Northeast Philadelphia History Network meetings, held 1st Wednesdays at historic Pennepack Baptist Meetinghouse, 8732 Krewstown Rd Phila 19115, are sponsored by the Friends of Northeast Philadelphia. Local historian Lou Lescas presents a comprehensive pictorial history of the evolution of the Northeast Philadelphia rowhouse, from the 1870s to the 1980s. Though not as grand as in some parts of Philadelphia, these residences emphasize the working class roots of the Northeast, as well as changes, from concrete and asphalt rectangular blocks, to curved streets, cul-de-sacs and parklike settings.
