Please go tour the "real" Colony Ridge located just east of Splendora where 2090 and 1010 intersect, take Plum Grove Rd to CR 347 (Paul Campbell Loop) drive .08 of a mile and take a left on CR 5017. What you'll find there is vastly different than what this video portrays, I know this because you'll pass my house on CR347 about 1/4 mile from the entrance to the "Colonias". Mine is the beautiful modern farmhouse with a wrap-around porch sitting on 1 1/2 acres filled with gorgeous mature trees that I can't sell because every potential buyer falls in love with the house but feels it's in an unsafe area. So, I'll continue to lay in bed at night listening to non-stop gunfire, dealing with packs of starving dogs venturing out to find food, frequently killing and eating family pets, so far we've only had two drive-by shootings at our quaint rural home but if I were the bettin' type I'd put money on the high probability of more to come. Every other Saturday night there's a lovely parade of 150-200 malnourished horses with drunken riders blaring music leaving a trail of empty beer cans and horse poop behind but it blends in well with the already trash-filled ditches. If you do go out and tour, which I'm really hoping you do, be sure to roll down your windows and take in the fresh country air filled with the stench of raw sewage, countless truckloads of garbage and decaying animal carcasses(or sometimes human). You won't be able to see it from the road but a lot of the "homes" have no running water or indoor plumbing so in the words of Toucan Sam, just follow your nose. When you drive by something that looks like a tent or makeshift structure of milk crates and tarps strung together between junk cars and 2x4s shoved in the ground reminiscent of forts and castles built by neighborhood children, those are actually homes, the same holds true for the numerous old school buses and RV's held together with duct tape like the one found in June of last year where 63 dogs and cats were locked inside, the SPCA managed to rescue 60 that were severely neglected and abused but sadly 3 had already died, X-Rays showed that one dog, in particular, was filled with over 70 pellets and BB's as though being tied up and used as target practice. You might run across one of several dog fighting clubs where dogs are bred and raised specifically for fighting or to be used as bait dogs that are mauled to death while the fighters perfect their skills. A little advice, give yourself plenty of time since the community is huge and sprawled out, drive careful on the roads though, they were built of concrete with no sub-base or rebar beneath them so they're falling apart and in pretty bad shape, try not to make eye contact or unnecessary stops but most importantly, make sure you're out of there before dark. Yeah everything is considered racism when somebody dares questions what’s going on or says negative things when they’re true. You don’t want investigations because it might expose the truth about what’s really going on. Admit it you love living in squalor. What do you want people to say when they see people live in a garbage dump?
