- 95% of eBay MTG Repacks are scams... But once in a while I find a diamond in the rough. This repack seller delivers the goods.

To be fair, they likely repacked the sarkhan when it wasn't worth alot.
to be double fair, that is probably the only way your realistically getting ANY money or value in these things is if they put at least not TOTAL bulk rares, just some semi unique ones like that that even remotely have any chance of spiking in the next few years
You say "probably," but we know you mean "absolutely."
It is always easier to directly accuse the other person of unfair behavior than to look into the matter and investigate the circumstances. Look at the other cards from the pack and you can make a chronological classification on the basis of the publication date when the package can have been created at the earliest. The newest card is from Strixhaven (Venerable Warsinger). So the pack can't be older than April 2021, when Sarkhan was $9. Even if the price of the card doubled in August 2021, Sarkhan was already a card that outweighed the price of the pack at that time. Fair enough.
That ashiok belongs in a garbage can, not the 'money' slot of a repack.

That video was actually really enjoyable. I love seeing a repack that feels like a mystery pack where you get interesting and usable cards.
Cool story, this week I pulled a retro frame foil misty out of a blister set pack, feeling lucky I went to a LGS and they had a single pack of og Innistrad left in a booster box, grabbed that and an iconic master's pack. I shit you not I pulled a Liliana of the Veil and a Consecrated Sphinx. I took the rest of the week off.

When you do these, add a segment at the end after you looked up the prices ^^ would round it up much better and you wouldn’t have to add so many notes.

I love that Greed artwork. It used to be worth a little more but Greed was just reprinted. Sarkhan must have jumped a ton! Didn’t realize it was so high. Nice video as usual

I've thought about repacking my bulk rares to sell like this and at worst I'd do exactly what he did in trying to give back at least what they spent, with some value sprinkled in. In the end, you come out ahead because you're dumping the bulk that was never going to be worth anything on the open market to buyers, and building a customer base that will come back because they don't feel scammed. Good stuff.
One of my friends had the exact same draft story as you Moss boss. He was doing a draft with his girl friend and the first pack in one of them got a foil jeweled lotus. I thought I’d never hear pulled a jeweled lotus in the first draft pack ever again until this opening started. I didn’t expect to tell this story but hearing almost the exact same story it was impossible not to tell.

Nice Video,quite shocked there is actual value in those repacks,i buy some now and then but not really for value just for the fun ,however i try to get the cheaper ones.
18:25 ...so far I think it's really good considering it's a repack. You're getting a good amount of rares and the variety is really good. It's not all junk commons and for the most part the cards have been in good shape. Some of those cards would even find some play in commander.
ha thats funny you mentioned Battlebond! Mattcaster Mage is doing a box-break for that set right now too! Maybe you should get in on it aswell, im going in for at least one pack! I wish I could join in on your box breaks, even though im not a patreon I always love to stop by and seen you open them! Or catching you in Openboosters box openings i always see you little ninja sneaking in and caushing me to @skadoosh you 24/7 until he catches you lol
Bought some repacks in the past. Biggest hit I ever got was a Gilded Drake in NM condition. Back then it was valued around $5, but since it was a cool card, I sleeved it and put it into a deck. Years later and it's suddenly one of the most expensive cards in the set.
I like watching the repack videos. I buy them sometimes as well. Once pulled a Sliver Queen and Lake of the Dead out of a few good ones.
Years ago I used to sell repack booster draft sets (4 players). One box contained 4 packs of 40 cards that were the starter decks (commons) and it came with 10 repack booster packs each containing 15 cards w/3 uncommon and a rare. I randomly added foils as an extra card in the boosters as well. I made about 50 cents a box as my profit as for me it was more about getting people to enjoy the game. Oh and the card list was 3rd edition and up. In fact there was a lot of 3rd and 4th edition cards in those repacks.
Your openings are by far the most enjoyable of any content I watch in the MTG community.

That Memory Lapse from Homelands was a flashback to the nineties 😅 Thanks for making these, very entertaining and yes, I've opened a few. My LGS used to sell them and they were pretty good. Support the LGS at the same time.

I've only ever done 1 repack buy and it was garbage. It was worse because it was one done by a pretty up there MTG YT'er (at the time) so just left a massive sour taste.
Not seeing the usual dumpster fire repacks, it almost took the fun out 😂 👊👊👊
I was at the San Jose Comic Con about six years ago (four Walking Dead cast members including Michael Rooker were signing photos that day) and I noticed one stand selling Magic repacks. It had been years since I played so I figured $10 for a random pack of 30 uncommon and rare cards might be interesting. Since the cards were a mix of Magic 2013 and 2015 cards I doubt I made my money back but it was nice to see what the cards now looked like. Except for Michael Rooker stealing control of the PA system to crack jokes (which will always be a highlight), the Magic repacks are about the only thing I remember from that particular convention.
That Cruel Ultimatum was Archenemy, miss that sooo much super fun with a full group of 4

I was doing a 6 pack legends draft with 3 other friends. On second pack I made the comment "Which of us will get the Lotus?" and flipped through to see a Lotus. Hi-fives and fist bumps were had all around the table. One of the friends mentioned that since we bought a box and a half and mixed up the packs so we had prize packs it was possible for 2. I joked "Yea or a foil" Opened the 3rd pack and hit a foil. Was the most insane pack busting I've ever had myself
Bad sleeve on the jeweled lotus will damage the card. Check your sleeves. Good to change them too when you come across cars again

cyborg one in doylestown PA has 6.99 repacks that i feel have some decent value if you are ever in the philly burbs area!!!
The Rise from the Tides was special, because it's the first card that printed "create a token" instead of the "put a token on the battlefield".

My crazy story was doing into a prerelease Theros draft or just a Release day Theros Draft and pulled a foil and non foil Elspeth, Sun’s Champion lol I still have both to this day ❤️. I got 4th in the draft.
Years ago (2015ish) I went with my daughter to a Zenfikar draft after I hadn’t played in several years. Someone told me that there were some special full art fetch lands that were worth a bit that I needed to watch for. In my first pack I opened a flooded strand and kept it. If the other player wouldn’t have told me they were worth money I would have passed it. Someone bought it from me at end end of the tournament for $160

Did a vintage repack of 100 cards with 10 preAntiquities and 1 Alpha/Beta for 40ish. Beta was a Pearled Unicorn. Overall not bad.
My cool story of the week is a good one. It almost sounds fake because it was so good. I grabbed a single blister pack of MH2 from target yesterday while running an errand, and from ONE PACK I got Force of Negation foil-etched, Borderless Foil Endurance, Borderless Marsh Flats, and a Borderless counterspell. Mind blown when opening that. Still can’t believe it all came from one pack.

At least there is a variety of cards from a bunch of sets. Obviously it's a gamble, but still cool to see what u get.
I've bought repacks after Joey has opened them and they were actually decent. Both times I have I ended up with my money back or more in card value. Definitely appreciate these videos. And if ya'll wanna try this one out, best hurry lol

I am. It the most experienced buyer of mtg cards but the few repacks I have bought have not been head turners. But they can be resourceful when deck building when needed. Value is always the tricky part because why would you place a 200 card in a 8.00 repack? Just my thoughts.
Can someone explain to me how the prices are so bumped up since for example the last card essence flux the price i see on internet foil is 0.50€?

I've opened way too many bad repacks. I just listed my own repacks, I only have a few feedback so they are not flying off the shelves but my packs are solid. We're all tired of the scam packs.

When I see these online I get the urge to test my luck but I know it's mostly a scam, cool that someone is throwing good cards in as well.
A cool story, my first ever day opening magic cards, I went to the counter and asked what's fun to open for a new player and they suggested double masters, some core set ect. I happened to see a egypt looking pack and said I want that. They said those are risky and there's 10 packs left out of the box. I took all 10 and sat down. I was flipping through and hit 3 mythic cards, and then I opened a strange hieroglyphics card and had 8 people watching me all start freaking out, they grabbed me a sleeve and top loader. First time magic player hit a lotto card. It was entomb. Ever since I've been hooked on amonkhet invocations.
Short story; I bought a Chandra intro deck from walmart and out of the 2 packs inside the product, I pulled a Masterpiece Sol Ring.
My thoughts are those are nice packs for building a trade binder

Bought a MTG repack a couple months back, I didn't even get the package, and the listing was removed.
So if I'm reading this right saryth, the viper fang wind ur creatures are attacking they have deathtouch am I reading that first line right so if you combo off with Fynn the 8 Bearer and you have five creatures in play and you just play fin you win the game right if I'm reading that one Viper Fang hard right those creatures are attacking with deathtouch if I'm reading this right

Instead of buying sealed box I purchased 24 commander legends lose packs. I received 25 and pulled 7 mythics including mana drain, sakashima foil, tevesh and apex. Apart of that found 4 rare lands and Jeska's will :D
My cool story. A couple weeks ago one of my local game stores (labyrinth games in DC) did a commander legends draft. The employee dropped one of my packs and I told him he'd dropped a jeweled lotus. He kind of laughed until I pulled the lotus out of the pack he dropped.
Bad Boy getting all the good repack packs... now all thats left is $.50 worth for everyone else. =)

Yeh alot of people just wanna get rid of their old cards ASAP so they don't pay attention to prices, could find a black lotus one day ironically.
I bought a repack once and got a marsh flats. I never purchased another repack, because I think that I will not be that lucky again.
Some friends of mine and I did a commander legends booster sealed 4 man pod. We mixed both boxes up then passed them out. Well one guy in our pod opened a regular lotus and a foil lotus...it was insane! And he called the foil one...smdh...skadoosh!
