never paid attention to the connection speed of each callsign. Will pay more attention to that now and hopefully connect to the faster stations. Now I know. Thank you for that. Learned something new.

I had seen it there for a long while, but never tried it. Once. I did, I was surprised at how well it worked and it’s how I connect every morning now

    Nice work OM.
I've been using Linux and a rasberri pi for accessing winlink and KM4ACK's pat autoconnect feature, albeit with ARDOP. Worked great - saved a lot of clicking searching for a viable connection when out in the camp.
I see you used VARA here. I have not used VARA before. But, I was wondering if this Winlink Express autoconnect also works with ARDOP stations?
I am just setting up a little Window's box for field use to replace my raspberri pi and autoconnet is one feature that I'd miss for sure - hence how I found your video - searching for 'Winlink autoconnect'.

So NOT CQ to any one out there? Why play with inDIRECT assisted QSO's? Isn't DIRECT person to person, point to point "Verbal" (CW for those empowered) communication is the POINT of "Amateur Radio"? (Over and above the self learning and experimentation with communication)?
Anyone can use a "mobile phone" to dial anywhere around the world. Few have the skill to "Stick to radio with RF and an antenna".

It is still a valid communication method that can come in handy in emergencies…

With Winlink, you can send to, and receive messages from, people who don't have a radio and never will - I use it to send messages to my wife and parents when I am out deep in the woods far beyond cell service. Very useful.
