I would have put the noco plug in the glove box you're going to have to get on your knees every time you go to charge it it's going to be painful

Looking real good! It’s all in the details. If you don’t want those zip ties you could drill in some cable clamps… but like you said you can’t see it with the body on…

I see you installed the 110V connector up in the fender well of WALKNTALL.
    1. Do you think a plastic cord anchor would work to provide strain relief on the back side of the outlet? The metal screw on the bottom could be replaced with a machine bolt and the cord anchor added to the backside of the bolt and tightened with a nut.
    .
    2. I liked where you mounted the charging unit. I understand you did not want to disassemble the charger once you noticed the water tight seal.
Had I known that in advance, I think I would have made a special request that they remove the handle before shipping it to you. If they dont want to do that, then I think I would cut the handle off and leave about a 1/4 inch so the screws that hold the handle from the inside dont get cut off and start rattling around inside where you cannot retrieve them.
    .
    3. I realize that you did not like all of that excess cord directly above the motor.
I was thinking that if it were me, that I would cut the female end of a 2 or 3 outlet extension cord and connect it to the back side of the mounted 3 prong port. Then you would be able to connect 2 different chargers to the 3 prong port at once.
Also you could stretch out the 110V lines from each charger to reach the 2 or 3 port outlet, and then cut off the excess cord and wire in a new 3 prong male plug, so both chargers could run without all of that excess cord.
    .
    4. At 13:14 in the video, you were showing the extra battery tray on the passenger side.
I see that the battery tray rail closest to the existing battery, has quite a few holes, looks pretty chewed up. I dont think I would trust that rail to hold much weight if you decided to put the 12V battery in that tray. The BigBattery 12V Seal battery is still about 55 pounds.
    .
    5. I understand that you want to keep everything watertight and protected from the elements. I also see the underside of carts that usually look like they have been driving through a swamp or mud puddles.
What is your opinion of creating and installing a piece of steel plate that is sort of a U shape that would start in front of the axle and come down at an angle and then go underneath the axle and then go back up at a similar angle behind the axle? \__/
I think this would also protect the transaxle and the electrical connectors on the motor.
I got this idea when I saw a raised up truck that had it in front to protect the engine.
    .
    Thanks for listening.

I like the charging port in the fender well. I might have mounted the charger on the frame rail next to the battery.
I am rebuilding a 2001 ezgo from ground up and have to find a place for the charger as well.
I am looking at the eco skinny battery kit. Any thoughts on the battery?

I’m getting old and my back hurts. I would have put the charger connector on in the stock location

DIY wire loom solution - Take 2" diameter PVC pipe with end caps, paint it black, notch the end cap to allow wires to exit mount it to the cross member and stuff the wires inside. Love the build so far!

Great content, thinking of starting a golf cart restoring business to for something to do on the side. It’s great to see how meticulous your work is. I would of put the noco connector on the drivers side, so you can’t take off while it’s plugged in. Thanks for sharing all your content, Steve from Canada.

I like the lighter side of Ryan. You're hitting your stride.
You wanted "what I would do"......I'll give it to you but there's nothing wrong with what you did and a hundred ways to do things.
    1. Cut the wires down. Just because XYZ company gives you 5 feet of wire that's preterminated doesn't mean you can't put new terminals on in the length you need. Gets rid of the bundles.
    2. I would have put the charger in the extreme front behind the body, cut the handle off and would have put the charge port pointed down behind the headlight.
    3. Put you auxiliary battery up front in the free area created by the lift kit. Put a aluminum panel on each side, no one sees it. And we know some weight on the front end is a good thing for ride quality and anti-wheelie device 😂😂😂
All this is just me and my preference. Just like I'll never have a rear facing seat on a cart again. It's a whole lot better to split the cart and add a front facing kit. Makes the cart worth a ton more

everything super clean as usual ...love your work ... i would have maybe used a pvc tube and color matched it to the frame to hide those wires ...

I like the charger where you put it. In the front of the cart it would have taken a beating. I know it’s waterproof and all put would have had a lot of exposure.

Nice install. I thought about mounting my RoyPow charger in the compartment but with the fan I just thought it's not that big of deal to plug it in (I don't have to charge it often now!). My installer used the pigtail that was included with the battery vs the cart's port. What I really want to do next is either replace the stock ClubCar controller or reprogram the factory to get rid of the regen and maybe try to pick up a little speed.

    • @goldenlife9856
      @goldenlife9856 Рік тому +1

IMHO, you can get the regen turned off but as to speed, the factory controller is never going to do much

Ryan, I think you nailed it. The only thing I would do would be to put a support brace under the back end of the battery. I am sure it is fine, but could a hard bump or drop break the top mount and allow the battery to tip back?

I’m noticing improvement with your video work. Good job. I would not place the Noco in that location. It will only take that one time for someone to jump in your cart not realizing it’s plugged in and drive off with the cord still attached.

Everything you do is clean compared to mine i literally used anything i had laying around for extra wiring and lighting. Did not have any nice wire looming unfortunately. My lighting wiring is the biggest mess though
