First thanks a lot , I would like to have your advice to choice between zemismart wall switch based on ZigBee or this new Sonoff M5 Matter ? my target to have around 20 Smart wall switch covering my home so for sure budget coming first 😀

Zigbee and Matter very similar when you from a user perspective. I guess it depends on how you want to control them (like what app) and what are your automation needs.

@@csongorvarga Thanks for your response my concern to control them locally without involving internet / Cloud , currently I'm using Alexa as Voice assistance as short term next will be moving to home assistance or maybe homey pro for automation.

@@sandasoo OK, I am not sure if I know all the right answers. I think the issue with Voice assistants, it I am not sure if the processing is local. I mean controlling the device can be local, but the voice recognition could still be cloud based. I know Google is working on a local model, but I am not sure if it is working at the moment. Same for Alexa. Once it understands what you say, sure it can control stuff locally. Zigbee is an older standard, I am sure HA would be controlling Zigbee devices locally, and I think by the time you get there, it will be the same for Matter as well. So to be honest, I think both of them are equally good for your criteria.
