- The Penn State whiteout is considered one of the craziest and most chaotic events in all of sports. The fan are ballistic and they have some of the best fan reactions in the world. The Penn State whiteout caused Michigan to take a timeout on the first snap of the game it was so loud. It truly is considered the gold standard for atmosphere.

Went to my first Penn State against Auburn for the white out game. Most intense football experience ever. I’m forever hooked to Penn State football

Florida gator fan here. After trying a white out ourself last night for the season opener against UAF, I got hella respect for PSU fans commitment to a white out. We had maybe 70% fans in white. Y’all have 99% Fans in white. This is what I was hoping for but sadly it wasn’t no way near as impressive.

Was a student for the white out against OSU in 2005, nothing will ever top that for me to witness live and it was only a student white out at the time

I went to Penn State from 1982 to 1986, and was lucky enough to be there for not just one, but two National Championships. I LOVED MY TIME THERE. It was absolutely amazing. Chris King from Dover and Sera-tech, you out there?

There are really still people out there that think NFL tailgating and games are the most hype. All those people have never been to Happy Valley Or Beaver Stadium

Best atmosphere
WOW. I love this school. Its isolation in Happy Valley makes it even more unique. There is nothing but the University, which means everyone stays close. Over 40,000 students at the main campus, and you feel like one family. I was there for TWO national championships, one in 1982, and again in 1986.
I don’t like penn state, but dammit it’s like spell when zombie nation turns on them I’m screaming “WE ARE PENN STATE”

This video doesn’t show the first play of the game. The crowd was so loud that the visiting team, Michigan, had to take a timeout(they’re allowed 3 per half) because they couldn’t hear each other and coordinate.

This does not look real to me. It looks like a dream. The stadium is gorgeous and the crowd is even better. Maybe one day I’ll get to experience that. My local schools - USC, and UCLA - do not come close.
