Mastering Necklace Design with Bead Design Board

If you’re new to jewellery making, then check out this tutorial on how to use a bead design board. In the process you’ll make this beautiful necklace if you follow along. Jewelry making is quite easy really, it just takes patience. This is a beginner project so it’s a really good place to start. I walk you through how to design a necklace - literally my process for designing a necklace - how I lay out the beads and decide what goes where.

Very pretty necklace. Thanks for walking us through the design process. I noticed you crimped the crimp bead but didn’t use a cover? What goes into your decision to use or not use a cover? I also would like to know how you choose wire over nylon cord?

Hi Lori, to be honest I hate crimp covers with a vengeance! I can never get them to sit properly and I struggle to get them on. Since making this video, I've discovered my new favourite tool - the Magical Crimping Tool which I use in this video ua-cam.com/video/AvKrxRCxjCQ/v-deo.html. It makes the crimp bead look like a little round metal bead so you don't need a crimp cover.
