@vicka camilla - would you say the elements is better than liv accommodation?

Hi Akash, I haven't been to the elements so unfortunately I cannot help you to provide the comparison. But you could weigh it out from the review online, you can try to look in studentcrowd and university living :)

hi! shu is going to be my first choice uni and to apply for accommodation, 4 choices are needed. what did you write in order to ensure that you were homed in the liv building?

Hi Elisha, from my experience, I just put LIV as my first accommodation choice. LIV is pretty nice but the management is not the best and I think that you can get nicer accommodation with the amount of money that you paid :)

@@VickaCamilla in what way aren’t the managers the best ? and where else would you recommend ?

@@lalacrp4472 Personally, I feel that they did not treat me well. From the beginning, I paid more because I book it early and I got the 2nd floor when I could have a higher floor with better quality and the lower price (which supposed to be more expensive) because they have a last-minute discount so I'm disappointed and the manager did not reply my email. After a week or two when I emailed him repeatedly, he just stated that he couldn't do anything about it. There's a lot of complaints from other tenants (in the LIV app) about the water, most of the time it stopped etc, noise complaints, etc. But most of all, I'm really disappointed with how they handle COVID situation. While other accommodations support their tenants with lower rent or free rent, LIV just give the options to end the contract early but because I couldn't go back to my home country I need to stay and I didn't get any facilities that they promised in the contract such as breakfast etc since lockdown starts which is so unfair because I paid more for LIV because of their facilities when I emailed them about it they said they couldn't offer anything other than end the contract early. After I moved out, they also cut my deposit (and my flatmates as well) without any explanations. I couldn't think of any particular accommodation to recommend but I'll suggest you do more research :). You could also look up the properties in sparerooms app.

Hi I’m looking at student accommodation for Sheffield Hallam Collegiate campus from 2021-2022, and was wondering if you’d recommend LIV student to a first year fresher? Since I’m not going to the main campus my options are a bit more limited due to distance from the university so I’m struggling to decide where to go

Hi Jane, LIV is closer to Collegiate than the city campus :) I think for the first year it would be ok since (before covid) they used to do some gathering so you can socialize. My experience was not as well as I hoped, but maybe yours will be better :) However, you can also search for a rented house in front of Collegiate because there are loads of them and it's convenient.
