Abandoning ego and accepting that sometimes our bodies change the plan for us is a blessing to understand (eventually for me).
🤝
Fergus Crawley and Alan Thrall are the reason I've been pretty much running once to twice per week every week for the last few months now. Nothing crazy, just going for a 4-5 mile run next to my regular weight training and honestly, it feels refreshing and rejuvenating from a mental but also from a recovery perspective. I feel like I'm getting some blood flowing, getting warm and moving, having a nice change of pace, you are out in nature, seeing stuff, nice group activity to run with friends, and getting the head clear and as someone who absolutely dreads running on a treadmill (super boring), I think it works quite well for me.
Awesome to hear!
Train untamed!!!
did u just jump to running 5miles straight away or u worked up to it?
@@io-rj6sk just came in for a tiny jog and then over time slowly started to jog longer distances
@@io-rj6sk if you can run 1km without getting too winded at a steady zone 2 pace, you're more than capable of running 5 miles, your legs may hurt a little because they're not used to it but you'll be surprised at what you can achieve :)
Thanks for another great video with some very useful insights about hybrid training.
You're genuinely such an inspiration man, thanks for the amazing content

Thanks for the story it's really amazing how much more the body is capable of! Okay I'm now an aspirational hybrid amateur! Keep making great videos!
Only just stumbled across your channel but love the content! I am embarking on a similar (albeit much smaller) journey having also got a bit bored of powerlifting, and after doing my first Hyrox last year it opened my eyes to hybrid training too. I've now made the switch to CrossFit and I'm loving this new way of training!
You put your best efforts into making this vlog look perfect and it is.
Great video, alot of great knowledge! Thanks for always sharing your personal experiences!!
Thanks for watching!
Fergus! Once again you’ve inspired me. I’ve just purchased the OMNIA PERFORMANCE strength and Olympic Training plan. Time to transition from my know specific training program and work towards specifics and smashing my first Olympic Tri in August!!! Thanks for the content 💪🏼

Wonderful work for warm up ❤
Such good advice, thank you.
I’m currently pivoting from running to cycling on my trainer because I have a cast on my foot. The idea of competing in various disciplines is what keeps me going. This summer I have committed to a Sky race (mountain running), a 100k gravel race and a Spartan beast with over 2000 meters of vert. I’m 62 by the way and loving life!
Excellent content, Keep it up
Thanks for guiding us

Very informative video
Excellent and very inspiring
This has been the most useful and educational video I have watched in many years. I’m 42 done various training but mainly CrossFit 4-5 sessions at 6am every week. Also enjoy running . Been full sending it and wondering why I’m hardly able to move and things are slowing on both. Seems sensible now but when you hit the class or run it’s hard not to push . I will be taking your advice as I would like to run a half and compete at basic CrossFit level . Thanks fergus great advice
Good job 👏👏
That's great to watch
Fantastic tips
Amazing job 👍
Good work❤❤❤
Great video
Fergus, first thank you for all the content you have put out over the years. You are one of the few content creators I have watched every video you’ve put out to the point I actually had to calm myself down because I had to wait a week for a new video. I stumbled on your channel when I began the journey of running my first marathon. Going from zero running to completing said marathon in a 10 week training block. I am currently 3 weeks out from race day and on my past two long runs (14 & 19 miles) my feet essentially gave out on me. Do you have any tips on keeping the pain down once I get deeper into my runs? I really appreciate any feedback. Regardless if you can get to this or not keep it up! You’ve actually convinced me the next step is completing a triathlon.
This is inspirational as well as educational.
In the last couple of years i've come from being picked up by the ambulance with chest pains after moving three boxes downstairs to... being strong-ish and starting to be able to run again. My goals are not objective but to self-identify as a lifter and as a runner (being a hybrid athlete i guess), and my metric isn't volume or intensity, but rather consistency over time. Overcoming daily friction, changing identity.
The way to go. With running and training mma to stay consistent I changed thinking: ‚i run and train mma‘ to ‚i am a runner and fighter‘ totally helped
Keep it up bro 👍
Good job great work
