  • Everyone that owns one of these knows the charging circuits cant have accessories added to it or it will either run battery down or overload the charging circuit and fry the fuse panel the dual battery kit keeps the primary battery from running down when using a high current draw wench and light bars so you dont loose driving ability There isnt a lot of information out there on this subject so I thought I would share my findings Enjoy the video Like and Subscribe

Thanks for making this video. I'm currently troubleshooting an issue with my isolator on my RSX. It's the OEM isolator from JD and is a Cole Hersee 48525 model. Mine seems to work sometimes and not others. When it doesn't work, it keeps the status LED on, gets hot, but doesn't actually connect the batteries. Thanks for bringing up the mis-wired plug from the factory. I'm going to check that out on mine.

Is there a trick to getting that floor board up to run the lines with the factory harness?

Did you customize the battery box for the dual batteries or just mount 2 single boxes offset?

@@BuffProductionHD That's what I was afraid of. That kit runs around $780 right now. I'll try to fabricate something. Thanks. I also got my Buck Lights rocker switch installed, I love it.

Is it possible to purchase the isolation relay and timeout switches third party? By the way great video

The switches are 3rd party momentary rocker switches ..all the timing is done with the John Deere battery kit ..you simply wire the switches to the John Deere wiring ..I can't remember if the John Deere kit came with switches ..but my customer wanted these specifically so they all matched and lit up in the dark

What brand of battery isolator/booster system did you use? Is that the isolator from John Deere kit? Trick to wiring booster switch to isolator?

@@BuffProductionHD what about the switches, were did you get those? I’m having issues with my RSX being unable to start and want to wire in the booster switch to the John Deere isolator that came with dual battery kit

@@RocketFan1KR if you have a standard battery and its charged that isn't whats keeping it from starting ..the dual battery boosted is simply adding two small batteries together to make one big one ,,it is more of a conserving energy due to using your accessories in the woods by spliting you can keep one charged to run gator while the other runs the lights the only time you would boost is if your primary gets to weak to start it with one small battery when the gator is running it should never be boosted the isolator does that when it needs to link to charge the secondary battery after the primary is fully charged..I got the switches at www.ch4x4.com

The guy I did the work for has drove it since this video was made and he says it has ran flawless since the install. I do not know if that is the cause of the overheating I do know it wasn't wired right from the factory .. in electrical everything has to have a ground and power wire so if it wasnt grounded odds are the isolator couldnt function properly

I see lots of people claiming the dual battery dont help ..they miss the point of it ..its not to give you more battery capacity ..the point is to conserve battery capacity for the gator to run and get you home due to running the assessories that use up alot of the battery ..the isolator keeps that from happening..it is wise to install the boat battery gauges so you can see whats going on at all times .. ot required but in my high hp car it is better to know whats going on before something happens vs after and the gauges were $50 a piece on amazon
