So about the mold: it's called the Hook Again Chamber. It was made by Ebonite and they had some sort of cleaner along with it, you would basically soak your ball in the solution to make it hook more. Randomly saw some for sale on facebook and I just had to snag one and get it to you. But it really sucks it didn't work out they way we were thinking it would. Hoping for one day a method to come to you so you can make all the craziest homemade balls of your dreams!
Im really glad he gave us credit in the "we made 3 bowling balls" i feel like I put in a lot of effort on this endeavor so far and im just glad to feel seen
you should send a message to one of the resin channels(evan and katelyn is the first one that comes to mind, they seem to love doing wacky resin things)and see if they have any ideas on how to get this to work. in your attempts it feels like youre sooo close, need to workshop this
So, as an artist who does projects that require the pouring of glue, floetrol, and resin, the bubbles are formed from the pour, to elimate them, try to pour slower, as well as you can use a butane torch (i use a creme brulee torch) to pop them and get rid of them!
I mean technically no, it wasn't made for molding purposes. It was only meant to contain a bowling ball to let it soak in a cleaning solution to make it hook more. But when I saw it I obviously thought it's very close and thought it might work.
You picked like the worst possible way to mix the resin and fill the mold... In the future, just pour directly into the mold. Use a funnel. Mix in the mold, including the color so swirls will be consistent across the entire ball.
Nicely done Deca. That ball mould looks cleaner than mine. The ridge is a problem I encountered as well, and found that pouring past the seam in one pour helps a lot. I actually use cut down gallon jugs as mix containers. Think windshield washer fluid bottles.
I sort of followed 220s route. Except mine I placed 2 layers of wax paper roughly 3/4 up, and in the bottom I had a brake parts cleaner cap holding the ball in place, screwed to plywood. Solved the flat spot problem, but I have 2 extensions that have to be removed when the curing is done. I was trying to make a clear dragon ball bowling ball. Got the stars figured out so they're actually functional weight blocks, but can't find a urethane or resin mix that looks even slightly correct. They just end up looking like tangerines or with the quick set urethane they're just too bubble ridden. Then it got really cold up here in the northeast US, so I haven't even tried for the last 2 months. My barn isn't heated.
@drg19841 yeah that was basically what I was thinking of doing. I don't know what exactly manufacturers are using to make completely clear covers, I have to assume it's a kind of resin that needs some machine assistance and not so much one that you can mix by hand. Would need to find someone to spill the beans on how they do it.
I dont care if i am 2nd, 3rd or what-the-heck-ever! I just sincerely want to say that, I love your videos, my man! Always brings me joy and replenish my need to grab a ball and hook it to the pins because i am busy most of the time lately and can't just go to a bowling alley and play a few rounds. THANK YOU FOR YOUR AWESOME VIDEOS!
"I know you've been here 5 minutes, but I bee here over 2 hours"....LMAO MIKE>..you're hilarious....hope one day you get this to really work and start your 220 line of balls.
That's definitely an option. Another one is what's called Deep Pour resin. It's designed to cure slowly so that the bubbles have plenty of time to rise out. It works surprisingly well. Just takes longer to cure.
the only thing coming to my mind with that groove is that you need to cut the surface down a little and not just trying to do it with surface pads, iirc even the ball manufacturers do it that way, tho where to get a tool like that is another question
Surprised you didn't use the right gutter as a ball return. It would have been much more efficient. You'd just have to snag it before it got to the foul line.
Was gonna say this. Definitely needs to be in a ventilated space, and ideally wearing a respirator, especially if he's gonna continue to do this. So much resin content out there, but almost none of it talks about resin safety.

Thanks again for being on the lookout! Decadude #1
Nicely spotted! I'll keep my eye out for one as well. Maybe once the northeast gets back above freezing I can continue with my project
I mean, 220 should def do a before and after on the hook again and see if it actually improves hook on a ball!
Michael is the most creative human I’ve ever met. These science experiments bring me back to elementary school times. Love it!
Love it we need those consistent league videos with you guys 💪🏻
You owe Mike a few more slaps since he acts like a brat on league night videos 😂👍
Im really glad he gave us credit in the "we made 3 bowling balls" i feel like I put in a lot of effort on this endeavor so far and im just glad to feel seen
When storm offers you a gig make sure to decline and tell them you’re waiting for Brunswick
He needs to put a core into it
We need to send Michael one of those vibrating machines that helps you shake all the bubbles out of pours. You would get the smoothest finish that way
Forest YT : Balls, *competitive style*
220 YT : Balls.... yup balls.

5-7-10 2 lanes over from you 😂😂

i agree!!! michael needs to get in touch with some resin youtubers and brainstorm
“You should always use protection”

“I made it at home earlier today”
This is absolutely amazing that's my home bowling alley, I have a league there tonight!
Brandon is a real one, Forrest gets a homemade steak
I can't be the only one thinking we need a 220 + Evan and Katelyn collab for making resin bowling balls
What's their channel?
@@decadude8968 ua-cam.com/users/evanandkatelyn they do a ton of resin and DIY stuff.
Now put a core in it
You also need a vacuum chamber for the resin to eliminate bubbles.
Hammer Called-- They Want Their Ball Back!
I was literally just thinking it looked like a hammer NU then saw this 😂😂😂
Not gonna lie that storm joke had me rolling 😂😂😂😂

There is no access to the surface for the torch method. Vacuum chamber the resin before pouring would be better.
Thanks!

Thanks for the thanks!
The ball surface is doing all the heavy lifting.
Hell yes! These homemade ball videos are the best! I look forward to more now that you have the mold
Thanks Brandon. Forrest with the assist. ❤🔥
The mold that was given to you is literally a bowling ball mold. 😂
I mean technically no, it wasn't made for molding purposes. It was only meant to contain a bowling ball to let it soak in a cleaning solution to make it hook more. But when I saw it I obviously thought it's very close and thought it might work.
Dude left a 5-7-10 on lane 34 around 20 minutes. That was skill.
Thank you Brandon and Forrest
I think Forrest should switch companies
Thanks Brandon!!!!
Make that "that's what she said" into a short😂
19:50 sour apple sighting lol
Could you shave the ball molding around the center to create more of a circle?
Lilly sighting
Need to find a lathe or one of those automatic sanders maybe to get that ridge right. I like this series so far. Hopefully 5 is a success
BRUHHHH..... guy on 34 with the 5-7-10 19:50
Michael - “we have a very suspect thing protruding from the ball” .. my brain “congratulations it’s a boy” 😂

Cool video talk tech bowling ball homemade bowling ball Michael

Should have left the spider in there
Thanks Brandon!
Thank you Brandon!!

You have your own mold? Can you tell me about it? I'm all ears lol

You win the 3rd trophy 🥉 anyway but thank you sir 🥹
@220avg Holy-shootin'-balls! 😳
Sorry, my first time ever being replied by an AWESOME MAN such as you, my good sir! ❤
"I know you've been here 5 minutes, but I bee here over 2 hours"....LMAO MIKE>..you're hilarious....hope one day you get this to really work and start your 220 line of balls.
Thank you Brandon
Pro tip for the ball boy: return by rolling to up the gutter. Wait don't - it's more fun to watch you run.
Thank you Brandon!
How do you harvest a watermelon from underneath a bowling alley? Of course you use a rake!😂
to deal with the bubbles you need to have a pressure chamber that will pull the air out while the resin cures.
That's definitely an option. Another one is what's called Deep Pour resin. It's designed to cure slowly so that the bubbles have plenty of time to rise out. It works surprisingly well. Just takes longer to cure.
The color of the ball looks pretty cool and hits surprisingly well for just 13 pounds
13:33 Good thing Forrest is friendly, he's flagged for PvP.
Can we welcome that one guy to the sour apple club!
220 we need a rock core ball 2.0, shooting a 300 🤯
mixing the blue into the resin looks like a scene from breaking bad
Please just contact a bowling ball company and ask for a mold!!! Then also make your own custom core!
16:54 I could watch Forrest slap Micheal in the face all day 😂
homemade invisaball with dollar bills inside😯😯
the only thing coming to my mind with that groove is that you need to cut the surface down a little and not just trying to do it with surface pads, iirc even the ball manufacturers do it that way, tho where to get a tool like that is another question
19:49 that guy that 5-7-10 must have been so mad 😂
Lily on lane 34, I repeat Lily on lane 34. That is all, thank u lol
19:50 a 5-7-10 Bah God!
Theirs definitely potential with that mould just need to get the rid of the ridge
Missed up on the ball! didn't design a core for the ball! coreless bowling ball! wounder if it gonna hook lol
It did hook, surprisingly more than the rock core from what it seemed.
Double curve was not a dud. That ball is a stud!
I see my ppl Tony Blakely and Keith on Lane 34 lol.
My favorite bowling content. Keep it up psycho.
Maybe get something to vibrate the mold after you poor to help the bubbles surface out
14:14 there he is again!!…👀
Tell Robin Aaron and Cindy at the decks Couch said what’s up
What do you think it weighs
13.6 pounds, he showed it at the end of the video after he bowled with it.
Please try zhe 2-hook-ball on the 2025 U.S. Open Pattern #4
10 mins in looks good so far lol
Im surprised he didnt add a core to it also
He wanted to test out how it would roll first.
legend
This ball is great you really need to sand the heck of that ridge and then you will have a amazing ball
Just take the plug grinder and work your way around the ball.
Surprised you didn't use the right gutter as a ball return. It would have been much more efficient. You'd just have to snag it before it got to the foul line.
Why every bowling alley puts 220 on an end pair😂😂
Pressure pot and those air bubbles won’t be there
Taking “Unprofessional Bowler” to the next level.
Honestly at 6:00 I had a feeling that would've happened 🤣
I saw that coming a mile off 😂
19:58 5-7-10 on lane 34
any thoughts on when you might sell more invisible balls, sir?
Almost looks like the Hammer nu. Nice job. How much does it weight?
13.6 pounds, he showed the weight at the end of the video after he bowled.
Thanks Brandon your next homemade ball put a bottle of coke zero as your weight block.
I would recommend some PPE when dealing with resin. Respirator, nitrile gloves. That stuff can be bad for your health.
Was gonna say this. Definitely needs to be in a ventilated space, and ideally wearing a respirator, especially if he's gonna continue to do this. So much resin content out there, but almost none of it talks about resin safety.
😑
Another W Video
lane 34 19:50
How many pounds was the bowling ball?
He said it was 13 at the end of the video.
Lol pause at 12:27 it looks like an egg not a ball
5:56 goddamnit beat me to the punch
Sometimes you make a mess when you pull out
You still coming today?
(To Dublin 😏)
@@220avg No, I had a medical issue on the way there and had to head home. I planned to bring official beer goggles for you to try out in your videos.
You need a cool rock for the core
better idea for next time you can use a bucket to mix the resein and the hardner all together and pour it into the mold at the same time :))))
3d printing a ball mold should be pretty easy
@stephengasior8072 I have a basic concept designed already, but I need to make some touch ups and then actually have it made to test it out.
@@decadude8968when you finish could you share the finished model?
Fill in the ridges an re-sand it.
Bridges he said. So it's round, then continues straight for a short length, then goes back to curving. That's what he meant.
Let's go Brandon!
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
I thought your invisible was homemade?
Made in china
Guy to your left had a Lilly 😅
I thought he was lighting a bomb with that thumb nail
