- In this video I talk about my experience with completing The Epic of Alexander (TEA) using only party finder on the aether data center. TEA was my second ultimate raid and my personal favourite so far. This fight took my friend and I about 10 days of non stop progging for 6+ hours each day. TEA is without a doubt the best thing I've ever done in this game and I truly love this ultimate fight. The satisfaction of clearing this fight was absolutely amazing and nothing else in this game has come close to me. Onwards to 6.4 savage and hopefully DSR afterwards!

Ello, it's me again! My TEA adventure has finally come to an end after I waited for people to get bored of Savage. This was my first time clearing an ultimate only in PF from start to finish. It took me 8 days, almost half of which was spent on Limit Cut parties. For comparison I spent 2 months in UWU with a static that went 6 hours per week, then disbanded, then I spent 4 days in PF trying to go from P4 start to kill.
Being stuck on Limit Cut for nearly 3 (almost 4) days almost broke me but so did being stuck on UWU clear for like 3 days. In the end UWU made me cry more than TEA because it felt more mentally exhausting. In TEA that early wall is so soul crushing that I almost even considered lying about my prog and joining parties at P2 second nisi pass when I haven't seen further than J kick. I was just so tired of P2 from start parties never even reaching there. I didn't do it, never lied about my prog. No matter how unfair it feels, I wouldn't recommend anyone to do it either. In Savage maybe you can get away with it but in Ultimates it's so obvious when you lie about your prog point. You'll find yourself blacklisted from most parties and unable to prog/fill groups very soon doing that. In the end with a lot of patience and willpower I found myself a great group of friends that progged all day like me, we got through P2 prog quite swiftly but P3 inception to wormhole took quite a while. In roughly 5 days with them I went from P2 to kill. It was such a huge joy for all of us. It still is, we're doing reclears together too.
TEA is definitely the more fun one between the two. Even if everything goes wrong you have some of the best OST this game has to offer to jam to. I don't really like Living Liquid, I think the only interesting part about it was Hand of Pain, but I love every other phase compared to just Ultima from UWU. Nisis and Fate Calibration especially are very interesting mechanics. I can easily understand why some people claim TEA is overall the best ultimate because honestly it is great to prog once you're out of LL/LC hell, it is very fun to play, it is very satisfying to execute correctly and it is difficult enough to not be frustrating nor boring while offering some of the greatest weapons. One of my biggest joys in this game is watching a PhyR player run from one side of the map to the other over and over again while I mostly just sit in one spot in P2. It's a shame the portrait design is pretty bad and muddy.
I only had one drama, and I won't be giving names, but I think there is a lesson to be learnt from Ultimates that doesn't really exist that much in other fights. That is to accept your own mistakes. Just saying "my bad, I accidentally X" is enough for most people to continue with you. Everyone knows humans make mistakes and will forget about it. When you just stay silent, or give some ridiculous excuse as to why you caused the wipe that shows you don't even know the mechanic before the prog point advertised, people will think you're trapping and leave. Ultimate PF is done by a very small group of people. Those people just want you to respect their time. So when you mess something up and show the decency to own up to it, and prove you understand what you did wrong is very important. If you don't, you'll become lonely very swiftly. PF Ultimate fights are not just about the fight itself, they have a very social aspect where you bond with people you like playing and spending hours waiting in PF with.

I cleared TEA today and I got to say, thanks for making this video to motivate to doing it and clearing it. I did on GNB and man, it was the most fun and frustrating thing i have done. Good luck on clearing DSR and the other endgame stuff you do

I'm finding this video nearly a year late but you have so accurately described my own experience with this fight. TEA was my first ultimate, and it took me about three weeks on and off to get a clear. While I enjoy the freedom to do just that, I don't know if I could ever PF another ultimate, especially ones like DSR and TOP.
Congratulations on your clear! I also just started on my TEA journey but I don't think I'll be able to have a clear in the next 2-3 weeks because of the new Savage tier. At least I killed LL but I'm currently stuck on Limit Cut prog. Set up a party for Limit Cut yesterday, only saw Limit Cut once. I was given the number 8, so before I could get my turn we were all dead. LL might be nowhere near the hardest part of the fight but it gives PF way too many chances to meme man...
Filling up PFs is such a huge problem because I can't quit a trap party or kick someone from the group for holding everyone else back since replacing that one single person might take several hours and other people would leave.
One thing I would add to this video is how good the TEA OSTs are. I can easily say that the only thing that kept me sane yesterday was the banger Locus OST and the possibility of hearing Metal: Brute Justice Mode.
Good luck with your prog! Big agree and totally forgot to mention the ost. Phase 3 theme in particular was my favourite. Absolute banger music in this fight.
Edit: also even though kicking people might not work out, the blacklist is a very good tool for future pfs if specific players are holding you back. I barely blacklisted anyone for uwu but during tea I had to use it a lot more.

This video single handedly has given me the confidence to attempt ultimate in PF
Totally relate able man. I play in JP Elemental, i waited like 2-3 days quite few times but the PF isn't even filled. It's very hard to progress, even if it's full, there's no guarantee it will be smooth or rather just some Liquid memes and disband after few pulls. But about 3 weeks ago, i managed to clear in PF which was pretty satisfying, today i got my 16th clear, just need one more to complete every weapon. And honestly, reclear party is more worse than first clear party, idk what's the chemistry in it, maybe people are greedier. I think Liquid and BJCC are like, a test "are you worthy for this fight?" while UWU is just feels like extreme trial but faster. P3 is so chill and slow, all good, and P4 is really a victory lap.

Congratulation! It looks like such a crazy fight, that I'd love to do one day.
DSR and TOP as well, but I feel like those would be a bit beyond my current skill set.
I know its bit of a late reply, But I know a lot of people who have been afraid to give these fights a try. who were genuinely shocked about what they could accomplish if they put their mind to it. Id honestly recommend in the downtime between this tier and next expansion if you currently already do savage to give them a shot. Clearing them has been some of the most fun and best experiences I've had in the game.
Congrats on the TEA clear! I am planning on tackling my first ultimate after I clear this tier and hearing your story just makes me want to attempt it more.

It was my very first ultimate and i am so proud.
But oh boy - turns out the hardest part of doing an ultimate is actually getting a group together. Hours and hours of waiting just to see people clearly aren't at the stated prog point was just the worst.
I ended up gathering some people i met regularly on PF to reduce wait times.

this fight has always been my dream clear bro i had a great time listening to u express how passionate u are about this fight and straight up just how cool it is, i swear it's so refreshing to hear u dont need to clear the whole tier to do a fight youd enjoy way more than just slogging through a tier LOL
My TEA adventure has been pretty miserable. It's hard to even find people to fill Party finder at the prog point I'm currently at. I just want to be able to practice.
I think the reason most people recommend clearing a savage tier before ultimates, is that its both what the game itself required, before the ultimates went off content and a good test to see if someone is ready for an ultimate. Its by no means required, and I don’t think there is anyone out there who would say you need to clear multiple. Final savage fights just provide a good idea of what ultimate mechs will look like, especially now that SE is obsessed with door bosses and feels more willing to use harder mechs to make up for the short length.
as someone who did DSR in PF, took about a month to clear, when I cleared, I actually cried, it's one of the best fights I have EVER done in a video game and I look back at my first clear every so often to remember what it felt like to clear, I know I am a year late to commenting but there is my 2 cents, do DSR, it's not the title or the weapon, it's the experience.
i had a static for DSR but did UWU in PF and holy shit man you were not joking about the way different wait times, waiting 2-3+ hours just to wipe to LL a few times and disband feels so bad

Ultimates are so much better. I fully agree. I’m not going to clear this tier because I really don’t care. There’s no ultimate after this one so really no point. I did last tier to unlock top and get bis. Finally cleared DSR and the same thing happened to me. 2 deaths. One my fault the other a reaper killed me. I only saw p7 once and I freaking loved the fight. It was a MASSIVE pain to prog but worth it. As a fight DSR is up there. I also loved tea too. That was my first ultimate and I caught the bug. I also did that before savage . GL on your next ultimate. Can’t wait to see the next video.
That's the unfortunate truth of PF life vs being in a static. Yeah you play and prog at your own pace on your own schedule, but you have to sacrifice consistency, each party takes forever to fill, and the majority of them are traps. I did UCoB & UWU entirely through PF as well, took me about a month for UCoB and 2 weeks for UWU. I'm starting on TEA next.
I'd love to see a video about your crafting/gathering experience. How much it cost you to pentameld, frustrating RNG, Gil making, or just your general thoughts on it. Looking forward to more great content.
Thanks for making these videos man. Always wanted to clear an ultimate to get those shiny weapons (and the flex) but didn't think I was good enough. Hardest content I did was e4/8/12s unsynced and thought I needed to clear current savage before even touching one. I watched your UWU video and decided to just say fuck it and go in PF. Ended up clearing in 4 hours (easiest fight of my life lol) and I'm going after that ucob clear when patch slows down. Is my ego at an all time high now? Yes. Will I suffer progging ucob? Probably. But I'm gonna enjoy it, one thing I learned is ultimate is fun as hell. Thanks for the motivation bro, can't wait for your next ultimate video.
I just cleared tea in pf from the motivation I got from your video, same for uwu last year. Hopefully you make a I cleared dsr in pf video so I can get my third ultimate lmfao
Congrats!! I will say, that DSR is by far the hardest Ultimate, but it is so rewarding to clear.
It depends on the player honestly. For me TOP is by far the most challenging prog wise at least mainly because of p5 and p1 being a pain to do consistently. DSR for me was very easy, took me only 2 weeks in pf to clear. The only mechanic which took me 4-5 pulls to learn properly was Wroth Flames and that's it. The older ultimates are much easier in comparison, TEA only took me a week in pf.
It all depends on the player. TOP has all the things which plays to my weaknesses in the game and DSR and UCOB just plays to my strengths. TEA phase 2 also played to my weaknesses but luckily i learnt it quickly.
top is way harder than dsr
Currently stuck in LL hell. I’ve been OT, H1, and H2. I’ve seen 10% remaining health. One day I’ll get out. Hopefully. I want a Perfect Legend over my head and a shiny gear weapon.
TEA is a very long fight and I did it via partyfinder. Though eventually you'll see familiar faces and recognize those you like and those you dont. You'll form a semi static of hey i know this person is good and the tight nit community forms.
Pugging ultimates is hard, especially with new content out. but once it dies down, more people will dive back into ultimates. TEA, DSR and TOP will have "less" people based on the degree of difficulty and It's hard to find people who have cleared because Not all Statics or people who have cleared take on the Pure PUG strats.
Still grats on the clear. Try for DSR maybe :D
I will say DSR is my favorite ultimate as it's a perfect balance of difficult phase to Hard mechanics and DPS
Congratulations! I did P1-4S last year and then lost all energy to sit in PF lol. It is really rewarding when you finally get it, but it's such a slog until then. Thank you for keeping the PF dream alive!
I've been trying to clear TEA for more than a month now, PF is so bad, I join parties at wormhole and PA progs and they cannot get past LL and sometimes nisi passes, really demotivates me to keep doing but I just love the fight so much I cant stop
Great video! I wish I had enough time to prog TEA in PF but law school is coming up. Also don’t have enough free time for a static so hopefully I can take some time next summer or make some extra time before this summer is over. Really want to eventually do ultimates and this savage tier. At least I got a couple of Golbez extreme cleats!

I recall someone once said that when people get to the level to run Ultimates and clear those, they sometimes get to find the rest of the game content just not good or interesting. Cause at that point they're used intense mechanics that gotta be solve in ways no other duty will offer.
Some burn out or even quit cause they are not happy with the "Normal content".
I hope you'll enjoy the new Savage tier, I personally love EX and savage and Ultimates, but I seem to notice Ultimates raiders I know just losing all interest into Savage, only wanting to do it, to get the ultimates after. Since 6.4 savage tier will NOT unlock a new ultimate, maybe some will just skip it completly.
I'm personally also been doing TEA :D Got to see Limit cut twice last static night! I am excited and horrified of BJ and CC, but the music just a jam. I cannot suggest UCOB enough too, my favorite fight in the whole game.
It is old and janky, quite janky and people laugh at Golden for being the easiest winning lap around, BUT, BIG BUTT, the emotion, the music, the tension is so unique to it. You got pass the Adds phase (Consider the hardest part of the fight) and then you get into Golden where he blast non-stop the party and tanks with massive nukes and if you you die you lose a x2 dmg up buff which really hurts DPS if lost...
It's tense, the music is WAY TOO HYPE, I cried when cleared from the stress. Baha gold enormous chest be stronk.
Tho I can already predict you saying Twintania is a boring boss, Nael being the best phase, Bahamut being weird and slow but with good mechanic and adds ether being the hardest part or the most annoying part [Cause dang it's hard seeing anything happening] and Golden being a victory lap (But me hoping the emotions will be there ;v; )

that is completely true, once you cleared a ult (even UwU) u r so used to the faster paced mechanic that anything in savage starts to feel like a slow-mo clip compared to the intense jaw dropping blockbuster that is an ultimate
That's so true, after i complete UWU and TEA, every other non ultimate feels so slow and boring, even P8S feels slow that i actually kinda "wait" for the mechanics.
The real hardest mechanic in the fight is Final word, no mech in the fight has killed as many people with stillness lmao. Helping people clear this fight and seeing them always die to final word is a fucking classic.

Congrats on your clear! Hope you enjoy savage. The big difference between savage and ultimate fights to me, is that savages can be done blind (with a static). So if you are merely whelmed by 6.4 savage, keep that in mind for 7.0.
I'm currently progging TEA once a week and we're slowly seeing inception more and more. Biggest thing is that the OST is all bangers. I love DSR, but hearing Heroes gives me ptsd. Biggest prank you can pull on a Heaven's Legend is adding the first second of that song on a discord soundboard.

Your uwu video inspried me to try it out and it went surprising well garuda and ifrit were soon titan was a bit messy and I'm currently prog anni.. and it sucks I'm on oce so pfs take so many hours to fill some not filling for the whole day and it's making me lose a lot of motivation but i hope that next tier will revive pf a bit so after i complete that gonna go back into uwu and see how it goes great video like always!
I honestly respect PF legends a lot more in general because you guys have insaney more patience than any other type of player.
I always try to help those people in UwU PF clear parties. Simply because I'm one of you guys this time around for UCoB. Waiting a little longer for the current savage tier to run its course so more people beat it to got bored enough to join UCoB parties again.

Doing 4 ults in 5 months via pf and all i can say, patience is key but also very annoying at times
@@exynto5253 Cleared about a week and a half ago! Now that I can look back... This fight's design is so cool. Like UwU will always be my favorite but I can admit the newer design they were able to pull during Shadowbringers really did make it feel higher on the presentation quality!

22:00~ish, you say you can just do ults, and don’t worry about savage: I agree… except when you hop in pf asking for a ‘quick blind clear’ of a savage for unlocking an ult. Obviously, it depends /which/ ult you’re unlocking but… Most of them have mechanics that will kill you even unsync if you don’t know how to deal with them. All my savage mounts I got unsynced (this current tier is the first one I’ve actually been progging on release), and they’re not hard to unsync. But (particularly the more recent edens) they don’t exactly roll over and die, either.

twice as bad is interesting. While progging uwu with 2 others + pf some days we waited upwards of 2-3 hours just for a single pull :')
Bro, just cleared this fight after roughly 40 hours of proggers. Last phase is a rough learning experience, compared to Alexander Prime where everything is simmable - and wipes there are a "waste" of a 10 minute pull. Very UCOB Adds phase prog feely.
8:25 this is so fking true uwu was the worst because of people greeding 24/7 causing wipe to get a good parse which was so annoying dying to ifrit nails when we are at suppresion prog
Congrats on the clear. I'm wanting to learn TEA, but struggling to know where to even begin preparing for it. I hear mixed things about gearing, like people saying "use anything i595+" and my MCH is i640, but I hear a certain item level causes you to lose your meld bonuses.
What did you do regarding gear when you cleared this?
I'm very interested in this fight, and I think it's amazing you got the clear via party finder. It gives me motivation to possibly just host a fresh learning party and see what happens.
I just used 630 abyssos gear when I did it. It will ignore melds if your ilvl is higher but this doesn’t matter since the substats make up for the lack of melds. Anything 595+ without melds should be okay, the dps check on the fight is pretty lenient nowadays too. Give it a try! It’s a really great fight.

Just curious what time you'd recommend me try a PF for TEA if I do. Thanks again!
@@Dahweirdacus I was on aether for the whole thing, if you're on NA servers aether is where the majority of people go to raid in general. I would usually prog anywhere from like 2 pm - 12 am (MST). Just depended on the day and whether I was busy or not. I actually got my clear at like 1 or 2 am I think. The parties will take a while to fill no matter what but later afternoon/evening is the best time to prog.
The savage tier has been out for a while now so I think ulti pfs will start to have more people again. I would just throw up a fresh prog when you have the chance and see if it fills!
congratulations! I have a quick question if you don’t mind, I’m thinking about getting into ultimates, what gear should I be using? Old gear? Or does it not matter? But again congrats on the clear!!!
For TEA, UWU, and UCOB current gear is absolutely fine. I think anything around 620 or higher will be good for tea, even lower will be fine for UWU/UCOB. As for DSR and TOP there are specific BiS sets you need which can be found in the balance discord server. Good luck with whatever you end up doing!

is VC used in PF ultimates in your experience? Also is it feasible to do PF if you have only 3 hours to set aside on weekdays (considering quite some time will take to fill)
I did not use VC at all when I progged and I rarely see parties that do use it tbh. 3 hours a day could absolutely work it just may take you more days overall to get the clear. Good luck if you decide to go for it!

Watching clear vids is so underrated compared to guides. I try telling my group, learning the pace of a fight helps a ton.

DSR is much much much harder than TEA. I got my clear last week and oh boy, its hard. The level consistency you need is nuts. Also its the first ultimate with massive adjusting on almost every single mechanic. You cant autopilot any phases you have progged before which make prog in general more exhausting. TEA is almost entirely scripted while DSR has either a priorityadjust or adjust in general on almost every mechanic. However, its so rewarding doing these right that its worth all the struggle. Save the boi
