Owning Altroz Diesel XZ+ for a year now. Odo is 24K kms. Went many long trips including Cbe - Goa - Cbe. The vehicle performance and stability is top notch. I love the car and it's drivability. As mentioned in the video there are few niggles in it. No on/off switch for traction control, Less pickup in first gear, delay in accelerator pedal. Other than that Service centers should improve a lot in many aspects. Tata should concentrate more on after sales service
accelerator lag is mainly fueling issues. its present in many tata cars. even my 2017 tiago petrol has the same issue. a remap or ecu update can solve this problem.
Some tips for altroz diesel owners: i) once green light came, do button Start to avoid big vibration . ii) in city, try eco mode avoid that 1sec delay and will get proper torque in low speeds. iii) Use green diesel in Indian oil for smooth engine and pickup

Altroz petrol engine lag is a known issue bro. Off the AC and roll down windows to avoid fogging. To improve engine performance, need to do some mods, but it will affect your warranty.

If you plan to buy altroz, Go for diesel. If the diesel ban comes to action, there won't be any issue with existing diesel cars. After 2027 if diesel bans comes live people can't by diesel cars after that time.
You are correct, in the case of altroz it uses a lean nitrous strap ( a type of emission control that doesn't require add blue) which is enough for an engine with 1500cc and below

But it may be in a positive way or even negative way. Resale value of good diesel engine cars may increase also. Already seen this scenario in swift diesel. In 2020 after BS6 maruthi stopped diesel engine but it impacted in price hike of used diesel maruthi cars. So it depends

But my suggestion go for diesel, as the petrol engine is low powered. But if you are not a heavy footed driver, you don't want a peppy engine then you can buy altroz petrol. Reg nexon already there is a petrol mt 6 speed option. You can try this also if you can increase your budget. The new engine you mentioned, are you talking about tatas new tgdi engine. It will take time to get launched. Or if you want engine refinement go for i20 petrol
Initially i faced problems in negotiating a speed breaker in second gear later on it was a piece of cake once you used to it. Using add blue solution does not directly correlate with engine CC it actually depends on the system use in emission control (SCR / lean nitrous strap)
