I play Opus 2064 every Sunday and I can truly say it’s one of the best organs that I’ve ever played. I never get tired of it! And it’s only 12 ranks!

I just LOVE the sound of a Reuter organ!

Very generous of Reuter to show such a generous amount of their shop and engineering process. Lovely tour.

Our church is honored to be home to Opus 2444, and we could not be more pleased. Reuter did an outstanding job with our project which was completed in 2004. Reuter #1

Are you sure it's #2444? Neither the Reuter opus list nor the entries in the OHS database go up that high.

@@carlbradley6948 No, but I live in San Marcos, so I might get the chance! I looked up the information on OHS. It seems like a rationally designed organ, from the stoplist. Reuter are generally pretty good about that.

I bought from a friend, a Reuter single rank unit chest, scaled for a tibia clausa. The action took up so much room within the chest that there was insufficient wind volume to operate a tremulant. I added a 2" square wind channel to one side of the chest and it works perfectly.

I bought a 1970 11 stop organ in wichita and I am moving to the Rio grande. Never heard a bad Reuter sure gonna miss them! Very fortunate to actually own one. I found a used Estes 32' bourdon octave just to get to the 16hz c. Not the biggest in nm but it is the only 32' octave!

Wow they manufacture their own pipes. That's amazing.

We do too up to a certain size, I think most builders make most of their own pipes, not many cast their own sheets and plane them.

Thank you very much for this great video.
How many pipe organ manufacturers are currently operating in the United States?

It's unfortunate they are scaling back operations but it's an inevitable development given the changes in cultural demographics going on right now in North America. The giants like Casavant will survive, but I expect in the next decade or two there will be more closures of big names like this. Small firms that do rebuilds or maintenance will be around, of course.
