    My Favourite thousands sons unit in my testing has been Chaos spawn. 65 points for 2 bodies with an 8" move, t5 4W a 4+ armour 5+ invun and a 5+ FNP is amazing for just playing the objective whilst the rest of your army does its thing. I think they are being slept on even if it doesn't synergise with this style of list.

    So I am going to help explain this nonsense to others. The combo is Disc character dashes out of the transport towards the enemy. Start off your shooting phase you pop all your rules at once. Echoes of the warp for 6 cabal points allows you to use the strategem warp sight (2 cp normally) for free. This allows psyker models to fire indirectly and ignore cover. Next that character can doom bolt 7 cabal points for a bunch of mortal or twist of fate 9 cabal points to remove the units armor save. Then you can use warp time for 5 cabal points to move back. Rules of 10th edition state you cannot get into a transport in a phase you disembarked from one. So the disc character can get back into the rhino because it is a different phase shooting instead of movement. Doing everything cost 27 cabal points but it is unlikely you need both doom bolt, twist of fate, and magnus plus friends to kill the target. You might not doombolt or twist of fate and just do 1 of them. Maybe you sacrifice the character because for extend battle lines and save 5 cabal from war time. Or you use Ahriman and save 9 cabal points by doing twist for free.

      Thanks. Need some clarification on warp sight though. It's not triggered at the start of the shooting phase, however temporal surge is. So your move would happen before you play warp sight. Or can any strat be played at the start of their respective phases?
      I see warp sight reads: "once this phase". Does that include the start of the phase? I assume it does based on your description

      @@latralus46and2 Not a thousand sons player just an avid fan of 40k. Core rules is that when several things happen at the same time the player can choose what order then happen. So, I am guessing that is how and why everything goes off.

    While leaning into cabal points is certainly strong, it is worth mentioning that a more regular list archetype still has plenty of strong combos. 10x SOTs shooting psychic bolters with +1 to hit and wound dealing MWs on 6's rerolling everything is amazing. I've also grown to love the tzaangor shaman+20x tzaangors. It costs 190, so 15pts less than 5x SOTs, and you get some pretty decent melee output, and 20x wounds with a 6++ 5+++, and 41 OC. For an army that struggles scoring primary, this lets you just swamp an objective to score 8-12VP over the course of the game, and they are really annoying for you opponent to kill since they reroll battleshocks thanks to the banner and are just the right combo of stats to not really die well to anything (except mass bolter fire, which is actually fairly rare this edition, they do die to neophytes though, be warned).

    I think i understood correctly. The plan to run the sorcerers as solo units because they cany be shot unless something is within 18' right? It reads that the model needs to be leading a unit. Does the effect still work when its solo?

    Helbrute doesn’t do much in terms of firepower. But I call him my cabal battery for a reason. He sticks next to my LoFL unit, generates 3-6 cabal points a turn (VERY efficient) and dissuades the opponent from charging that high-value unit as well. I have half the amount of characters you have listed here and literally have more cabal points than I can use typically. Double rituals on nearly every phase. All because helbrute.

      Also, I’m not sure why ppl aren’t running exalted sorc w/o disc. Regenerating models and granting 4+ invuln seems to make this army respectably tanky.

    Confused about the interaction referenced regarding sorcerers on disc. Several times you suggested moving them to see a target, call the airstrike and then moving them back in the rhino. But temporal surge happens at the start of the shooting phase before you would play warp sight. What am I missing?

      @@isaachaahr8691I’ve been playing it that warp sight activates during the shooting phase but not at the “start of the shooting phase” so you unfortunately can’t warp sight in between or before temporal surges as those happen before triggering warp sight.
      That’s the way it was ruled at WTC too.

    I just got a question about the Infernal Master he mencioned. Why he has sustained hits 3? and also you can apply sustained hits to torrent weapons? If I remember well, rule says torrent hits are just "hits" and no crit

      That combo looks invalid, you cannot apply sustained hits to a torrent weapon in any way.

    Can someone explain the weird line op that the sorcerer gets. Can't you still shoot it's unit, kill them all then since it's not leading a unit, then shoot him?

    i understand how it works but doesn't range gimp this strat? like most the stuff that will be indirect is 18 inch range. how do you get around this?

      Mostly magnus and there is strat to bump the range 9 inches further for 1 unit.

    My biggest problem is just getting shot off the table by some armies. Perhaps the issue is the lack of LOS blocking terrain in no man’s land on my tables.

      i play on tables using the Leviathan Tournament Companion and it resolves that issue.

      @@Phosis9 Yep, I printed that out and we're going to work on our table. I need to get all of our buildings/ruins onto template/bases as right now there is limited "area terrain". We have also been playing on 48" by 72" which also contributes to the problem, spacing out the terrain pieces and putting the opposing army even farther out of reach.

    I just watched the battle report with this list. The list performed terribly. Not sure if it was just the pilot or the list. You certainly can’t blame your opponent for playing their game.

    The combo is plain invalid.
    1. The transport rules say that If a unit disembarks after its Transport moves, it cannot move or charge this turn, but can otherwise act normally.
    2. Temporal Surge - Use this Ritual at the start of your Shooting phase. Select one friendly Thousand Sons unit within 18" of this Psyker; unless that unit is within Engagement Range of one or more enemy units, it can make a Normal move. If it does, that unit is not eligible to declare a charge this turn.
    3. You cannot make a normal move with the unit that has just disembarked from the transport as there is a direct restriction in the rules of the transport.
    4. Evenmore, you cannot use it after the Twist of Fate again, to get back to the Rhino, as it's used in the start of the shooting phase.
    5. TL:DR - combo is invalid.

      1. Says after the transport has moved. The transport is not going to move only the sorcerer does. Then since the move ritual clearly defines normal move it allows you to embark again because that something thats allowed within a normal move.
