Break in is about heat cycles. For example, picking it up and driving it 2000 miles in one shot is less effective than 500 miles over 10 full heat cycles (broken into 50 mile stints). The internals need to expand and contract as they mate/bed. Most critical are the first 500 miles. Varying the load is everything. You don’t need to baby the throttle, just keep it under 4k RPMs. But you should mix in plenty of heavy throttle. I just went through this process in my 718 GTS 4.0 and didn’t burn a drop of oil over 2000 miles (these engines are expected to consume up to 2 quarts during break in). I attribute this to constant load variance.
My car is a 992 4S and I have KW adjustable coils it rides more like a GTS. I do track my car. Also I have a Val Tronics exhaust and aftermarket turbo. jet black metallic with chalk interior. My only regret is not getting yellow seatbelt to match my calipers I only have about 4000 miles on it but it’s a real solid car
@@WillMotivation Pure 800 also you may want to get those 200 sales sports cats. You can really hit those turbo pull up. I get a lot of stuff from Flat Six Motorsports.
@@WillMotivation I know for sure the guy who worked on my car changed the intercooler pipes. He did install BMC air filters. And I forgot to mention I install a set of magnetic carbon fiber paddles from Eurosport. They have a very nice satisfying click like a GT3
@@WillMotivation I did do several public videos and an unlisted video, I think you watched the unlisted video. I went over the options on that one. One of the public videos is from the outside of the 911 Turbo S while it’s driving.
Man after seeing this beast in person I feel like the ride height is perfect, maybe you can switch up the wheels, and then with what you have planned with the hood this thing is going to look amazing! I'm even more excited about the performance build you're going to do on it!
As for the exhaust, I did the IPE valved exhaust, with 200 cell soul cats, and a tune on a ‘21 c2s cab. It gives the exhaust note a nice tone and more enhanced burbles /pops
I love how 911’s drive. As you said, best suspension out there, and steering too. Problem out here in the Midwest is we don’t have a lot of winding roads. If you find a good one, that’s the best way to enjoy this car
What an inspiration you are. I've been following you for a few years now (on another channel of mine), and I never get tired of hearing your story, and seeing you car collection as well. Pedal to the metal, and keep it moving, brother.
Hey, congratulations! With regard to the suspension, I had the KW HAS on my Audi R8 I found it to be a little stiff. Treated that car in four months ago for a 2021 Targa 4S! Put some H&R springs on and it feels great! Truth be told when you aired Courtney getting his new 911 a while back that was the soul inspiration for me getting mine. And yes, it is chalk.
Good taste bro did you order the techart kit? I got one coming! I had H&R springs on some past cars and they were terribly stiff. So they are good on the Porsche?
Off to the side, just a funny footnote. I picked up a Carrera T 2 months back and asked the salesperson about the break in procedure on the car at delivery. His exact words “ well as far as I’ve been told, all non GT Porsches are broke in at the factory and there is no break in period. I laughed and asked him if he was serious. His reply “ no I’m being serious. That’s what I’ve been told.” I chuckled and told him I won’t be using that thought process for mine. I fully believe in letting ALL the metal to metal surfaces wear in together. 100%!!! I don’t want any smoked engine falling on my shoulders. No thank you. But as far as I know the GT cars don’t even require a 2,000 mile break in. I thought it was a 1,000 mile mark( on GT cars). And all I do is backroads so I’m constantly varying the rpm’s. Consistent rpm eway miles is not ideal. Enjoy that car.
So you went with 2000 mile break in? I’m at 1200 miles already and it seems to be getting stronger and stronger I’m serious! I think they fill it with low octane gas at the dealer but it’s driving very good now
i haven’t decided yet. I’m currently at 435 miles and also sticking to the 4k rpm rule til 1,000 miles. I think I’ll go with nothing over 5k between 1,000 and 1,200 miles and call it good after that. Maybe nothing over 6k between 1,200 and 1,500 miles. I’ll see when I get there, but 4k til 1,000 miles for sure.
Such a sick car, broken in already too! and after seeing what you did with the Aston cant wait to see what you do to this car! I got to drive a 2016 carrera gts the other day and now i finally get why these cars are so highly appraised cant wait to get one of my own

Congratulations. Was there a specific thing holding the car up in production like the aero kit or something, or just normal non specific delay stuff? Just curious. I’m digging the chalk with the aero kit.
Thanks bro. I was never informed on why there was a delay actually. Still not sure, but I'm guessing it was some electronics or sensors or something like that from a supplier.
I agree that working for others comes with at least these two; those not taking risks will be working for someone who does, and, in today's economy, you don't get paid for your time, but they pay you for your worth. So, be sure you're wasting your time on someone who values your efforts and time as well as your life.❤ For color since you have the red accent I would go with light blue to baby blue. Light smurf blue, don't know if you guys know the cartoon.
Hi Will, congratulations! May I ask how this compares to the M4? I put a deposit down a while back for an allocation on a Carrera S and waited forever, and decided back in June to get a 2024 M4 convertible, which I absolutely love. I would like to know your thoughts on the differences between the two. I know they are two different cars, but just looking for your insights. Cheers.
Sure! I'll do a video on it. I'm sure a lot of folks have the same question. While the M4 feels a little stronger (with my JB4 tune on it), The Porsche sounds much better, has better suspension and way better looks. BMW makes some excellent engines but so does Porsche. I'll really get into it in a video. I'll try to do it next weekend.
Thank you for the information! A video would be awesome! Let me know if you ever do a meet up as I’m not too far from you, just outside of Pittsburgh. I’ll bring my M4.

See if you can get a exhaust valve controller . I know with the BMW's they never fully open. Many have switched and kept the stock exhaust.
Only problem is you loose back pressure with the turbos I believe by opening the valve all the way, without tuning the car
