- Agglomerative Hierarchical Clustering Single link Complete link Clustering by Dr. Mahesh Huddar
This video discusses, how to create clusters using Agglomerative Hierarchical Clustering for the given data point?
Consider the following set of 6 one dimensional data points: 18, 22, 25, 42, 27, 43
Apply the agglomerative hierarchical clustering algorithm to build the hierarchical clustering dendrogram.
Merge the clusters using Min distance and update the proximity matrix accordingly.
Clearly show the proximity matrix corresponding to each iteration of the algorithm.

exam ke ek din pehle dekh raha hu. teacher ne to kuch theek se padhaya hi nai THANKYOU SIR ALOT #bestsirevaa

2:53. Sir i am not particularly understanding what you did from here. You told the 27th row and column to be removed but instead you merged taking out minimum value among those 2
Yeah there should be 17 instead of 15
I think it should be 15 only sir has done the question with taking min instead of max for the linkage please do correct me if am wrong
@@kannandakshnamurthy9850 i later found out that sir is taking the minimum values while merging them,
Even I got the same confusion. I retained 17 out of 17 and 15 for row containing 25 and 27, thereby deleting row and column of 27 . So, for Step-3, the value under column and row containing 42 and 43 is 17 instead of 15 as mentioned here in the explanation.
nice teaching sir

Sir what is the relation between distance threshold and no of clusters? Is it inversely proportion?
Sir how can we identify it is single link or complete link structure?
if we take min distance between 2 points while clustering then its single if we take max or higher distance between 2 points then its gonna be complete
Thank you sir

after removing 27th row , there should be 17 not 15
yes but in the video they showed 17 what is correct 15 or 17
17 is correct
15 is correct because compare to 15 and 17 , 15 is lesser value
It should be 17. after removing 27 column and row , 25 row and column values will remain right? Pls tell the correct one
As 25 and 27 are in a same cluster, 15 is correct because 42 is greater than 25 and 27, so distance of 27 to 42 is 15… If it was less than 25 and 27, lets say example 20, then distance between 25 and 20 would be taken which is 5
Really helpful... Thank you Sir

Need CURE algorithm
what if 2 distance points are same how will we merge
its a sequential processes so which ever one you calculate first will get merged first thats how it works in programs so you can do the same in numerical examples
Wow. You made it very easy to understand. Thank you Sir

@@MaheshHuddarSir please solve this question
Two clusters C1 and C2 are given as:
C1 = {2, 5, 7, 9} C2 = {14, 22, 26, 27}
Calculate the total within cluster variations for C1 and C2. Comments on your result and
sensitivity of the outliers.
thank you so much
