Agree instructuon do not tell you to wet the mat or how much water needed. Additionally if the pellet go sideways during shipping and expand you can't get them out, they are hard on the bottom. Do not like the coconut pellets , they expand quickly, some not all the way. The plastic is very thin, if crushed in packing can be torn easily or top bent and won't fit. Not a fan, will go back to my paper cups and trays. Needs improvement.

Every reply I read reiterates the feelings I developed for this planting kit. Must have hired morons to do this item.
No plant-o-grams or soil mixer included.
Lid does NOT fit the tray- period. Directions on box ridiculous. Online video worse. Too fast and written hints disappear way too fast.
Over all I've seldom been so dissatisfied with any product for many years past.
Used to buy burpy and loved their spring catalog.
No more burpee ANYTHING for me.

I used them this year (a couple xls for tomatoes and the 72’s for my peppers and other things) and it’s turned out great so far had to pot them up but the plants are thriving. The have reusable cells with a silicone bottom I’m going to see if it will work with the self watering system.

Do you transplant plants to peat pots before putting in garden?

The mat is not wicking water even after I soaked the mat overnight the top still feels dry and my plants were drying out. I not sure what went wrong.

I set up this starter kit yesterday and I noticed that the white side of the mat actually absorbed water, so I put this mat white side up. The black side is kind of impermeable so maybe there is an error in the instruction?

Worst design ever! There are no holes in the bottom of the black cube trays with the seeds and dirt go so how does it drain or soak up water? And the dome lid does not fit properly so the seedlings are exposed to drafts and the moisture escaping. Very strange inept design

I'm finding that as well, running into the same issues. I bought this thinking that it would potentially help save some time. I am now rethinking that. I tried taking the plant stands and wicking mat out to test, and the top doesn't fit no matter how I try to reconfigure it. Won't be buying again.

Burpee seeds are WAY overpriced in 2023...Double the competitors price for only 20 seeds. Full price on shipping even tho it's under 1lb. WOW

@@shamarguishard5999 been using them for over 20yrs. Idk... I didn't spend nearly as much as I normally do with burpee this yr. Was disappointed, but also gave me the opportunity to try out other companies. Burpee may not be my favorite company after this year. I plant a lot of seeds in the greenhouse so I don't have to buy plants and flowers. Just couldn't do that this year with burpee.
