The thing that I adore about Fleshgod Apocalypse isn't just their clear classical appreciation but the dedication to the idea that they are all dead and were buried in their tuxedos but just popped out and started performing again. They don't even need to SAY it you just know that is the lore they're going for and it's the cherry on top to the image they've cultivated.
Btw the soprano singer Veronica is now an active member in the bands lineup and has been some of the members best friend since before they were even fleshgod :)
Fleshgod Apocalypse is one of my favorite bands right now. You should definitely continue this journey. Their music ranges from the most beautiful movements to extreme brutality. Here are some great choices - The Violation, The Fool (live), Sugar, Monalisa, Minotaur (The wrath of Posideon) and so many more.
Definitely want to explore them a bit more! Thank you for the suggestions!

Their albuns king/veleno and labyrinth are fucking masterpieces. Check out: - Cold as perfection - Sugar - Minotaur(wrath of poseidon) - Pathfinder - and the two first songs of the album king "marche royale" and "in aeternum" in sequence( don t have clip) but are really one of the best metal songs i have heard in my life.
Love seeing people get their introduction to Fleshgod. A fantastic band with brilliant albums. I'd definitely recommend that you give all their stuff a try (even their tech death album Oracles), I promise you won't regret it. :D
This song is absolute masterpiece. Every part of it is so beautiful and perfectly connected. Fleshgod Apocalypse are over the top as artists is so many ways.
Thank you to whoever recommended this song! It’s so AMAZING! I was just as shocked and speechless at how breathtakingly beautiful it is! I definitely have a weakness for cellos and other classical instruments in metal music.🖤
I've been in love with FA ever since their album Oracles, so it was an interesting jump from that to Agony and they've been evolving and improving ever since. It's absolutely fantastic seeing new people enjoy what they do. :D
So wicked , she handle her voice with such a might ....its like listen to a coloratura soprano , lyric soprano and dramatic soprano at the same time. And Fleshgod Apocalypse can't be easy to sing like this to...they have complicated music, sometimes the classic part is the lead ( metal as layers)..and then they twist it around....sick skills.
I completely agree about the inherent sorrowfulness of the cello! Another instrument that has the same effect is the Armenian duduk (for example Lévon Minassian & Armand Amar - Hovern'engan)
My Favorite song by one of my favorite bands. For a similar orchestral + metal mix sound, my other favorites are: Septic Flesh - "Prometheus", "Portrait of a headless man", "Vampire of Nazareth" Shade Empire - "Anti-life Savior", "Ruins"
The whole album where this is song is inspired from the ancient Greek mythos of Theseos and the Minotaur. Therefore tge video is shot in an ancient Greek colony situated in Sicily, Italy.
I discovered this song from this video. just commenting to say that its funny that she says that this reminded her of Pan's Labyrinth, and apparently this song is from an album called Labyrinth
I'd recommend checking out Kamelot- Ghost Opera. The whole album is wonderful, but the title track and The Human Stain stand out personally. Poetry for The Poisoned is another great album from Kamelot with a suite of tracks bearing the album title. The suite tells the story of a "love?" between an incubus and the woman he's draining. The Great Pandemonium is another standout track, as well as one about the zodiac killings; can't remember the name of that one. One last band recommendation, check out Sentenced. The songs Killing Me, Killing You and No One There. They're pretty somber tracks, and the video clips will get you a bit misty eyed...just a fair warning. The music Sentenced made over their career were based around the themes of death presented in every way from serious and somber, to extremely tongue in cheek satire. The Suicider would be one of those satirical ones.
Very good band even though their new songs are too modern for my taste haha. I love to see when someone feels the song so sincerely. If you want a really epic emotional journey, then I recommend these songs and choose, each has its own strength and depth ;) 1.Carach Angren-the sighting is a portent of doom 2.Cradle of filth-Bathory Aria (Remixed and Remastered) 3.Ava Inferi - Majesty 4.Wine From Tears - Since I Fell 5.My dying bride-the poorest waltz
Greetings from Guam! If you want another part of your mind blown, check out Eluveitie - Rebirth. The pure array of musical instruments they incorporate is insane, & the male & female vocals bring it home! PLEASE check it out. You will NOT be disappointed.
Hey guys - enjoying that you love the orchestral stuff just like me I have 2 recommendations for now: 1. Dimmu Borgir - Gateways ua-cam.com/video/XGoak4ISCPU/v-deo.html 2. Septicflesh - The Vampire from Nazareth ua-cam.com/video/KQ7bNCKLMR8/v-deo.html Greetings from Germany
Cello always get me in the feels. I've been listening to this since it's release, and it always give me goose bumps. Glad you two enjoyed it. Welcome to SyphonicDeath Metal. Check this out, Tech Death leaders Archspire ua-cam.com/video/dAjZncvBfgI/v-deo.html If you want Fleshgod to kick you in the face, check out this ua-cam.com/video/xjKyzwqIT7s/v-deo.html
Fleshgod Apocalypse is my current favorite band. Check out their song "The Forsaking". I guess if you're going to go down this rabbit hole of symphonic metal, you'll have to do a review of Nightwish "Ghost Love Score". I know every reviewer has done this one, but it's worth it. ua-cam.com/video/JYjIlHWBAVo/v-deo.html
FA is great but not that unique, there actually quite a lot of similar bands across europe, symphonic death metal band MaYaN for example. MaYan - Paladins Of Deceit ua-cam.com/video/gyPcuHlfdD8/v-deo.html Or even symphonic metal Epica - The Essence Of Silence ua-cam.com/video/P6hX5rpEOgY/v-deo.html
It sounds crazy but this brand of metal is so new to us. Looks like we're gonna have to jump down this rabbit whole a bit more. Thank you for the suggestions! 🤘🏻💀🖤🤘🏻
@@ArsenicAndEspressoPodcast symphonic metal have been around from mid 90s but last 10 .. 15 years it has angrier little sister symphonic death (or even black) metal, Dimmu Borgir (songs like Gateways live) from darker side, Eternal Tears of Sorrow in the middle and Epica as one of the heavyest symphonic metal bands on the other end.

The chello "brings" so much emotion precisely because its designed to mirror the human voice humming. It's almost an intimate sense.

Worship and forget and pissing on the score are pretty solid too
Dont forget "the forsaking" from agony, my second favorite piece, epilouge will always be my first
And Syphilis aswell.
Behold: Classical music + Death Metal= Fleshgod Apocalypse
If you want to be impressed by this band, in a complete opposite way, listen to The Violation. Prepare for a punch.
This is intriguing
Oooh yess. The drummer is just *chef's kiss*
I think she would love Moonspell. : )

Ne Obliviscarus, an Australian metal band that I highly recommend
I second this. And plague flowers the kaleidoscope live in Denver is a good start.

Septic Flesh - "Prometheus", "Portrait of a headless man", "Vampire of Nazareth"

If you enjoy the cello, there is a band called Darker By Design that has a cello player; "My Shrine Of Flesh" so amazing

Oh! THat makes sense.
What miracle just befell mine ears?!

It is just so amazing to see people loving this so much as I do. This is a master-fucking-piece.
Great video, guys! Thanks for reacting to Fleshgod Apocalypse. Please also check out their songs‘The Violation’, ‘Sugar’ and my favorite ‘Monnalisa’
Cold as perfection is to me one of their best clips and a amazing song, not many check it out

This song too exists. Its wild.
Her reaction is great.
You got to do Cold As Perfection, it's a masterpiece!

@@ArsenicAndEspressoPodcast Don't forget about Septicflesh, if you haven't heard them. The Great Mass is one of the best albums I've ever heard.
Have you heard Draconian? If not you should give them a try
Not yet! Thank you for suggesting 🤘🏻🖤🤘🏻🖤
