- There was a good ice crust up til 8400ft and then conditions were ok. Coverage was better than expected with not as much poking through the surface as expected. Be careful out there!

The 2 Dans look like they had a great day in the back country. What awesome scenery. Thank you for sharing. 😊
Thanks for watching. We had a good day out!
Nice shredding up on Luther . Isn't lovers leap nearby? Climbing area. It's been so long since I lived there I don't remember everything. We also woul ski an area called strawberry on the way to Kirkwood I think. Lol
Thanks mate! Lovers leap is heading down 50. Just outside of strawberry.
My wife and I have been enjoying your videos! I'm curious about Powderhouse. Did you record your route that day? E.g. Strava? That is the app we use for mountain biking and snowboarding (and etc).
Glad you enjoy them. Yes I do use Strava. Here is the link. strava.app.link/0EdImk0jLGb. Send me an email at Tahoe mountainlife@gmail.com if you want to tour some day.
Just curious. You said that you were heading towards Luther Pass, so…the location was “Waterhouse” (and not Powderhouse)…right?
Hey there. There are 2 small peaks in that area. One is Waterhouse and one is powderhouse. We were on powderhouse

Oh, ok. Thanks for the info! I’ve been to that area so many times (hiking & snowshoeing). I’ve seen Waterhouse countless times. I didn’t know about Powderhouse. I’m coming up next month. I’ll have to check it out!

I think I see it just NW of Waterhouse. So, if that’s it, I’ve seen it before. Now, I understand why I have never heard of it before, though. It’s showing as an adjacent peak that’s unnamed on all 3 of my maps apps. I’ll pull out a paper map and see if it’s marked. I’m such a map nerd. Thanks again. 🤓
On an adventure to say the least, next level integration until the elevation is decreased.
Well said!
