  • Prof. Agnes Wang’ombe has continually broken barriers in the agricultural research field as a plant pathologist emerging the first woman in diverse sectors. She shares her personal journey in the field highlighting both high and low moments she has experienced so far. She is deeply convicted that as a woman there is nothing stopping one from achieving their dreams. Her love and passion for research has since earned her the title of Professor Emeritus at the University of Nairobi Department of Plant Science & Crop Protection after years of hard work and dedication.

Very eye opening, it is true that these stories about few women being in STEM is not true, there is need to take data of women who have at least a BSc in STEM and people will be shocked because most of them are in homes, these are people who are always quiet, some are doing jobs they did not train for.
