I wish the VW heavy hitters from Brazil could come to the WC next year. It does cost a lot of $$ with all the logistics. I bet they would smoke the Hondas here in US
Smoke....is a strong word. They have to meet the rules which makes things a much tighter field. Some of the things that allow them to go fast isn't aloud or leads to weight or turbo penalties to make it fair.
Numbers.... There are literally thousands of Honda's that have figured out what works. There's a handful of VWs using different chassis and different engines it's tough to evolve without the masse testing what works and what doesn't on the exact same stuff.
@@robertb.malthousejr.895 they're all heavy after the MK3 honestly. I don't even like mk3s but I built one as it was the most aerodynamic out of the golf's before becoming a pig. To be competitive at this level the car needs to weigh 2400 lbs race ready with driver. Less than that really as we need to put weight where we want it. A Golf R weighs like 3200lbs without driver for example.
@@COMotorsports oh ya I completely agree it’s a weight thing. That’s why I keep thinking about putting a vw power plant in something else with a power glide and a 9 inch and send it lol
About the only way to make a golf r light would be a full build with a tube front end and carbon everything. Even then it would still be considered heavy compared to the hondas. In Australia most of the euro cars run in the street class. Fastest street golf just ran a 8.9 a few weeks ago. Full street car. Built ea888 by galano engineering
Less than a year to go... Lets go!
I love Brent lol
Good stuff, thanks for sharing

Awsome Vid guys!
Great meeting you guys this year, hopefully hang out a bunch next year for the VW coverage.
Great video, thanks for sharing!!
The Brent intro was awesome! Hope to see you guys racing next year. It’s the best event of the year.

Wow I seen HST over here at Santa Pod. Good to see them compete in the WCF.
Thought I clicked the wrong video there for a second when Brent appeared.😂
Oh man the grub worm was there!? Prob one of my favorite builds.
The best of the best are there.
I saw Mr Kevin Black! Hardly ever see him in video just photos. He's a buddy from back in PA
Yep he can always be found among the VW crew.

I was completely confused when Brent showed up lol!
We like to mix it up. lol
May I ask, what is the lift and duration of your cams?
Large. lol We're gonna do a video covering most everything about it soon.
LOL @ PFI speed. You'll get there CO, you are just super niche. In time.
What would you say is most limiting factor that keep vw out of this kind of racing?

@@COMotorsports I would love to push my golf r but it just doesn’t seem like it would last round after round and mk6’s are heavy
