This just worked for me. Its the right ear side to open. I did left first in error. I couldnt locate the little diode. As I was wiggling the wires the headset turned on, declared battery full, and is now working fine. Thanks for this video.
Thanks so much for posting. My Q20 did not have the diode BUT by disassembling I could see one of the buttons was displaced and jammed. By repositioning the button, the charging works again. Without your video this thing is just a boat anchor. ;-)
My red light was coming on and then turning off after less than a minute. I think your video might have indirectly showed me the problem by mentioning that 3A is too much. I have an older power bank that delivers only 2.1A and it's able to maintain the charge. So thanks for the help!
I replaced the battery on the Q20 last December with 1000mah (it had 720mah)-- but now the headband plastic is falling apart (last few inches up to the pivot points)! I braced it with new plastic and duct-tape. If I get 2 years the $10 battery will be worth it. Otherwise it works pretty well, with few glitches.. sometimes the audio is sent at a higher tone when listening to speech.. I have to turn off and reconnect to the source. I kept the Q20 because it has higher total volume than the q45. If interested, the battery size was 10mm thick, 25mm wide, by 30mm long (102530) @ 1000mah this is a rare size but it exists on aliexpress if you search hard enough. I've used premium chargers, so I did not burn out the diode on mine.
@@marcelinodelfin1747 That's what some people have commented below. My headphones are like 3 years old, so maybe they are an older version and the new version changed the circuit board?
goddammit, in my it's already removed. also, I believe the problem could be in battery (left side). I will try to find it. But it works only with p2 cable that came with it.
NOTE: Apparently the newer version of the headphones doesn't have the diode. So this only works for the Q20 headphones from a few years ago.
Yep, mine just stop charging but it doesn't have the diode. It looks like the USB port is damaged.
I couldn't see the diode, but the simple act of taking it apart and reassembling the headphones somehow fixed the issue, so thanks!
someone in the comments said that the newer version doesn't have the diode?
@@DaveWirth it's my case. but it doesn't charge.

My problem exactly! Fixed in 2 mins with your instructions thank you!!
Thank you for your help. My 3-year-old Q20 has the exact same problem and your solution helped immediately! Subscribed.
Thank you, Bro! Just now I have fix it as you say. Just little bit change, I couldn’t take that diod out and I just broke it
worked for me as well! thank you so much!
i probably burned the diode by using a charger that i shouldnt
Man, you saved me from a big burden. I am grateful to you.

I have a Soundcore Life 2 A3023 and I can confirm this guide worked. Thank you sir!
Thanks so much for posting this. I can charge mine forever and still get "battery low". Will try this. Thank you so much again!

@@dega3597same did it work?

Oh my flippin goodness! Thank you so flippin much! You Are AMAZING for making this video! Thank you.
Mine just has shitty battery life (cuts out at about 40-50% battery)... Do you think it's worth replacing the battery or just buying new headphones?

I had the same issue. Your solution worked. Thanks for the video.
Thanks - worked perfectly! Good job at the diagnosis - how did you figure that out?
Somebody else figured it out. I just read it in the comments
hey man, do you think i can use just a usb via laptop to charge it?or will that still be too much voltage?
WTF, i also had the same problem and it started working after removing the diode, Thank you .
thx man, now it is charging back!
Yep, worked for me too. Thanks!
Just fixed mine, thanks!
Maybe ok?
I think i've been charging it with a normal phone adapter and it's been fine.
Just a precaution.
Will this fix work with Q20+? I have some issues with the charging and battery life as well.
Not sure.
I think i must have an older model, because lots of people are saying they don't have that diode on their circuit board.
@@DaveWirth Thanks for the reply. I just opened it recently, but I don't see any diode on both left and right cups.

@@abderrahmene773 unfortunately, no. I could still charge and use it, but it only has 8-10 hours of battery life.
I am so happy😅 thanks so much
Este modelo no trae el diodo zener
This was great! Thank you so much
Would it work on q30?
Maybe i don't know. As some people said in the comments below - this only works on the older models. The new ones have different circuit boards.
solved my problem. thanks
it worked, thanks! How did you find this fix?
It was the top comment of some other youtube video
im having the same problem with q30
I don’t know why I got excited for this lol mine doesn’t even have a diode 🥴
