Stephanie Jaworski of Joyofbaking.com demonstrates how to make a Lemon Frosted Pound Cake. This Lemon Frosted Pound Cake is very similar to the one my mother used to make. It has a lovely golden brown crust which contrasts so beautifully with the buttery yellow interior that's soft and moist and rich with cream cheese, butter, and eggs. Vanilla is the flavoring in this pound cake, along with freshly grated lemon zest which provides a nice citrus flavor and helps to balance both the sweetness and richness of the cake. While this cake is delicious without the icing, I couldn't resist pouring over a lemon frosting that dries to a beautiful hard matte finish.

This is the BEST cake I've ever made. My family could not easily believe that this is not store-bought. 🤣 This cake is perfectly moist, delightfully sweet, lemony and flavorful.
I have a convection oven(40L, 2000W). It took 70 minutes in 160°C.

I’ve been craving the lemon loaf from Starbucks but I didn’t want to spend the money on it. I watched this video a few times but around 1am I had the urge to actually make it because I was in my baking mode. I’m glad I did. I only have a grater which to me didn’t zest the lemon the way I wanted it to. I split my batter into to pans and the second pan I add some lemon juice from the zested lemon. I didn’t get much lemon taste from either or batter but with the icing it’s perfect. If I continue to use the grater I have I’ll just add lemon juice from a whole lemon.
Also I used a hack for the lemon that will help. Roll the lemon on a hard surface (countertop), poke a hole on one end of the lemon with a toothpick and then squeeze the lemon and the juice will come out of the hole. Trust me, it works. It’s the perfect way to not get the lemon seeds and to get just the juice......you’re welcome

Hi Stephanie, thanks for all your wonderful recipes, however this one went a little wrong, done everything as you instructed, all went well until the last 15 mins of baking, looking through my oven glass door at 45 mins it looked perfectly well risen, when the timer went off at 60 mins it had all collapsed in. Any idea what went wrong?.
SOUNDS LIKE YOUR OVEN TEMPS, COULD BE OFF. GET AN OVEN THERMOMETER, AND MEASURE THE TEMP, FROM THE CENTER RACK. ALLOW THE OVEN TO REACH PEAK TEMP: 20 mins.

5/13/20 Love your magic oven you put the cake in and turn around and it's done.....I wish mine did that lol...that looks so good.....my Daughter made Lemon Tea Cakes for Mothers' Day and they did not taste like Lemon at all....she cheated and used Duncan Hines.....and that has always been my fav. brand of cakes to make....I think I have made all of them, and I never had a bad cake....I always preferred them to any home made cake made .....and much easier , and I worked and always took everyone a cake to work when it was their birthday and they must have love it because I never took any home....so I was telling her that you grate a lemon for your lemon cakes....so we both were glad to know that, I will be making both of these cakes I hope soon....and I want to make an orange cake and use orange instead of lemon....thanks for that tip..... sure wish I had a big slice of this cake right now.....:)

I did it. It was absolutely delicious. Oh my Gosh, how good it was. I added a bit of lemon essence to the mix because I love lemon flavor and I felt that the lemon zest was not enough, but apart from that, I followed your recipe to the T and it was amazing.

oh boy oh boy, i finally baked one and ............ its............. awesome! soft, moist i used frozen lemons but next time i use fresh one, with the frozen ones i could not make it lemoni enough! And its not sweet, i thought it would be super sweet but no its fine. Can i reduce the amount of sugar without any impact? thanks for sharing!! i love it
