they got rid of it recently and removed 3 members. One that was in WAYV Lucas. Mainly because of him being in a controversery and being on hiatus for 2 years or so. The other to Sungchan and Shotaro weren't in units and were supposed to be in the japanese team but instead they put them into a new group under SM ENTERTAINMENT being RIIZE. I hope it isn't too confusing. Plus SUPERM has 4 members from NCT ...well 3...1 of them is Lucas the others are Taeyong and Mark from 127 and Ten from WAYV(Lucas was in WAYV).

This is is the fourth subunit of NCT based in China making WayV the first sub-unit in NCT based out of Korea. WayV is under S.M Entertainment’s China-exclusive label, Label V

NCT U:
This is the first sub unit, they don’t have fixed members meaning their lineup changes all the time for every comeback, OST or dance stage performance depending on which member fits the concept of the song, so you’ll see different each time, so I can’t really write which members are in this, but mark is there almost every time, probably because he’s such a good rapper haha, but the two new members sungchan and shotaro have been in one of their new songs! Shotaro was in Make A Wish, sungchan have been in Misfit!

NCT's whole group concept is based on dreams, so in NCT-U's "Make a Wish" (Birthday Song)" they talk about making a wish like on your birthday because wishes are often things you dream of happening. Everything NCT does is about dreams, dreaming or being in a dream state.
SM Entertainment is known for having some of the best dancers and singers in the industry. That is just a fact about the type of people SM selects to be a part of its company. You can't be an SM artist without having amazing singing and dance skills. So even the company's rappers are unbelievable singers and dancers. That is why the company has gained the reputation as the vocal powerhouse of the industry, who also happens to have some of the industry's top dancers.
Here is some information about how NCT works. I hope this might make it a little easier to understand. NCT is different than any other Kpop group in the industry.
NCT (which stands for Neo Culture Technology) currently has 23 members. And the group right now as a whole has 4 sub-units. The way NCT works is it's a group with an infinite number of members. (There are an unknown number of trainees who are still waiting to debut who could potentially become members of NCT.) As SM Entertainment's male trainees graduate from the training program and SM decides they are ready to debut, they become a member of NCT and they debut as part of one of NCT's sub-units. (They just added 2 new members -- Sungchan and Shotaro -- at the end of 2020, who are expected to eventually become members of a new sub-unit.)
NCT is a group that is constantly changing and rearranging its members and sound and we never know quite what to expect from them. With an infinite number of members and a concept that allows the members to rotate between sub-units, changing, adding and subtracting members depending on the concept and style of the song, you should never expect the same thing from them. You are better off always expecting something new, that somehow, also ends up sounding very much like NCT. LOL
NCT is a very international group. The members as a whole currently represent 9 different countries and they speak 8 different languages. For example, there are 10 native Korean members (Taeyong, Doyoung, Taeil, Haechan, Jaehyun, Jeno, Jaemin, Jisung, Jungwoo and SungChan), Mark is Korean-Canadian, Johnny is Korean-American, Yuta and Shotaro are Japanese, Ten is Thai, Lucas is Chinese-Thai from Hong Kong, YangYang is Taiwanese but he grew up in Germany, Hendery is Chinese from Macau (China) and 5 mainland Chinese members (WinWin, Kun, Xiaojun, Renjun and Chenle).
NCT-U is NCT's first sub-unit which debuted in April 2016. NCT-U is made up of pretty much all the members, they just add and subtract members from all the other sub-units depending on the concept for the song. NCT-U songs can have anywhere from all the members or only 1 or 2 members. The U stands for United, but I also like to think of it as Universal because of the way the group never has a fixed number of members.
As you saw, "Make A Wish (Birthday song)" has 7 members -- Taeyong (NCT's leader, main rapper and main dancer), Doyoung (main vocal) and Jaehyun (main vocal and visual), who are members of NCT-127; Lucas (rapper and visual) and Xiaojun (main vocal), who are members of WayV; Jaemin (lead rapper), who is a member of NCT-Dream; and Shotaro (main dancer), who has not been made a member of a fixed group yet.
If you like their dancing you really have to check out the dance practice for "Make A Wish (Birthday Song)." NCT are known for their dancing and they have a dance practice video for almost everything they do. Plus, they have behind the scenes of them filming the MV and in the studio recording the song, etc.
The second sub-unit is NCT-127 which began in July 2016. NCT-127 currently has 9 or 10 members. This group is more of a fixed unit so the members don't change quite as much. The 127 in this unit's name stands for the longitude coordinates of Seoul, South Korea, on a map of the world. So it's 127's job to represent Seoul -- the birthplace of Kpop -- around the world. (There are 9 members in "Kick It" and "Sticker" -- Taeyong, Taeil, Johnny, Yuta, Doyoung, Jaehyun, Jungwoo, Mark and Haechan.)
SM actually hired a movie fight trainer and martial arts coach to teach the members of NCT-127 how to do the kicks, punches and use the nunchucks, etc. for their "Kick It" MV. If you really want to see how they filmed the MV and song, you should watch the behind the scenes of them recording "Kick It" and the behind the scenes of them filming the MV. You will be even more impressed when you see how much work and detail went into this MV.
Plus, if you like their dancing, you have to check out the dance practice videos for "Kick It" and "Sticker" because the MV doesn't even begin to do the choreography justice. I guarantee, there are parts of these dances that you didn't even notice, that will become clear in the dance practice. ;D And if you want to see them in the studio learning the choreography, check out the Uncut dance practice vlogs as well.
Most people don't get all the references to Bruce Lee in "Kick It" (Chinese/Korean title "Hero") even though everything is based on being like Bruce Lee -- hence why they say Bruce Lee like a hundred times in the song LOL -- and black and yellow are Bruce Lee's signature colors -- so, that is why "Kick It" used those colors. (Many say this MV reminds them of the Movie "Kill Bill," without realizing that movie is based on Bruce Lee-style action movies and is sort of a homage to Bruce Lee.) As you may know, the finger move on the side of their nose is a signature Bruce Lee move. Bruce Lee is a Chinese action hero, so even though this is one of the Korean sub-units of NCT, those are Chinese characters you see on the signs in the MV, etc.
NCT-Dream is NCT's third sub-unit, which began in August 2016 and it is made up of the 7 youngest members of the group. All the Dream member's are currently between the ages of 20 and 22 years old (they were 14-17 when they debuted.) SM originally created NCT-Dream with the idea that if they had a trainee that they felt was ready to debut even though they were really young, they would start out as a member of NCT-Dream. They were the cute babies of the group who were learning the ropes and honing their skills because they are young, but they are also some of the most talented because they debuted way sooner than a lot of trainees. The way NCT-Dream originally was designed to work was that the members were part of the group until they turn 19 and become an adult. SM's original plan was that when the members turned 19 they were supposed to graduate from the group and they were no longer considered a member of NCT-Dream. Mark (the leader/captain of Dream) "graduated" from NCT-Dream in 2018, and Jeno, Haechan, Jaemin and RenJun we thought would be graduating in 2019 and form a new NCT sub-unit or be add to a sub-unit that already existed. (Which would have left NCT-Dream with only 2 members, with the idea that new trainees would probably debut sometime in 2020 and become members of NCT-Dream.) However, SM announced at the beginning of 2020 that they decided to make NCT-Dream a permanent group and suspend the whole "graduation" concept, including putting Mark back in the group.
The fourth sub-unit is WayV which debuted at the beginning of 2019. They are NCT's Chinese sub-unit who produces songs in Mandarin and promotes in China. There are currently 7 members in this sub-unit. All the members of WayV have Chinese heritage, but like Ten who is Thai, they aren't all native Chinese. The reason why WayV doesn't have NCT in their name like the other sub-units is because, at the time of their debut, the conflict between the Korean and Chinese government was at its peak and China wasn't allowing anyone associated directly with a Korean company to do business in its country. Because of this conflict SM had to find/create a Chinese company -- Label V -- that was willing to represent NCT's Chinese sub-unit, but would also allow SM to have control over the group's concept and activities. Most of the members of WayV had already debuted originally as members of NCT-U + 3 new members who debuted specifically with WayV because they were Chinese.

NCT is SM's attempt at taking over the music industry around the world. SM's goal is to eventually have NCT sub-units representing every major city in every country in the world. Some day they hope to, for example, take several Japanese members and create a Japanese sub-unit, or put together members from Thailand and create a Thai sub-unit, etc. It has always been SM's plan to have world domination. And to that point, right now NCT-127 is the group that SM is using to try and get their foothold in the U.S. music market with songs like "Regular" and "Highway to Heaven" and collaborations with American artists such as Jason Derulo, as well as a U.S. concert tour and promotional tours with the American media, etc.
So, this year is NCT's 6th anniversary, but debut dates are different for any number of members because it all depends on when they were added to the group. And many of the members of NCT actually became recognized by fans even before debut because they were part of SM's pre-debut group project called SMRookies, so SM did activities with several of the members before they debuted.
Taeyong (the leader of NCT and a member of NCT-U and NCT-127), Mark (a member of all of NCT's first 3 sub-units -- NCT-U, NCT-127 and NCT-Dream) and Ten and Lucas (members of NCT-U and WayV) are also members of the very first Kpop supergroup, SuperM, which is an SM group consisting of members from EXO, SHINee, NCT and WayV.

Whether SuperM is the first super group is subjective. Around 2010, SM created SM the Ballad which could also be considered a super since it had vocalists from several SM groups. I believe it debuted with Shinee's Jonghyun, Super Junior's Kyuhyun, Trax's Jay, and one of their top trainees Jino (now Jinho, who later left and debuted as one of Pentagon's main vocals).

SM the Ballad is more of a collaboration project between pretty much all the main vocalists of SM. And, although you are right the members you listed were one of the first groups to release a song as SM the Ballad, they weren't the only group on the album and their song "Hot Times" was only one of the songs. There were other pairings and groups of SM artists that also released songs as part of SM the Ballad as well, such as Zhoumi from Super Junior-M; Jonghyun from SHINee and Taeyeon from Girls' Generation; Yesung from Super Junior; and Jonghyun and Chen from EXO; Krystal from F(x) and Chen; Max Changmin from TVXQ and Krystal; Zhang Li Yin and Chen; etc. There were two albums released under SM the Ballad and there were different members in each of the songs.
SM the Ballad wasn't a fixed group. There were several different combinations of artists who produced songs as part of the group and albums.
The difference with SuperM is that they have fixed members and the group doesn't change.

NCT is one big group (of currently 23 members) with different subunits. I'll recommend NCT 127's "Regular (English version)," "Limitless," and "Superhuman." I would also highly recommend NCT U's "7th Sense" and "Baby Don't Stop." All are fire!
NCT has 23 members. 9 are in NCT127, the Seoul based unit (10 in name but 9 active). Two of those are also in NCT Dream, Mark Lee and Haechan, the "babies" of the group, the young ones. WayV has most of the Chinese ethnicity members (two in Dream are also Chinese but aren't in WayV). NCTU is anyone they want from any of the subunits. Depending on the song, they'll pull from any of the 23 members. Two of the 23 have no fixed group (Shotaro and Sungchan) but they are featured in the NCTU songs a few times. Shotaro was in the Make a Wish MV.

ok so basically nct together has 23 members and they're all divided into 4 parts. nct u, a rotating unit who change members almost every comeback to the members who fit the concept of the album. nct 127 for the hyungs (older members), members who fit the badboy concept. nct dream for the younger members, members who fit the youthful concept. and lastly, the chinese unit wayv who the hyungs that can speak chinese are apart of. the reason why wayv isn't called nct is because of political issues between korea and china. basically they might get less streams and sales and might even get backlash from china if they debut under a korean label or group. then there's super m, super m is a "super group" that consists of both nct members and members from other group of the same agency, super m are partly managed by capitol music group (an american record label) for international promotions.
ncts concept is unlimited members so for now there’s 4 sub units (127 dream u wayv, some of the members are in superm with idols from exo & shinee) and they all promote separately. 127 dream and wayv are fixed but nct u is rotational and the members depend on the concept - there could be 6 vocalist from any unit or 9 rappers from any unit depending on the style of song. there’s 22 members (plus one on hiatus) right now lmk if u want more info!!

So in short NCT (NEO Culture Technology) is a group with 23 members and counting. The concept is that they can have infinite number of members bc members are always added. Since the group is so big, it is split into 4 units: NCT U, NCT 127, NCT Dream and WayV. Each unit promotes separately and have their own style of music and concept. NCT U: The first NCT unit to be formed. Any of the members from a fixed unit can be in it. Depending on who fit the concepts members change all the time because their are always different line ups.
NCT 127 is the second unit. 127 is the longitude of Seoul, Korea. Their concept is that they want to spread their music from Seoul to the world. 127 music is more on the experimental side more than the other units but in my opinion it always sounds like a banger.
NCT Dream is the third unit to be formed. They originally had this graduation concept where members who turn 20 would leave the group. Originally they had the cutesy concept bc they were all in their teens. Now the graduation concept is canceled and the only memeber who left, Mark, is backk and the unit is now fixed. Their music style also changed from cutesy to more mature and refreshing. Plus they are my fav unit.
Wayv is the most recent unit to be formed. The Chinese unit that promotes to the Chinese market. Not all members are Chinese, some are just of Chinese descent. They don't have NCT in their name because of political issues with South Korea and China. Their music style is very groovy and nice to listen to.
In the fandom ("NCTzen" because NCT is like a city and we're the citizens living in it) we use this this terminology to help people understand the concept a bit better. Their are other terminologies as well.
NCT is a school. In this school their is NCT 127 : the class with students that want to go from Seoul Korea to the world, their is NCT Dream: The young trouble makers who are youthful and refreshing, their is WayV: the Chinese class and their is NCT U: The extracurricular class with exchange students from the other 3 classes.

Same I picked up some harmonies in glitch mode (the mmm mmm) part which i hadn't heard before. I think the sound is just playing straight from a speaker and being recorded, which is what changes up the frequencies and maybe enables certain layers to sound more prominent? Idk lol

Thank you , I think it adds a nice reverb and bounce to the music . I use a shotgun mic to record us and the music at the same time live . Instead of adding the video in separate. So your hearing the speakers directly and the echo from the room .
I am a bit late..so idk if you already understood the whole concept with NCT. But still doing it.
NCT is a group of 26 members. They are seperated into 4 units being NCT 127, NCT DREAM, WAYV and NCT WISH(NEW UNIT). There is also NCT DOJAEJUNG but they are already in 127.
NCT 127 was the first fixed unit to debut with 7 members they later on added 3 and then removed 1. So the are 9 now. In recent songs if there will be more they will be 8 or 7 bcs Taeyong their leader has gone into military and Taeil might go soon too.
The 2nd permanent unit is NCT DREAM. They weren't a fixed unit since debut. They were supposed to have always the youngest members of NCT and have a graduation concept as Mark graduated fans didn't like it so they cancelled that concept and made them a fixed unit with 7 members.
WAYV is the chinese unit and they make songs in mandarin and mainly promote in China. They don't have "NCT" in the name because of political issues between Korea and China.
NCT WISH the most recent and last unit(new unit with new members). They are the japanese team and do promote in both Korea and Japan but do focus more on Japan bcs they have japanese and korean versions of songs. It is not as much as a problem due to there not being political issues. The only issues would be korean fans being xenophobic towards japanese members.
Then there is NCT U which debuted first out of all NCT units. I introduce them last as NCT U stands for NCT united. It unites all members and has members from different units "collab" on songs. Some even debuted under NCT U and had to wait to debut into units.
NCT is a group that had the concept of infinite members but they got rid of it recently and removed 3 members. One that was in WAYV Lucas. Mainly because of him being in a controversery and being on hiatus for 2 years or so. The other to Sungchan and Shotaro weren't in units and were supposed to be in the japanese team but instead they put them into a new group under SM ENTERTAINMENT being RIIZE.
I hope it isn't too confusing.
Plus SUPERM has 4 members from NCT ...well 3...1 of them is Lucas the others are Taeyong and Mark from 127 and Ten from WAYV(Lucas was in WAYV).
Basically, NCT are now divided into 4 groups:
1) NCT 127 - 9 members
2) NCT Dream - 7 members
4) WayV - 7 members
5) NCT U (united) - means that from those 3 different units (127, dream, wayv) could join if the song fit them. So, the members for each songs might be different everytime.
Nct is limitless, means that many other members could have join. So, we will have more members and more new units in the future.
Now we have 2 new members, Shotaro and Sungchan. They do not have any specific unit yet.
Mark and Haechan is in 127, dream and U.

- NCT 127 concept is surrounded by their name which comes from the coordinates of Seoul Korea which is 127 their goal is to start from Seoul Korea and spread K-pop all around the world.
NCT U: stands for Neo Culture Technology United. This is a group where all members from the group can come a collab on songs and projects, some examples are, 7th sense, Make a Wish, and Universe. This means that all members are technically in this subunit, they just get picked depending on the concept.
WAYV: is a Chinese subunit but this doesn’t mean that all Chinese members of NCT are in it or that all the members are Chinese because they are not. The group consists of seven members.

- NCT is a group that has no limit of ending which means that they will keep adding members for however long that they decide to keep the group, they have still not announce the date that the new subunit which is NCT Hollywood will be debuting but there are some expectations that they will come out with this new subunit this year or the next year.
