I really want to see Bucky fall in love with someone. Not a cute flirtation, a deep genuine aching LOVE. Someone who he feels safe with. It’s gonna be a huge deal for him to share his body with someone of his own free will, after his body was taken from him for so long. Love scenes for movies are usually gratuitous, but this would be the rare occurrence where seeing him with someone in a moment of vulnerability and intimacy would be a massive character building moment. He deserves that moment.

Yes that would be so nice. I picture his last occurrence within the MCU, living in a costal town somwhere in south America, coming home from work (mayb as language teacher) going into his garden, where his partner (gender is not important)is watching his child making his or hers first footsteps. He would be smiling, taking the child in his arms and giving his partner a kiss on the forehead. The camera zooming out of the garden, back to the shore and than to a sunset over the sea. Goodbye Bucky...... But I think they will just kill him off at some point. :(
In comics, he falls in love with Nat. Well in films, I hope makers will make him marry someone, settle down, and die an old man warm in his bed like Seb want him to. *After exploring his hero arc for course.*

Bucky deserves the world. Marvel HAS to do him justice. Give him a good life, a happy one! This character arc is so special, they must not ruin it by killing him off in the next one just like that! Great edit tho! Captures his life perfectly
Sam is the therapist Bucky needed, What the hell was that old woman, she literally don't know how to deal with a person going though this much shit, she was like integorating him for the things he did as Winter Soldier
Exactly! She was a terrible therapist the way she so bluntly rubbed all his issues in his face instead of being empathetic and trying to be patient and helpful while he was struggling
Except she wasn’t there to heal him. She was his SHIELD-appointed therapist. And… *no* therapist is ready to deal with the amount of shit he’s going through. Her job was to make sure he wasn’t going to snap and go all Winter Soldier again. And to be fair, he wasn’t really interested in participating in therapy.
Sam who kept making jokes about him being a crazy assassin and who told him that the only way for him to recover and heal from being Hydra's slave was to live in service of Hydra's victims, making Bucky accountable for actions he had no control over and validating guilt that belonged to Hydra instead? Sam who, when Bucky does allow himself to be vulnerable and opens up about why he's so pressed about the shield in therapy, stonewalls him and doesn't even acknowledge the fact that Bucky has let his guard down for a moment? Maybe the movies version of Sam but Sam in TFAWS would only help reinforce Bucky's self hate. Hell, the only person in the whole damn show to really see Bucky as a victim and not some villain who needs to choose redemption and make amends for his evil ways is Zemo. Maybe he should have been his therapist instead.
I saw a compilation video of Sebastian at conventions. At one a girl started the longing speech and he sort of got a glazed look on his face as if he was going to comply and then dropped his microphone.

Dean winchester has that too trauma he lost his mother twice he watched his own brother die multiple times for him he found out his father had sacrificed himself for him and then he went literally to hell
Seeing Bucky cry with so much gratitude was...💔💔💔. But it's completely understandable why. He's been through hell, and now he has the chance to be free from those nightmares he's been living with. Real talk, and don't tell anyone, all right? I cried too!
for me it felt like tears of relief. All the fear of again being used by someone hydra agent fell off his shoulders. I am hoping they continue to show more men cry and deal with their emotions in an open way
This was amazing. Seriously. Also, this could stand alone as a heart-wrenching short film without having watched anything Marvel. I would not have believed that much of Bucky's story could be contextualized in such a short video. Holy crap.
9:04 ...THEY SET UP THE BAR FIGHT SCENE AS THAT IMPORTANT, AND YET THEY NEVER GAVE US THE PAYOFF???!!! WHY????? WWWHHHYYY????? It could have played so well into Bucky's arc! Yeah he is been through more then wanda and thor cuz he carry guilt and thats the worse thing you can carry cuz you be reminded of that guilt every single day that and the fact that he never truly forgave himself
@@lewishamilton.f1.44 Also just the fact that unlike Wanda and other characters he was tortured on a regular basis for years: he was stripped of his agency, identity and his personhood for years. I can't even concieve of literally having your memories removed from you, because memories are some of the most personal and special part of your identity as a person. They should be inviolable. He didn't even have autonomy over his own body either since he was forced to submit to torture, forced into the freezing chamber etc. If you look at the movies every time he's being attended to by doctors there are gaurds with guns aimed at him, ready to shoot if he tries to escape or snaps. Or just refuses to comply.
This. Thank you so much for this gorgeous video. I never had any strong feelings towards Bucky until recently when I marathoned every single MCU film + TFATWS, he’s one of my favourite characters now. I relate to him so much and to the trauma he endured. Obviously the circumstances that led to both his and mine are very different but they manifest themselves in very similar ways. Not trusting people, believing everyone is out to get you, struggling to truly open up and be vulnerable, blaming yourself for situations or things that happened that were not in you’re control or in anyway you’re fault, and very poignantly for me, the line “I can’t trust my own mind.” Half the time I trust my instincts and what I think, the other times I’m not sure if it’s my anxiety, depression, or trauma talking. Colouring my vision, my mind, and my spirit. ‘they’re going to betray you’ ‘they secretly hate you’ ‘one day they’ll leave and you’ll be alone again’. And the scene where Ayo says “you are free” after his trigger words no longer affect him was so powerful, it nearly made me cry. If I ever meet Sebastian Stan I will need to thank him for portraying Bucky and his trauma in such a raw, realistic, and beautiful way. Thank you James “Bucky” Barnes for making me feel seen. May peace and love, weather platonic, familial or romantic, find you in this life.
I haven’t seen one show that plays PTSD and war regret properly. Like you can’t describe what it’s like to kill a person, it sends people into madness because they actually realize what they did. I personally was the one getting shot, which he also feels. The wanting to change anything, find any way to make it better and the absolute worst thing. Telling the father also does nothing but let them know more details about the death, doing nothing to fix it and after you say it nothing is fixed, more is ruined but you HAVE to tell them. You are the victim but you feel like you did it wrong. No matter how much science you learn, no matter how rational you get the human brain makes this permanent so you feel like there is really no getting better. That’s where anyone who’s seen combat lives. On top of that every single person except for Steve is dead, he can’t even have basic friend compassion, the new cap certainly doesn’t look like his friend with how he’s talking.
