Chiming in to say that this tweak (killing the rundll process) has made a world of difference in performance. Such a quick and simple fix for a problem that was making the game borderline unplayable. Thanks for the tip!
I've just found out that you are the guy that uploaded some of my fav videos on youtube - "Gothic 1+2: Masterpieces of Immersive Design " and "Gothic 3 Sucks -- A Critique From a Longtime Gothic Fan" Really love your work, hopefully this helped with making the G3 video :D
You need to be Running Gothic 3, then Ctrl + Shift + ESC to open Task manager and then you can sort it by CPU usage and it should be somewhere on top. Make sure you've started the game
I don't know if I can help you with that but maybe try you luck by Disabling Steam overlay in game ? (here's a screenshot of what I mean) prnt.sc/rninpo
You can find in the gothic 3 mappa an ini file, where you can change (bottom usually of the ini file) or simply change it in the game audio. I hope it helps

Anyone found a fix for the game running at 6x times speed when you have a 6core processor?
