Just came across your wonderful video of the Commander on the Rubicon Trail, and loved the way it performed. Could you tell me what you are using for a GPS system, and how you have it mounted?
Do you feel like for doing that style of Trail the Defender with the HCR arms would be better because of the dimensions of the vehicle? Or would you prefer that commander?
That looks like a really cool machine man! I noticed it has the X3 front diff but I am curious about the transmission. I wonder if it is as strong as the X3 transmission 🤔. It looks like a great overall machine. I'm glad to see Can-Am redesign the Commander.
I have a 2021 Commander XTP. Didn't like the seat positioning, too low. Took the entire drivers seat frame out, added spacers made from square tubing to raise the seat and give it a slightly more reclined position.
Great video!! I’ve got an XTP on order and trying to decide if I should upgrade the skid plate? Not going to do much rock crawling mainly Trails Old roads ect…Would love any feedback you can provide
Really depends on where we are riding. The X3 has more suspension, and is better for very rough terrain. Commander has more storage, and a more upright seating position.
Been on that trail many times but in and old willys jeep on the Jamboree, Tahoe to Rubicon springs, would like to do it in my Wolverine
Great looking rig! Would love to see how it looks and runs with 35” tires next!
We may try that. They looked like they would fit.
If you run 35's do you think you would need a 3" lift kit?
Great video. I have an XTP also. What is the spring/ shock combo you guys installed
I want to upgrade mine also.
Shock therapy
How did you like the Shock Therapy suspension compared to factory ride?
Factory ride is nice and plush. Shock Therapy takes that a bit further. FOX iQS is awesome too
How’s the cab heat on a hot day, my Polaris can boil water in the cup holder?
Not a problem if you don’t run a windshield
Great ride man, where did you get your mirrors?
Those are Assault Industries / Baja Designs mirrors/lights
How about an indepth video on your UTV rack system. I'm looking for options on hauling my 1st SXS. Love your videos keep up the great work!
The rack is made by Alpine Designs in Placerville.
Great video and good looking buggy! what is the offset of the SB5 wheels and what does that give you for a width? Thanks.
Overall width is right at 64”
Just came across your wonderful video of the Commander on the Rubicon Trail, and loved the way it performed. Could you tell me what you are using for a GPS system, and how you have it mounted?
We use Gaia GPS and have it mounted using a Can-Am table mount
Tablet is an iPad mini
What brand truck bed rack is in your video
Alpine Designs out of Placerville, CA
I just purchased a commander x-tp. I was wondering if you put a clutch kit in you machine? I plan on running 32" tire as well.
No clutch kit yet and it has done fine. Might consider the high altitude kit thought from BRP.
Thanks
@@UTVGuide101 what is the high altitude kit? I noticed riding in Colorado at 11k feet my machine definitely has loss of power due to thinner air.

Commander
Your IQS switch is on your shifter console, is there a better place to put it or does it work alright where it is?
Personal preference
@@UTVGuide101 Understood. Thanks Stay safe
Jon, When you remove the pin and open the dump box all the way for serving the engine does your box hit the shocks with the IQS installed?

How the cab heat on the new commanders?
No complaints!
Is there a way to raise your seats?
Not on the Commander
I have a 2021 Commander XTP. Didn't like the seat positioning, too low. Took the entire drivers seat frame out, added spacers made from square tubing to raise the seat and give it a slightly more reclined position.
Never mind I just got 1/2 through video!

I talked about the skid later on in the video.
Stock is fine for trail riding
@@UTVGuide101 thank you for the reply!!! So overall you’re happy with it?
Yep!
Great video John what air pressure did you run on the Rubicon Trail?
Ran 10 PSI today
What size tires are you running? Looks bigger then stock
32-inch System 3 XCR350 tires. This unit comes with 30-inch from the factory.
When's next trip
Just got home from Eastern Sierra
@@jonteresasepicadventures7341 nice .. if you ever need some company let me know
How would you compare this to a general xp? I currently have a xp ranger and I want a sportier unit.
The ride is more push and with the longer wheelbase it is able to handle rougher terrain without getting out of shape.
So overall do you prefer the X3 or the commander?
Really depends on where we are riding. The X3 has more suspension, and is better for very rough terrain. Commander has more storage, and a more upright seating position.
I just finished my turbo s it's built
