- After a harrowing incident leads to a critical rescue on his first day in AK, Dakine team skier Karl Fostvedt seeks out further education to expand his skills in big mountain terrain. With the goal of becoming the best mountain man and backcountry partner he can be, Karl blends his high octane ski skills with the calm and patient mindset of a guide and throws down on some of AK's most daunting terrain.

This guy is better than any skier or boarder I've ever seen. Effortlessly finding lines on such extreme terrain!
The way he leapt out and hugged Karl as soon as he was dug out ... solid rescue.
Lets goooo! Love seeing athletes turning a focus to safety, avalanche education, and mountain skills beyond skiing, and then telling stories about doing that is just the cherry on top. Setting a solid example Karl, thank you!
Wow !!! What a rescue... really great ...
Beautiful skier. Spends almost as much time in the air as on the snow!
What a brother, that's the love of a friend.
Amazing. That terrain in AK is supernatural.
That was the coolest downhill action I've seen since Ramón said "Oh, I love gravity" in the original Happy Feet (2006).
Sensational. Brilliant. Awesome….what more can I say?
Ohh shit! The other guy with snowboard was lucky indeed. Not to die on Avalance. Bit more snow, and...
Looks fun but very dangerous. Been once in avalance in Val d'isere off piste (with local guide and a group of 4 skiers). Then there was only pipers in the neck, no airbags.
That was my last run in off piste. Life won over adrenaline.
I shed a tear watching this... Goddamn you guys do sick stuff!
all cool shit. all that matters is to stay humble. regardless of training, experience, status, cool videos...humility will keep you and your clients alive. chill. and be grateful no matter how legendary you become. True legends, respect beyond anything anyone can grasp.
That last jump was insane. This one needs many more views!
Beauty skier, huge lines.
Stunning descents
Amazing!
Wow, just WOW!

💪💪
Music ➡ Warcub / Playing with fire 😉
Ripper. Charges but super light on his feet
What’s ur speed going down these runs?
Wise one there. Looking at the bigger picture after his body can't take the abuse of a professional athlete, but still committed to the mountains
Crazy - far out man! Probably only a handful of people in the world can ski this - at least like that!
За пределами понимания, что такое возможно!
Role model!
Awesome video. Where's 4:40?
might not have watched anything better than 05:43
Save the Winterstick!
The ultimate sacrifice - skiing Alaska 😂
lines some lines whaaaaatttttt thought i went to ak
Only a matter of time.
J aim pas le bruit des hélicoptères en montagne. Merci de monter à ski ou à pied.
Kindly, if you want more viewers and want to promote Karl Fostvedt, consider showing the most basic data point: What is "AK"?
Hey sorry, AK is Alaska!
Uh oh oh no uh oh oh no teal uh oh😅😂😅😂
Takových jsou plný hřbitovy, když je najdou ! Hazard ze životem !😢
AK 47 with my Haines underwear on!
With all due respect, the snowboarder's line sucked, and he carried no speed and slid into a crevasse looking like a kook way over his head. Literally.. The rest of the video was epic.
