But my Bimmer has the best sysem out of the 3. Everything is in perfect working order. Factory Navs are better then aftermarket portable GPS devices, because the factory Sys. are linked up to the tires, engine management system, steering, breaking and Cruise systems. If at any point during travel and he Nav loses satellite due to driving throw a tunnel, the Nav Sys knows exactly where you are, it knows your speed and heading. If you look at your accelerator pedal, you will not see a cable going from the pedal to throttle body, instead you'll notice a wiring. Around 2001, that was the very start of drive by wire. My question is, that unit you installed, can it hook right into the Car's Nav system? Or, must it use it's built in GPS?
Hi there, so this system installed allows you to choose the navigation software you would like to use. I use Google maps, it too calculates your position if GPS lost based on your avarage speed and more importantly, from other Google maps / Android users just having gone through the tunnel. Off course, the downside is that you'll have to use internet to use the app. On the upside, these systems are the best of today, not from 2001. I'd therefore not agree with your statement of how the factory gps is superior to an aftermarket unit. Depending on the budget, these systems are smooth, fast and responsive, have touchscreens, Bluetooth, internet, integrated music streaming, run Android and Android Auto, and can run any app from the Google play store, just like your phone would. What Make/Model head did you install?
It was an Eonon 😊
Press the button on the end of your turn signal switch until it shows your current MPG fuel consumption and then hold it in to reset for your current usage. Welcome friend!
Thanks but no: this does not work on all models!
@@TheMomusCollection OK good to know. Does on my 01 530i so thought I'd share. I loved the new head unit you installed by the way. Shalom
It's nice that it's plug and play. Please show an update video. What's he Jose number
I'm sorry, but i don't understand the question
How you fix clima control sistem in that place?
do u have the 677 hifi dsp system?
It did not have DSP. The car had been long sold though. I don't know what the current fix for the head unit is.
What is this radio called and where did you get it
It's an eonon, you can order one through us 😉
Hey quick question. How did you get the m package steering wheel on that bimmer?
Hi there! It was an M sport package car, before M bumpers existed.
@@TheMomusCollection so I’m guessing it was a single stage airbag?
@@edwinao7522 not sure, it was in there from factory, 1997 car.
@@edwinao7522 yes, it is single stage. Dual stage airbags are on cars from 3/1999
Momus, Have you had any issues with this system since the install? i've heard the reliability on some of these units can be schetchy. I am considering doing an upgrade like this on my own E39, but i am afraid of it not going well.
Drove with it for a year, had no issues. Got slower though.
@@TheMomusCollection Thanks for the reply. And thanks for your videos.
Hey where can I s head unit like dat to purchsde
From Eonon 😉
Can you give a link to where you bought this, or what's the brand? I can't find a good one.
The brand is Eonon, good luck!
@@TheMomusCollection Cool thanks😀
I'm in my second radio unit and none of them turn on at all? There is something i have to do first ?or the seller just send me back to back unit that do not work....
That could be, what unit are you talking about? Did your original radio work? We only deal with Eonon, feel free to inquire about their models!
@@TheMomusCollection yeah eonon GA9301B
And the original radio before was working !!
@@ratata2315 that's peculiar, are you sure everything is plugged in? Also check your fuses, maybe one of the blew with disconnecting or connecting the plugs. 😉
@@moesrolf I know.... I'm going to work on it today to see wtf is going on !
Hi, what did you do with wires from MID panel?
Hello Patrik, i'm sorry but I really don't remember!
Love the video
Love the car in your profile picture
Thank you , it’s was my baby
Will this fit in an 03 525i?
Hello, this model head unit is no longer made 😉
Hello can you please tell me how did you make steering wheel controls work ?
They are plug and play ;)
Mömus in my case that is not the case :/ they don’t work :(
Mömus can you please tell me what cables go into the canbus decoder if you know ... please bro I’m struggling to make them work almost a week now ...
Maybe both of you could tell me what kind of head unit you guys installed?
Mömus pumpkin rq1130e
What website can u find the radio system
It's an Eonon. Get in touch here to get yours! www.wearemomus.com/service
Out of curiosity how has it been working? Its been a full year, have you seen issues with it? People from the bimmerforums seem to indicate they can be unreliable and the ones that work are the lucky ones. Shame if that's true, the headunit seems really well designed and the fact it integrated so well is a huge plus.
Hi there, it worked very well, got a bit slower over time but no major issues ;)
Your OBD II, what is brand? Where to buy it?
The blue connector?
@@TheMomusCollection yes
@@s_h_i_r_o not sure anymore, it was some cheap one from ebay. Not very good.
Does it work with the DSP cars?
Unfortunately it does not work with DSP equipped cars.
Where did you get this system please

What unit did u get? Part number. I have a 2000 BMW 528i
This unit is not available any more 😢
Mömus ok. I’ll try another one similar. Did you have to run cables to the back of the car? my original radio is simple with no navigation. Greetings from California
@@bernardoomar no it was a plug and play system, exactly as shown 😉
they dont make one for e39s equipped with DSP?
I don't think so, no.
Mömus thanks for response. Keep making the E39 as coolio as it should be. !
Are all M5s dsp?
@@terryslay2622 not sure about that!
I just bought one and also bought the dsp harness an extra 65usd so I would guess it does work with dsp.. started installing it tonight will finish it tomorrow
Hi, is everything plug and play ?
Pretty much just like it shows in the video
Sucks that this headunit is not plug and play with cars with DSP.
Sure does.
Pls tell me what is tha brand name of that stereo upgrade and where to buy
Mömus how does it bypass the dsp?
Dsp?
How do I order one of those for my 97 BMW 528i
Shoot me an email hello @ wearemomus.com 😉
Have you checked out the I-BusApp? (shop.ibus-app.de/en) This transfers over the information and allows you to reset the consumption and things like that. I'm curious to see how it works with your build if you end up trying it or something like it.
Would this work in an e38 740il?
Absolutely, write me an email at hello [at] wearemomus.com for more information it for a quote on the head unit!
Hey I emailed you!👌
which android head unit did you get?
countingtelescopes an Eonon 😉
Where did you buy the radio?
Great video Thanks :)
how much money you spent for this project?
Luckily we did not keep tabs!
but approximately? :D
Subscribed!!!
are you french ? I heard French when you put on the radio ;)
From Luxembourg ;)
hoo ok that's why ;) Nice video btw :)
From following what you didn’t I ended up breaking the screw needed to undo the unit...
Say whuut?
Mömus luckily I was able to just pry the unit off
@@yup57 glad it worked out!
Mömus you did help a lot with other thing though so thank you 😂
bro what the fuck is up with the link in your description
Wow! I had actually not seen that before, yikes! We stopped the website to make some changes and come back with a better domain name. The new owner is tasteless though...
