The guitar community needs more of this content. Especially entry level guitarists. It’s equally as important to understand the anatomy and maintenance of your instrument as it is knowing how to play it. These videos inspire me to invest in the equipment and start working on guitars myself
I would really like yo do this on a cheap guitar i bought. Its an ES style guitar i git for like 200 bucks. The body and electronics/hardware are avtually pretty good for the price. The neck has defects though onthe fingerboard around some frets that look exactly like what was going on here. I dont have the tools yet, but once i have tools for fret leveling and crowning, Im totally going try this! Great video.
I imagine it’ll be alcohol based, so IPA (Isopropyl alcohol), methanol or ethanol - or, if you have some acetonitrile and deionised or distilled water, a 70:30 mix of acetonitrile:water. There is one caveat though, I don’t *know* so it *is* literally just limited to my imagination - and I can imagine a naked woman in her mid 20’s riding bareback on a camel whilst eating a Big-Mac and juggling hand grenades, so, I’d Google it to be safe. 🤷♂️ 😉👍
I like to see more elaborate work on how to make the edges of the fret round and smooth without harming the wood of fret board. What tools to use? What kind of necessary steps for prevention? Cheers from Indonesia.

I don't understand why you have to heat up the frets with a soldering iron first, I never see you re-add solder later on. Is it just how they used to do it and now we just use CA glue? Or maybe you are heating up old glue? I donno lol
Great work, but I would be removing those divots from the fret beds before I would be doing any refretting. Otherwise you are just wasting your time and someone else’s money. The fret bed divots will have those new frets wore out in no time.
I got mine re-shaped and it was abt $180, but they charged for string change, the strings, the re-shape, and switching two saddles for some reason, so the re-shape itself should be around $100
For gods sake, buy some quality tools. Radius blocks, diamond files too, and clean up the frets better. I see tool marks and scratches on the finished product. Do better especially if you record a video. Preserves your mistakes forever. You are on par with the local hacks here, who claim to be "Guitar Tecjs", but you wont get professional players of any merit with work like that. No wonder Nashville players no longer use Glasser and come to us.

What are you wiping away the glue with? (assuming that is glue you’re adding after hammering the new frets in)

Less dings with a press. Initially. You still need to tap them home. I use a nylon tipped hammer.
