I have a GC2410 with the same adjustment and you saved me a lot of time and headaches. I had to depress the forward pedal ro access the nut i=on reverse. Piece of cake. Thanks!
nice little machine! glad it was a simple fix. had issue with a john deere 110 the peddle were all electronic had to recalibrate the whole machine. wasn't an easy fix
Bolt stop keeps it nice and simple. Worst thing I've gotten ahold of is a Vermeer HDD with a bosch electro over hydro controls. Operator caught a stick with his jacket and had to replace the encoder. 2 days of calibration later we were back to drilling holes.
Shane, I sent you an e-mail asking you give me a shout. I'm about to perform the same minor out-patient surgery on the GC 1710 b/c my reverse speed has dwindled. I'll check to see if the bolt came loose and maybe a few tweaks will get it back in good shape. My reverse gear movement never was as powerful as the forward gear movement. That's one thing I do not like about hydrostatic tractors. Thanks. Will get back with you if it doesn't give me the fix I need. Later my friend. 🙂
Shane, I too noticed I too have to really push the reverse foot pedal down and increase the rpm's just to get a faster reverse speed. When going in reverse and there's a grade or slight lip to back-up over, it's almost impossible to climb over that small lip when in reverse. So I crank-up the rpm's and it gets me over the hump. I will see if adjusting the reverse foot pedal will eliminate the struggle to back-up over or onto a slightly raised grade. Thanks
I let mine get too slow. Noticed a big increase in moving gravel around with reverse working at higher speed like when I purchased it. It kinda crept on me slowly and didn't notice till it got really slow. Thanks for watching!
Thank you for sharing .I have the same tractor so i will file this away just in case i have the same issue. Keep up the good work and would you do a 100hr review of the tractor the good and bad and also tell us if you would buy the tractor again tks.
Thanks for watching. I should be over the 100 hr mark during this project and I'll do a complete 100+ hour review. I certainly would purchase the GC1720 again. Great value and it's run flawlessly. It normally does things better than I expect in terms of lifting ( I didnt expect it would load a railroad tie by the end into my dump bed but it did).
I jumped safety switch under seat. When I'm using fork's to load pickup I occasionally stand to see where my fork's are at exactly. It was a pain when it kept shutting off. ps it's definitely frowned upon disconnecting any type of safety switch.

Glad it helped!
Great video, thanks for the info.

I dropped you a line in your email.
@@ShaneBurrell1 Thanks, Shane.

Did that get your tractor going good in reverse? I had to adjust mine again this weekend. I put more loctite on this time.
That's some really good info. Thanks Shane! I need to check mine for the same thing.

How did you get off with it in gear
My seat switch only turns the tractor off if the seat raises up.

Cool thx, I'm gonna need to do this on my 1710.
Next time burn rubber and cut donuts.lololol
