LAND BASED BARRAMUNDI FISHING WITH LIVE MULLET

I head down the river with my family to do some live bait fishing for Barra. We are joined by Squirly from the ‪@chummingup3524‬ podcast. The fishing is good considering it is the middle of winter and Barra normally like warmer water. Cheers and hope you enjoy

Any tips on how to identify mullet species? QLD fisheries website says cant take diamond scale or sea mullet under 30cm but doesn't say how to tell different species apart. They are also quite often patrolling the fishing areas nearby to me

Hey mate the best way to tell diamond scale mullet is usually by their bright yellow tail. The fishes of Australia is usually a good website for identifying different fish species. Otherwise you might be able to ask Queensland fisheries them self for clear identification since they are the ones you will have to deal with on the mater. Otherwise it’s hard to explain without personally showing you them when it comes to mullet
