- High Flying, Adored Lyrics:
Che:)
High flying, adored
So young, the instant queen
A rich beautiful thing, of all the talents
A cross between a fantasy of the bedroom and a saint
You were just a backstreet girl
Hustling and fighting, scratching and biting
High flying, adored
Did you believe in your wildest moments
All this would be yours
That you'd become the lady of them all?
Were there stars in your eyes
When you crawled in at night
From the bars, from the sidewalks
From the gutter theatrical
Don't look down, it's a long, long way to fall
High flying, adored
What happens now, where do you go from here?
For someone on top of the world
The view is not exactly clear
A shame you did it all at twenty-six
There are no mysteries now
Nothing can thrill you, no one can fulfill you
High flying, adored
I hope you come to terms with boredom
So famous so easily, so soon
It's not the wisest thing to be
You won't care if they love you
It's been done before
You'll despair if they hate you
You'll be drained of all energy
All the young who've made it would agree
(Eva:)
High flying, adored
That's good to hear but unimportant
My story's quite usual
Local girl makes good, weds famous man
I was slap in the right place at the perfect time
Filled a gap, I was lucky
But one thing I'll say for me
Noone else can fill it like I can
She is so beautiful, regal and dignified. I love her pale skin, dark eyes, and blonde hair. This look is gorgeous on her. The best look I've seen on her since ray of light. Her performance of Eva is amazing.
What a great movie...Antonio and Madonna were great in this movie...love this song..
his voice is so damn smooth.
This was my favorite scene in Evita. The song is so majestic and it reflects Eva Peron reaching her height. A moment of glory before it all goes downhill for her and the movie.
Mine too!
@@brianking2771 you know, after reading about her, I think she genuinely cared about the poor people in Argentina and the children a lot. It's no wonder so many people loved her. Of course, I don't think even Eva knew how much corruption was happening behind the scenes in her charity organization and in the Peronist government at the time. Then she got sick and became a martyr before everything Juan was up to was exposed. People sometimes act like only she benefited from the marriage, but Eva Peron was directly responsible for Peron's party getting elected. She brought the poor people to the ballet boxes in droves, because people thought her speeches were very inspiring. It's funny how Eva is a borderline communist in many ways, and Peron is pretty much a fascist.
Oukei
@@eryian Communist amd Fascism have a lot things is common, you have to remember that Mussolini was a a Socialist before his experience in WW1. The biggest part the had in common is their love for Big State solutions. Also Evita was very conservative when it comes to women's place in society.
@@joaquinescotoaleman4320Bien dicho 💯
Evita has one of the best songs ever
Loved the film. Loved the play!
One of the great musical songs
Madonna's voice is purely beautiful here. Not all present singers can sing like that.
Jonathan Pryce portraying the two most prominent Argentine men, General Peron and Pope Francis!!!!! Great in both
Portraying? Funny🙄
@@coolrunnings3 Portray: to depict someone or something in a work of art or literature... Jonathan Pryce portrayed General Peron in Evita and Pope Francis in The Two Popes ... I must have missed the humor ....

@@coolrunnings3 god you make me cringe so fucking much!
This song plus I'd Be Surprisingly Good For You are my favorites.

I love the way she always holds her hand to show off her diamond ring. "A fantasy of the bedroom and a saint." Perfect!
Never cared for this film, but even as a twelve year old I always felt this song was something else!
Impresionante la voz de Madonna, me encanta.
Omg that dress I absolutely love it!
Very regal
I'M freegin 61,
Yet everytime I sing along with this I get teary eyed.
Chhhpse!
Love the song but never saw the musical. Even without knowing the storyline, I can tell that she walk out of that room like a freaking boss, owning everyone there!
A big shout out for Andrew Lloyd-Weber and Tim Rice for their superb score to this movie.
Tim Rice was on Jesuscrist Superstar, but on Evita, I think all the lyrics are by Andrew L.Weber
@@RicardoRivera-rv2me No no. Time Rice wrote the lyrics for Evita. Generally I don't think Lloyd-Webber writes lyrics.
I love this musical.
song with dedication for most modern PoP starlets who thinks that they will be on the top forever...
Wonder if Tim Rice was thinking about whoever the top pop star of that time was when he wrote it...
What beautiful song.
I watching 14 times when is coming release at cinemas, 1996 ! The figurines is all Dior. Impeccable
Muito lindo !!😘😘😘
❤❤❤
I always love the song
Came here because the terrible hold music I've had to listen to multiple times resembled an instrumental version of this song. At least the "High Flying Adored" part. It's a miracle I remembered this song from those few notes. Madonna's best role.
Banderas sings his lines with such a passion you really believe he hates her.
Watch "Goodnight and Thank You" to see how much contempt he has for her.
corvus13 I actually prefer the version from the stage show to the one in this, they make too many cuts in the film’s version.
@@EditorOfSL true
I always got more pity than hate.
I always got the feeling he is into her.
PERFECT DUO 😮
I LOVE Evita, such fond memories of attending this musical with my boyfriend’s mother in the 1980s. Eva Peron was a female ledgend!
I ❤ this musical too and, this song as well!!❤ But then again, the entire soundtrack was awesome!!!❤ R.I.Paradise First Lady. 💕💕💕
Eva Peron is a controversial figure at BEST, I think you should do more research.
"I hope you come to terms with boredom" thats right be kind we all have to deal with boredom
This is musical genuis!
Love the movie and singing
What the song says is Madonna's life. She was lucky, she was in the right place at the perfect time, ok. But no one else can fill the gap as she does.
@Street Deacon Yet you're here posting on Madonna/Banderas song. Try not to be butt hurt that Madonna grabbed the audience's full attention. That alone takes talent.
@Street Deacon ...and dead.
No one could fill the gap in her teeth either :P
@@grantmalone well, she did wear false teeth in the movie to "fill her gap" lol
That might be true, but she's had a 40 year career with millions of albums sold and sell out tours.
So she might have been in the right place at the right time, but you don't have a 40 year successful career by just being in the right place at the right time.
love
My favourite song in Evita ❤
A rich beautiful thing :)
amo demais
He has a great voice I never realised
Not much of a range though
Yes, not the range as has already been mentioned. But he had just the right voice for this role
He does a great rendition of Phantom of the Opera with Sarah Brightman. I suggest watching it 😊😊
he started out in musical theater. he got a tony nomination for nine. i remember hearing him belt. also, idc about range. not every singer has to hit high notes to be considered good.
Became a banderas fan after this song....
Compañera, amante, amiga, socia, complice...
For someone on top of the world
Banderas does a fabulous job with this song and so does Madonna who really worked on her voice for this part . I prefer the Mandy Patinkin and Patty LuPone version but they are both really good takes.
Filme lindo hein
Vc não vai se importar se eles não te amarem ... Caramba lágrimas 😢
I could listen to Banderas singing the phonebook
Yes! He has a beautiful voice. Perfect in this role. ❤❤
Alan Park , foi um grande diretor! 😪
🌺💖
Awesome key change at 2:49!
A fantasy of the bedroom and saint
Antonio....my mom's boyfriend 💜😍
I love ❤Antonio Banderas
Why the fuck would 25 people dislike this? Has high flying adored really offended anyone? Don't watch it.
A-F Now 2022! :)
blurry, but audio is great
How smart of you, MadonnaHistory!!!! If it is...shhhh...don't tell anyone about Madonna or Banderas.
I dare ANYONE to tell me Antonio can't sing. I'll wait
"I started a joke" bee Gees 🤯
2022
I was I the perfect timeI was lucky.
The funny thing about this is that Antonio could hardly speak English at the time, and they had to give him his lines on cards, phonetically spelt.
Why not. If You dream. Dream big.
Cutting lyrics..."But one thing I'll say for me
No one else can
Fill it
Like I can"
There is no misteries now noone fulfill you. You don't care if they love you it's been done before.
So just before this scene when Juan knocks on her door and she looks at the door and ignores it, does anyone know what all that’s about 😂
I suspect the main reason women watch this movie is to see a young Antonio Banderas (purr).
Definitely a major perk 😁😁😁
He’s not very attractive
How many people became aware of latent homosexuality when this movie came out while watching Antonio sign, simultaneously admiring Madonna's gown?....
As a gay guy I shouldn't say this, but I've never really liked ir seen the fuss of Madonna. But I do like her in the role of Evita!!
Ivanka
Love this musically ..... Even though Peron and evita harbored nazis
Madonnas voice is the real low point here.
Please! She sounds great.
Madonna’s voice sounds wonderful. Something Patti LuPone has never been able to pull off. A sweet beautiful sound with crystal clear diction.
Ovarian Cancer
The song is beautiful and the performances are timeless...but am I the only one who, the more I rewatch this film, finds Eva herself absolutely insufferable? I know it’s not a completely accurate picture of her as a person but I found myself agreeing with Che a lot of the time. She only wanted to be seen as normal and humble and “just like everyone else” when it suited her and Che sees right through it.
No, this was a pretty good presentation of Eva Peron. In fact, I think the film made her even softer. I've studied the woman for years. In truth, she was narcissistic and sociopathic in her pursuits. In short, she often used and abused people to her advantage. Many tend to forgive her because she was a young and beautiful woman. Plus, she came from a humble background herself.
As much as she wanted this role ans as hard as she prepard for it, Madonna is simply miscast. Her voice is too thin, and she can't act. Meryl Streep would have been a much better choice. Madonna lacks the fire we saw in Patty Lupone's performance. To quote the Little Britain guys, she doesn't have the range.
Meryl Streep🤮 Patty Lupone🤮Madonna 💯💯💯💥💥💥👏👏👏👏
madame peron first lady presidente peron huigh flying adored yung gatta buonas airies got times die to young shes goddes angel argentina HOLLY EVITA PERON CHE EVA DONNA PERFORMANCE AMAZING
