  • Team Wild's Ian Harford heads for the Ardgarten Forest in Scotland Wild West for red stag hunt of epic proportions. Everything here is uphill and the stags are roaring out across the mountains. With so many stags and a tricky wind to contend with, the boys are going to need all their skill to harvest one of these magnificent animals

    now i see why my grandfather loves hunting...it's not only the joy when you pull the trigger and take down your prey...but when you stalk, when you stick with the bushes, the rock, the nature...haha, my grandfather used to hunt muntjac when he was still with us here in the world, in my country muntjac usually called as "kijang"...lovely video..thanks for the joyfulll vid, team wild tv...

    Brilliant shot. 185 grain bullet drops them on the spot. I use a .270 with Norma 130 grain and they drop them like a rock.

    Another quality Video there Ian. the best shot I have seen: looked like a pupped with the strings cut. straight down, no messing. would you, given the opportunity have attempted the shot with the wolverine?

    My father did a hunt in West Scotland, when he was stationed there. And, it is huge Stag!! Really wish I could do a hunt there!

  • @TeamWildTV
    @TeamWildTV  12 років тому

    No, not a chance. Firstly shooting a deer in Scotland would be illegal, plus it was a difficult enough shot with a .30-06 - let alone a 100ftlb airgun. At that range the Wolverine would simply not have enough energy to bring down a large animal.

    Both are great rounds - I use Mega in .308 & .30-06 and Natralis in .300 winmag. I loge the Mega on short range stuff because the 185 grain bullet is like a sledgehammer - it deforms perfectly at close range and NOTHING escapes. The Natralis is a lead free bullet and the 170 grain offers the same terminal performance at longer ranges as a much bigger bullet - however, they are a lot more expensive, so I dont use them for my 'everyday' hunting. Hope this helps! :-)

    I've used one in the desert, mountains, jungle, snow covered peaks and swamps - the M77 ALWAYS delivers and has never let me down. Rough? Don't get me wrong, they're not a $10,000 custom rifle, but my idea of rough is a cartridge not extracting as a buffalo charges or your action being frozen shut when a grizzly is on the move. That NEVER happens with an M77.

    I was basicly talking about Red Stags. I probably should have put it in context of that plus if you are an American that wants to hunt the Red Stag you will spend on airfare, lodging, meals etc. Remember I put a dollar sign not a pound sign. I'm sure you can get cheaper hunts but from what I see most places want $5,000 for the hunt which includes the 17.5% tax, $25 for ammo, $80 for the fire arms permit. So thats $5,105 just for the hunt. Now include the rest and it will be around $10,000.

    because the AR-15 suck in every thing but target shooting, i'd never take the risk to seriously wound a red stag with the 5.56. when hunting i always think "the bigger, the better".
    maybe an AR-10 type rifle in 7.62-51 nato (.308)

    I highly doubt that we will be allowed to bow hunt any time soon considering we're not even allowed handguns. The reason this is, is because the laws aren't influenced by hunters, farmers, gamekeepers or anyone in agriculture but by animal rights protesters in London who have no idea how we hunt and why.

    For living in a place that's EXTREMELY hard on firearm laws, I'm still jealous that you guys get to use silencers freely, where in the US if I wanted to purchase one, I would have to file federal paperwork, send a $200 tax stamp, wait 6 months for approval, and then pay $3,000 for the silencer.

    Sorry mate, but that's total bollocks. This hunt cost £350 in total, plus tips. Not sure where you get your information from, but you're way off the mark here. Of course there are expensive red stags - just as there are expensive whitetails. Not sure what your point it, but make sure your information is accurate before posting

    All, to hunt in England, Scotland and all the UK it will cost you an arm and a leg!!!!!! Don't think that it's cheap. It's a wealthy sport now! This hunt would cost around $4,500.00 or more not including the airfare and other things. The $ 4,500.00 is just the hunt alone! If getting a Red Stag is worth $10,000.00 have at it. I'll stick with the good ol American Whitetail.

      LeoandConnorgaming it’s complicated to go hunting. You can’t just go. You need a gun, a license for the gun, ammo, be a certain age or be accompanied by an adult, have the landowners permission, get the right gear, a license to hunt different animals like deer, you need to do a test for them. I play the hunter and I love it. I wish the laws on hunting were more like America’s laws

    just too bad the uk doesn't understand the desire to hunt for a good trophy instead of just wanting to weed out the old or malformed stags - the result of no organized game management except for the rules each estate chooses
