Beach colours:
-Deco Art buttermilk, desert sand & champagne gold

-Pebeo precious gold
Ocean colours:
-Artist Loft brilliant blue, metallic cobalt blue, turquoise, flow acrylic white
-Americana bahama blue
-Craftsmart Bright silver
-Canvas 30" x 48" (76.2cm x 121.9cm)
-Flood Floetrol
-Water
-Betty Crocker Icing scraper
-small plastic pallet knife
-sheet of plastic for swipes
-large piece of poly for protecting work surface
-squeeze bottles or mixing cups or canning jars
-stir sticks
-paper towels
-masking tape
-string
-jumbo push pins to raise the canvas off the table
-blow dryer
-gloves if desired

Whew! Scared me when you poured the heavy load of black in to it but you persevered & it turned out beautifully!!!
It always turns out different. Normally when you swipe over with black you get nice big cells and I was hoping for that to make it look like rocks on the beach. I only got small cells so I had to change it up and go to plan B. Art is like that. Especially with dirty pours and swipes. The results are always different. Thanks for your comment!

Beautiful! I saw that you've added 50% Floetrol but I did not see cells.. can you pls. explain? thanks!
When I’m doing a large painting like this it is helpful to extend the paint and assist with the flow by adding floetrol. That is the main reason. I didn’t add it to get cells.
There is a bit of a science to having cells appear. The thickness of your paint, the type of paint, different types of white. some paints are heavier than others so depends on what colour you put down first.
I’m not an expert on cells. I’m sure you have watched other videos and they have advertised getting cells with no silicone. Yes, that can happen. If I had of swiped once and not with the heavy black then I would probably get cells. In this painting it was not what I was needing so kept swiping.
This type of art is always a bit of an experiment.
That sand was reminding me of a Galvaston Beach after an oil spill 🤪

Hi where did you buy your measured squeeze bottle please? i live in Australia
I buy them from the dollar store. They are just ketchup squeeze bottles with measurements on side.
When my painting dried it cracked what am I missing in the combination of pants that I might be doing wrong that when it dries it cracks
It can be a few different things.
- temperature of room is too cold
-paint layer is too thick or too thin
-cheap dollar store paint perhaps
I’m surprised her beach didn’t crack with the amount of paint. Wouldn’t it have been easier to just scrape the beach and start over? Newbie wondering
