They should make "buildable" log cabins so that the trees you cut down can be used to build the cabin. Maybe it could be a part of a production line. You provide the logs, then you can get the cabin.

Hey Daggerwin, I love this series and it shows that even with not that many mods it's still possible! I tried doing something similar in Haut-Baleyron but it took me ages without super-strength so I agree on the fact that you actually need it!

    • @Lexor888
      @Lexor888 2 роки тому +1

It wouldn't make any sense without super strength, I tried to get rid of an annoying tree before the mod dropped and it was a horrible experience. First I have no clue how people manage to just walk on top of a fallen tree and cut off all twigs in seconds. For me it's super finnicky for each and every single branch and twig. Then the tree was not bigger than anything he manages here and a small piece (maybe 1.5ft) was over 500kg - so in essence I chopped 50 tons of tree by slicing it almost as thin as a slice of bread and only got enough money to buy a coke and bag of potato chips...

Here's my opinion on the series, for what it's worth:
Starting out small, or in this case, less than small, seems to me to be a bit more realistic than starting out with a 2.5 million Euro farm. You're actually building from the ground up, which is where everything had to start. That makes it much more relatable to me, at least.
Regarding the "Super Strength" mod... In the real world, one would use their tractor and chains to move large logs to a more reasonable position, levers and ramps to load them onto a trailer, making the most of what you have available, and even just using muscle power to shift logs into a good position. Since these mechanics aren't exactly available in FS22, it's only reasonable that you would have to shortcut this quite a bit. It might look out of place to just heft a log that size, but anything you pick up is just going to float in the air anyway, so your imagination has to take over. Speaking from personal experience, I have had to move logs weighing 200+ kilos on my own and it is very doable if you use the correct tools. Lacking those tools in the game should not hinder you from being able to "simulate" having them. I see absolutely no issue with using Super Strength to bypass those missing mechanics. It is more unrealistic by far to simply disallow the use of what anyone else in your situation would have available in the real world.
I prefer this kind of series overall because it shows not only the desire to improve your situation but to use your own judgement and ingenuity to build your homestead and farm instead of using a pre-made setup. After all, why would you own a 2.5 million Euro farm and have zero cash left over?

I wouldn't recommend buying that specific balestacker, since it's for large sqaure bales. But the one for small bales it great fun! It can be a bit buggy when unloading, but overall works good. Way better than stacking by hand anyway.

This series is great! I have some ideas for you:
-Build a cow pasture and buy 5 for start brown swiss cows,
-Install dual tires on the MF, it's a popular option in the alps and helps with stability,
-Build a garage or two when you can afford it.

I agree this doesn't need to be a super long series. But honestly I'd love to see you develop that wooded area into a small farm! Having hillside fields up there would be really cool! I'd imagine that it would take more than 10 episode to get to this point, maybe closer top 20?

  • @Kingofpasta

Daggerwin, just a tip if you want to load your trailer up with a lot of wood and still have traction, you should load a few sideways on the front and then put long ones hanging over the tractor. Loving the series, keep up the great work!

It is cool to see a series where you start with nothing and work your way up while it still being pretty much the base game
The regular let’s play is fun but it’s different since you start out with stuff, and the survival role seems like it needs a lot of mods so it’s not really something that everyone would do
But having a series that is mostly base game besides for the strength mod like this where your starting out from nothing is a cool in between from the regular let’s play and the full on roll play

Hey Daggerwin. Like many, I am a big fan of the survival style, hard start, try to stay realistic, and really work for it type series. When the first video in this set was posted, I was ecstatic, as I had not thought we would see a survival flavour for months after the FS22 release. As the days, then weeks went by, I figured the series must have been abandoned in favour of the shear volume of standard let's play vids you pushed out for the new game. I was excited to see this one back, until I started it. Now, don't get me wrong, I love your content, but this one, only the second in the set, and already we have super strength and a mad rush to get to using better kit, which, in my view, really defeats the whole purpose of this style of gameplay. I am out on this one, but will try and keep an eye for the return of a more true to form survival play through series. Don't burn yourself out or rush things, when you enjoy the playthrough, it really does come across and makes it more enjoyable to watch. In any case, Thanks for all the great content over the years!

NEVER CROSS A CROWSING WHEN THE LIGHTS ARE ON!
in my area in switzerland we have had it more than once that a train crushed a car which got stuck... mainly deiven by tourists... I think in 2017 +/-3 years there where 3 incidents in the same place in about 2 months. (all persons escaped if I recall correctly)

I like the concept and premise behind this series and I'd like to see more, I've always enjoyed the Start From Scratch / Survival style where you build up from meager beginnings. But I'm not a big fan of the way you often resort to using Super Strength though, granted it's not billed as a realistic series but, for me at least, it really takes the edge off the "survival" aspect of it and can be a bit of a put off sometimes.
