I was fortunate to have seen these guys at the Robin Hood Dell in Philly. What a great show. Akroyd & Belushi were one show & the band was a show themselves. The tightest live band I've ever seen. In my top 5 of all-time concerts.
I heard this when I was nine years old every night when I was in bed, my seven year older brother was playing this mega load. After a while I knew all the songs and the lyrics (phonetically), I was dreaming about how these shows looked like in the United States as we were from a little village in the middle of nowhere in the south of the Netherlands near the Belgium border. This will always stay with me, thanks JP (my brother)!!
That's what I am talkin' about! I just posted this to my FB page to my old friends from back in the day! You just confirmed it ! Blessings to you for the upcoming Eclipse, may it bring the peace and knowing were all gonna need !
(Shower Thought) If the Blues Brothers were still with us, you know that they would have made one hell of s Christmas Music Album, eventually, and we would still likely be enjoying it, instead of Mariah Carrey....
I can't get enough of The Blues Brothers music. I think there Hard Core Blues Rockers. I love there music loud and proud. It's a good feeling in my body n soul.
The thing was, Was that Dan could play the hell out of that Harp, And John loved the music, so he knew all the words, "AND" How to carry a tune! And you hvae Steve, & Duck, with Matt, Who wouldn't have bought those albums? From a consumer, to business stand point this project was a no brainer!

I was in a Karaoke contest and sang the Blues Brothers version of Cab Calloway's Minnie the Moocher. At the point I sang it there were 20 finalists. Now I'm in the top ten!! First prize is One grand, second prize is five hundred, and third is 250 bucks. I'm doing more songs from the Blues Brothers movie for the finals!!!!!!
I feel the same way about The Blues Brothers. I love the Chicago Blues. Chess Records Chicago, IL had so many great records of The Blues And Rockin N Rollin Music for me.
Had the pleasure of seeing Dan and Jim do their Blues Brothers routine in Vegas one New Years. It was as close to getting to see the original Blues Brothers band live. Jim almost looked and sounded like his brother that you could feel John's spirit there. Wish I could see them again as it was a great concert.
I love blues brothers. What does "pro shot" mean? I'm an Italian man... I know the two words, but not together... "pro-shot". Thanks Bye Elwood and Joliet Jake
I am Daniel Franco Jr and I am an English teacher and a drummer who likes Rock n Roll Music and The Blues and i am from Blue Island Illinois and we travel to get to Laredo Texas
Magical what I’d pay to hear musicians of this quality today, they just don’t exist sorry I don’t want to cause offence xxxx R.I.P always God Bless Beautiful Musical Angels xxxx
guessing they were also filming the movie around this time. Great group of musicians all around. Donald "Duck" Dunn played with Booker T and the M.G.s, "Green Onions". Been listening/watching for 40 years. Long live the Blues !
so... was he an actor first or a musician? And since this is before the release of the film, were they an actual band that then fictionalized a film off this?
John Belushi was a Actor he and best friend DAN aykroyd created the blues brothers and formed the band as a real band to perform on SNL IN 1978 they performed from 78-80 in 78 they released there first album a briefcase full of blues in 1979 the decided to make a movie on the characters of Jake And Elwood and the band it was released in 1980
i saw the "blues Brother's band" around 1990 with Eddie Floyd on vocal's. Good concert but sometimes people didn't react because they played classic rythm and blues songs not sing by The Blues Brothers. "Everybody needs somebody to love" was great but "Sweet Home Chicago" was amazing : 10 mns at least with solos off all the instruments longer than the record version.
These guys helped reinvigorate the blues scene in the late seventies and early eighties. I didn't know anything about the blues until I saw these guys on SNL. I went down the blues rabbit hole. Briefcase Full of Blues is a must have, I play this often in my car to this day. Fantastic concert footage.
Belushi overdosed March of 1982. The band were all session musicians & as good as you could get in the day. They got back together in the 90's with John's brother Jim standing in. Paul Shaffer on keyboard was the band director & David Lettermans band director. All the others were just plain fantastic players.
Elwood n his blues harp never got enough credit.
I KNOW!!! Every time Elwood and Jake were on screen, I always had my eyes on elwood because of his dancing and harmonica
well said 😎
The beginning of Flip flop n fly on that harp....🎶💖👌

Thanks man.
I Neve get tired of The Blues Brothers
we miss you John
Jim is Great but John is Greater
Jake ain't lying though. We had a band powerful enough to turn goat piss into gasoline.
Duck Dunn says this
It's REALLY BULLSHIT that none of these GREAT CONCERTS are NOT on as extras on the _Blues Brothers_ movie DVD... 🤨😡🤬
I didn't know a rubber biscuit was a dog bone. More y'know, I suppose.
Fantastic, brings back great memories, music from 40 years ago. Thank you genesisguru!
Dan is a very accomplished harp man.
I was there...representing KMBQ-93 fm in Shreveport, Louisiana and 96X Longview, Texas (yes I was working 2 different radio stations at that time).
I had the pleasure of seeing Matt Guitar Murphy perform at Antone's in Austin years ago with James Cotton and Pinetop Perkins. Heavenly!
Saw him @Rick's in Ann Arbor, MI. Probably '89 or '90.

Never thought about that. No doubt would have a dope xmas album
I listen to Rob Halford. Dunno what you're on about Mariah Carey and all
You shouldn’t use your computer in the shower, very dangerous.

Even I came from Asia, this grabbed my heart right away the first time. No other music can compete it . It is so original.
There is a whole lot of talented musicians on that stage.
Steve Jordan on drums! Dunn + Cropper from Booker T! Paul Shaffer! Etc..
John's Legacy will forever live😎😎🎶🎶 The Blues Brothers rock❤️
They dimmed the intro lights too early and missed John's cartwheel!!
this is basically a live version of their first album, including same band members
cept the tom scott sax player
Some of the heaviest hitters ever + an absolute legendary banger of a band. Hot damn, soooo good.

2021. Never saw this. If you're diehard 1980 movie fan & line up, since 85, Sheafer was SNL band leader pre Letterman. Its gold. 36y late. Cool. Tx!!!
they made this into an album. I played it until the needle was gone.
Cara frew you and i

It's kinda crazy how hard Steve Jordan played right?
Also, Paul had some killer keyboard stuff.
