  • Pitching shallow walleye on Lake Kabetogama in northern Minnesota. Crazy numbers of shallow fish in late May. Fish were concentrated in shallow sand bays with some emerging weed growth and scattered rock. Fan casting and pitching jigs and minnows in three to eight feet of water. Using 1/8th ounce Northland Tungsten Jigs for better sensitivity and bite detection when dragging over the bottom. Tipping the jigs with a large to medium size shiner.
Used Lowrance Active Target to cast at specific schools of fish. Realistic opportunity for catching big numbers of water class walleye with some big fish mixed in. These locations also produced pike, smallmouth bass and jumbo perch. Tips and details for catching spring walleye on Kabetogama Lake. Very picturesque lake with little development. Several resorts are located on the lake but a big portion of the lake is located within the Voyageurs National Forest. Feels like a Canadian Shield Lake but much easier to reach without leaving the States.

Jason I've really enjoyed your shows & videos for many years, but ya gotta lose the live scope. It's a bad look, & am sure that you don't need it.

gotta agree everyone using live scope seems weird to me. I get that it increases bites but it just feels wrong.
