19.07.2022 - A565 near Bonn, Northrine-Westfalia, Germany - Two cars flipped after a three car collision
On tuesday (19.07.2022), three cars (Toyota Avensis, Mazda 2, Audi Q5) crashed on the A565 near Bonn, Germany. The Mazda and the Toyota landed upside-down, the Audi came to a stop on a concrete wall. Four people were hurt, the three drivers with minor injuries and the passenger of the toyota with severe, but non lifethreatening injuries.
Due to the chaotic crash scene, a specialized accident investigation team (german: VU-Team) perpetuated the evidence.
A recovery company towed all three cars. The Audi was placed in a special container for hybrid- and electric cars due to the lithium ion accumulator to prevent it from a fire.

Glad there was a comment in the description about the Audi needing special handling because it is an electric vehicle. Hope all the drivers and passengers survived and are now safely home.

I watched the recovery of a Tesla video last week also in Germany which had less damage and it was like they was dealing with nuclear waste….

@@richardlaw5737 Until we know what causes the batteries to catch fire or explode, this is the recommended procedure from Tesla.

Thankfully unlike the other 2 it stayed upright which shows that EVs are much safer as the weight of the battery should keep them firmly on the ground where they belong & make them impossible to turn over Thankfully there are no known incidents of EVs or Hybrids overturning & i hope it stays that way as if one of these went over it could be highly dangerous & could cause a massive explosion like a bomb going off .
