Hayes-thanks for your piece! I really enjoyed seeing you at Ethan Setiawan's concert in Goshen the other month. You're a great soloist and collaborator!
So great to see all those great players and Web teachers gathered together. Music creates bonds, vanishes frontiers and ego and show the diversity of the world !
Man this was sooooo cool to all these different takes on a single tune. Something to steal from every single one for sure, except for Jake's. His break was too ridiculous. (JUST KIDDING JAKE!!)
Everyone has a great take on this tune but Jake Howard is a beast! I had the pleasure of jamming with him at IBMA and he played my Rose mandolin and I played his Nugget and it’s amazing 🤩!!
All great contributions David, but I would like to point out Baron’s amazing approach as an improvisation of this tune. He is so enjoyable to hear his explanation, breaking it down so that average guys like me can grasp it. Thanks for this wonderful survey of some of the best in the world!
TOO MANY BRILLIANT IDEAS! My head is hurting just thinking about working on them all. What a fabulous idea, David, thank you so much. And a big thank you to all the participants for their time, knowledge & inspiration. I would love to see a series of these - maybe the next one could be a "beginner" tune like Ol' 😊Joe Clark, or Adeline The Baker. Imagine how nuts that could get with so much room to breathe.
Thanks so much for this video. I appreciate how each person breaks down their thoughts about their solo. This is very helpful to those of us trying to learn to solo.
This is my favorite mandolin video so far with all of my favorite people. Well done! I try to play a BarronMikeZetterBennedictine style but slower with more mistakes.
Maybe my favorite video you've done. Super helpful hearing all the different approaches and learned about some new content creators ta-boot. Please do a part 2!
I was following the Jaywalkers and Mike started his lessons so I’ve followed them from the start, I’ve been following you for the last 6 months and I’ve watched a number of Baron’s lessons but had not heard anyone else. Great post and a lot of food for thought
This is a great video. My background is lead guitar. I’m now perusing a back burner passion for mandolin work. I so thoroughly enjoyed all the variations on this tune. Thank you all or ya’ ll! 👍
I am a new viewer to your channel but I must say I realy enjoy this content . Guitarist Paul Davids does a simular thing on his channel but for giutarists . ... well done young man!
That was fantastic. Personally I found it inspiring but at the same time intimidating. The world must be full of incredible mandolin players. I guess I just have to keep at it. 🙂
I’ve been following you for quite some time now and sorry for just now subscribing. I hope haven’t felt used and abused as I tapped into your knowledge and info you put out without being a subscriber. I’ll make it up to you one day. Haha
Hey Bronwyn! Sorry for the difficulty, but looks like everything is in order over on Patreon--maybe try logging out and back in again. Thanks for checking out these solos!
I actually think that if you would have taken that diminished lick a little bit farther it would have been great. Like instead of sneaking it in there, letting it stand proud 😅
It just occured to me that if you present the artists breakdown first .IE. befoere the actual solo . I would be more in tune to theier intentions and directions
What a crew! Thanks for having me, more soon :)
So great to have you on, Baron!
Wow, it's fantastic hearing all the versions. Thanks David for inviting me to this project, so much fun! 🙂
So great to have you on, Magnus!
You’re the best David! Thanks for assembling this mighty team, it’s was a blast to be a part 💙🙏🏼
A blast indeed! Thanks for doing this, Hayes!
Hayes-thanks for your piece! I really enjoyed seeing you at Ethan Setiawan's concert in Goshen the other month. You're a great soloist and collaborator!

This is awesome, super video David!! Thanks for the invite to collaborate.. so fun!
Let's do it again soon!
Awesome video David! Thanks for having me a part of it, a real pleasure to be included in a video with these awesome pickers!
Any time, Mike! You rocked this!
The internet at its best. Great job David! I find so much value in this content on so many levels.
David and Baron are my two main dudes when it comes to playing any new tunes, and even going back to try for a new variation. Thanks guys, Bob
27:14 Did anybody else think of the Spiderman theme during Baron Collins Hill demo? It made me happy.
Great catch!
So great to see all those great players and Web teachers gathered together. Music creates bonds, vanishes frontiers and ego and show the diversity of the world !
Such a great watch and listen! Thanks to everyone that participated
Jewels from everyone, thank you all!! But I enjoyed that glimpse into Andy Hatfield’s mind the most… totally grounded and out there at the same time 🤯
Yeah, Andy has such a cool perspective--amazing player too!
What an incredible video! I so so so loved it. Thanks David!
jeez, this is amazing. Months of inspiration, playing and practice lies ahead!!! Thanks to all these quality players.
I love how you played the actual melody passed the 12th fret, that’s absolutely killer! Great video with a ton of great players!
😂😂😂
That was just glorious, David and all. Would love to see more like this. What about one demonstrating chopping?
Or more broadly, their various rhythm ideas. Great idea
Ah, cool idea, Gwenn! Thanks for watching!
David, thank you so much for taking the time to make this great video ❤ This is so unique and awesome 👌
Really appreciate all of your solos
This format is really valuable to me in my learning, thanks
Fantastic!! I can't wait to plug away at all these super parallel universes of perception on Bill Cheatham!
How cool to see this variation among the players!
All great contributions David, but I would like to point out Baron’s amazing approach as an improvisation of this tune. He is so enjoyable to hear his explanation, breaking it down so that average guys like me can grasp it. Thanks for this wonderful survey of some of the best in the world!
Wow! What a great collection of solos and more importantly, ideas. Thanks for putting this together (and thanks to everyone that participated)!
Such a insightful video by outstanding mandolin pickers... even explaining their thought processes when creating a solo.
What a great idea to hear different players on the same tune! I learned a lot. It makes me more confident now to add variations to my melodies.
So cool! 😎 great playing by everyone
Great video with some inspiring versions of Bill C. Thank you!
Glad you enjoyed it!
This is a true masterclass. Thank you David!

Honored! Thanks for watching!
@@DavidBenedictMandolin I think my mandolin teacher was playing with you down in Atlanta last year. He’s the bass player in the Dirty Grass Players.
David, thank you for this, tons of fun watching, listening, and learning from so many great mandolin players. Love this stuff!
Colab videos! Great concept, great karma. All great players and a great teaching and learning tool . Thanks much D!
More to come!

Very cool concept. Enlightening to say the least. Thnx David.

Thanks David, so glad you included our very own UK MandoMike in the video. A great player and teacher!

It's like Jared Dines' shred collab, but EVEN COOLER!
Such a great video! Love this.
That was fantastic. Personally I found it inspiring but at the same time intimidating. The world must be full of incredible mandolin players. I guess I just have to keep at it. 🙂
Really enjoyed your solo David

Great video, I learned a ton(e).
Awesome video!
I liked Kylies solo the best. So many interesting licks and devices.
I was hoping to hear them all together at the end of the video
I can't access the transcripts. They're all locked, but i should be able to. Is there a problem?
Hey Bronwyn! Sorry for the difficulty, but looks like everything is in order over on Patreon--maybe try logging out and back in again. Thanks for checking out these solos!
@DavidBenedictMandolin no luck. I've added extra info over on Patreon
Great video
I actually think that if you would have taken that diminished lick a little bit farther it would have been great. Like instead of sneaking it in there, letting it stand proud 😅
I liked your solo
Kylie 😮❤

Great lineup and great idea! Thank you all❤
I wish this lot lived within 25 miles of me 😂❤
It just occured to me that if you present the artists breakdown first .IE. befoere the actual solo . I would be more in tune to theier intentions and directions
Want to teach Indian Classical music on Guitat& Mandolin.
