Vicky talks about her CP with Sister Sarah

This video was made to raise awareness in Cerebral Palsy Awareness month. Vicky has quadriplegic cerebral palsy, a physical disability that affects all of her limbs. Vicky is a young woman who is very sociable with lots to communicate about!
Vicky goes to lots of different places in the community. Vicky uses an electronic wheelchair which she controls herself.
Vicky's Athetoid Cerebral Palsy means that there is some damage to areas of the brain which are responsible for processing the signals that enable smooth, coordinated movements. This means Vicky has some involuntary, purposeless movements, especially in the face, arms, and body.
These involuntary movements can interfere with speaking, gesturing, signing, eating, drinking and other skills requiring coordinated movements.
Vicky requires support with mobility, communication, eating and swallowing food, toileting and changing and assistance with motor skills tasks. Despite her complex needs she is a very intelligent quick witted lady and this video showcases just that.
