- News 4 reporter Katherine Creag, who for years welcomed Today in New York viewers with her big smile and vivacious personality, passed away suddenly Wednesday night. Some of her colleagues shared what it meant to work alongside Kat, who had an enduring joy that brightened everyone around her. .

I can't believe that this beautiful woman is no longer with us without any clear explanation of how she died. I am truly heartbroken over this. 💔😭 I watched her every morning and who would have known that Wednesday morning would be the last time that I would see her alive? It was stated in the video that she suffered from a medical condition. The fact that it was not further specified could have been at the family’s request. Whatever the cause it is none of our business. Those in journalism or entertainment of any form have an inalienable right to a private life and death. My condolences, prayers, and thoughts are with her family and friends during this time.
Yes no mention of the cause of her death except saying due to medical condition. She could have committed suicide.

I don’t even live in a News 4 viewing area, but I just saw a report from Ms. Creag last week. I am so sorry to hear of her passing and extend my condolences to her family, friends, & colleagues at News 4 💔💔 so grateful for what she did when she was here & am so in awe of her dedication and optimism.
Some Co-workers called her "Tita" which in Tagalog means Aunt ,which is her native language in the Philippines. They considered her family.

Seeing the way you put in tireless efforts put in no matter the weather conditions. If it wasn't for that spirit that drive that beauty beautiful heart i believe no one would have been waking up early in the mornings we as viewers didn't wake up early in mornings she woke us up. You will never be forgotten.
