- A sick Canadian and a Filipino wedding... I ended up getting really ill the day before I was supposed to be part of the entourage for a wedding in the Philippines.

Dues symbolize love, peace and happiness for marriage.
Anders Gether Sørensen it is also traditional in indian wedding.Hindus consider rice as a symbol of wealth and prosperity. So, they shower it on the married couples to bless them a future full of wealth and well being. It is a superstitious belief and like all ones of that nature all over the world, those who strongly believe in it, follow it religiously.
In Denmark, it is not superstition. Just a fun touch for a wedding.

i think its alright it would teach his stomach immune of those water germs, he needs to travel more so most likely he can drink more spring water. as a saying goes youll get sick , sick and sick until you get immune of it and i beleive its true.

Be careful with what you eat and drink! At the first sign, you boil water with young guava leaves! They said, it will kill the eggs of amoeba.

James O'Connor As long as you drink clean bottled water from a legitimate grocery or convenience store (reputable brands of bottled water are Wilkins, Absolute, Viva, and Hidden Spring) and stay away from raw food like salads, you should be fine. :) Also, if you're going to eat fruits, make sure they're peeled. Five-star hotels are generally safe when it comes to salads and water, but be careful anywhere else. I hope you'll have a good trip! :)
I have been to the Philippines many times and, thankfully, only got sick once and I think it was nerves more than anything. It was the first time I met my future father-in-law! I had eaten green mango with bagoong just before. I got up in the middle of my first conversation with him, ran out to the garden, and lost my lunch. True story. Ha-ha!

Kyle, before you eat anything please wash/rinse them and always wash your hands. Also be sure that your food is cooked well and watch what you drink. Please don't try to drink the water in the river or anywhere else. Drink the bottled water. Sisterly advice. Hope you'll feel better soon...

I feel you kulas bcoz I've experienced that too 10yrs ago.
Some people say you are now sensitive to any food that contains bad bacteria and it will recall the sickness.. For me i think you are immune to parasites :) your will body adapt any harmful bacteria.
I'm not a doctor but base on my experience.
