I really like your style of instruction. I was an enlisted Marine and later a USAF officer and aviator mainly flying C-130s.
Going through the very first phases of my flight training back in 1985 was the first time I ever learned the memorization aid of 'port wine is red, therefore port is red'.
Anyways, your style of instruction reminds me of the proof positive style/manner of instruction I received in both the Marine Corps and USAF in the 1980s. And even though I have a bachelor's and J.D. degrees, those young NCOs and company grade officers were the best instructors I have learned from in my 66 years.

I’m extremely flattered and humbled. Thank you so much for your kind words. In our world, praise doesn’t come often and I’m okay with that, I know what I know and am happy to share but the acknowledgment feels great, maybe even a little Misty. Thanks again!!!

Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge in these videos! I live on Cape Cod also with my wife and kids and we bought our first boat (Key West Sportsman 1900) in August this year. It was an exciting and stressful time because my family wanted to GO and I wanted to Learn…EVERYTHING…first. You can guess who won…not me. 😂 We had some great times and we also showed our true colors as first time boaters a few times. I plan to spend this winter watching all your videos and consuming as much boating content as I can so I’m more prepared for a safe and fun 2024 on the water! Any in person boating courses you’d recommend here on the Cape? Thanks again!

My wife and I use the clock position method. She'll yell Crab Pot floats, your 2 o'clock. Haven't hit any yet.

Thanks again for your comments! I think that's wonderful if you are both reading off the same sheet of music.
Quick sea story: I was holding training on the buoy deck with my guys and I said "we're going to go clockwise to each station until we get it right". I noticed all the blank stares looking back at me. In the age of cell phones and digital watches, no one knew what clockwise meant:) Thanks again for sharing.
