    Or with a ruler just rotate from one point until you find the highest distance. You now know the diameter. Half that is the centre.

    Quick tip. Draw any 3 lines across the circle. Now draw a line perpendicular on all three lines. Where the lines intersect is the center

    Put the square on against the circle and draw a right angle with the point right on the circumference, the two other points where the lines meet the circumference will be diametrically opposed, measure half way in between them and you have a centre. Simpler than this method, requires less tools, and is more accurate.

  • @tsoliot5913
    @tsoliot5913 3 роки тому +2

    Any two intersecting lines drawn at maximum length must intersect at the center. Just put the circle behind a ruler and roll it past until you hit the highest it will go, draw a line, scoot the circle back and do it again.

    Pic a square, any square. Attach - glue, screw, clamp - a board from the intersection, up to somewhere near the center between the two limbs. Lay the New Centerfinder on the circle, both limbs on the circle. Draw a line along the centered board. Turn the Finder about 90°. Draw another line along the board. If it makes an X, you're done. If it makes a triangle, center is in the center of that, and you're still done.

  • @peteragurkis3590
    @peteragurkis3590 3 роки тому

    If you only had one square you can draw 3 straight lines across the circle at any point, doesn't have to be the diameter just needs to be straight lines (chords), and then you can take your square, measure each line you drew and make a point at the center, draw a line on that point perpendicular to the original line and where they intersect is the middle. A little convoluted but it you don't have two square like this you can make it work

    It even easier to us a measuring tape. The farthest distance on a circle will go straight across the center so just pick any spot and rotate it until you get the longest length. Then just half that measurement and there's your centre. It takes seconds.

    You don’t even have to turn it 90degrees anywhere from about 20degrees to 160 degrees will do. You just need enough rotation to differentiate the lines. They always cross on center.
