It's a bit ironic that the twitch CEO presented the streamer of the year award to a youtube streamer lmao. But also she does in fact deserve it and it's not like she doesn't drive views to twitch via offline tv group streams anyways. Plus DJ Clancy seems like a really cool guy who probably doesn't actually care about that kind of stuff. BUT I still find it hilariously ironic.
It's funny that we still call them offline tv group when she hasn't played with a single person from OTV in a while.

It is still a popularity award 70% fan vote and 30% panel. And Rae is definitely the most popular of all the nominees. She even said she thinks Emily is the most deserving in terms of content made last year
I think all did. However, I think the first time this award is received is very appropriate for her, as she has set a great example over time of what a female streamer can achieve and strive for - helping pave the way.
Emily had won awards already which was due to her, Valkyrae has a bigger community then any of these and she didn’t win last year, fanfan is amazing but I think her switch from irl may have been.. idk the word to say…. To viewers… IMO watching all these women Valkyrae really deserved it as well as any women in this category🎉
Fanfan, Emily and Emiru have recently gotten popular but Rae is still more popular than them especially outside streaming. Even the big communities in twitch likes her.

Yes the other people in the category might have better content or viewership but Rae broke a lot of barriers for streamers last year, being part of music videos, doing Voice Acting for animated movies, having movie roles, meeting K-Pop icons, launching “Hello Sunshine Collective” with Reese Witherspoon where they share life experiences with other women, she will also be attending Milan Fashion Week, and so much more..
